Jan Schakowsky wants more of your money, but she sure doesn’t want to specify how much that is. During an apperance on the Don Wade & Roma Show onWLS-AM, Schakowsky was asked how much, out of every dollar, should the hosts deserve to keep.
“I’ll put it this way, you don’t deserve to keep all of it. It’s not a question of deserving, because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together," Schakowsky told the hosts.
But as they pressed, Schakowsy refused to give a percentage per dollar. Why?
“Such a basic question,” Stu said.
“ Her comeback, well I think we should do stuff together. How much stuff do we do together. How much of my money do we have to pay to do this stuff together?” Stu asked.
“It's a reasonable discussion. It would be the discussion in any household in America. It would be the discussion in any business in America. Any rational human being we would get together hey look we want to do some things collectively. We want to make sure everybody is taken care of in our neighborhood. Let's say we get together. We want to do those things. Now how much of what I have are you saying that I would give,” Glenn said.
Progressives like Schakowsky, however, don’t want to have that discussion.
“ You just have to do it or not do it,” Glenn said.
“The answer is always a little more than you're giving right now,” Stu said of how much the rich are being asked to give.
Both Stu and Glenn felt that Progressives ultimately want 100 or close to 100% of money earned over a certain amount. They used Matt Damon as an example who said 50% of income over 5 million should be taken by the government.
