On radio this morning, Glenn played audio of Ron Howard asking to be taxed more (video above), just like Warren Buffet. Apparently, Howard doesn't know that he can personally choose to "express his patriotism" and choose to give more money to the IRS.
"Now, I'm not averse to paying some taxes to try to help the country grow and help the economy grow," Howard said.
"Can we also send Ron Howard the address to the IRS?" Pat joked.
"You know what's amazing, they force you to pay a minimum but they don't force you to pay a maximum," Glenn joked.
"You know why they don't do it? They don't believe in it. They don't believe in it. They know when it comes down to it they can take their money and create more jobs, they can do this project or they can do that project or they can give it to, you know, some tree‑hugging society that will actually do something. It's not ‑‑ giving the taxes to the government they know is a waste of money. They know it is a waste of money," Glenn said.
Stu disagreed, pointing out that progressives think its patriotic. After all, Joe Biden said so.
"The gifts to the United States government right here says it was established in 1843 to accept gifts from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States. So all you have to do to show your patriotism is just send a couple of checks. Why not? You don't believe in charities. That's individuals doing it for individuals. Let's talk about sending it to the government. They know how to spend it. Ron Howard can't understand how to spend it. Warren Buffett can't understand. Sent it right to the government," Stu said.
