"So the President made his jobs speech last night: Tax the rich, fair share, will be paid for, billions, pass it now, and the three‑letter word according to Joe Biden: Jobs. That's just the words I heard. Was it a plea to Congress or a campaign speech?" Glenn said to open the show today.
"What a speech! You know, I hadn't thought about spending another 450, what is it, $450 billion? I hadn't thought of that. Had you thought of that, Stu? That was a new idea," Glenn joked.
"I didn't think of it. I was thinking now in retrospect why didn't I think of a new stimulus package half the size of the last one? That's going to solve everything," Stu said.
Pat pointed out that there were points during the speech where Obama even made the Congress laugh. "This isn't political grandstanding," The President said, "This isn't class warfare. This is simple math."
"They are actually laughing. That was an inadvertent laugh line. It is so ridiculous that he said that, they actually laughed at him. I love that," Pat said.
"How many things, how many things have happened in the last two years that we never have seen or heard before and yet Americans just won't wake up? " Glenn asked.
