Van Jones stomping grounds turned fiercely violent last night as protesters refused to clear the streets they were blocking, forcing police to clear them out. Tear gas was used and sent the crowd into a frenzy. They lashed out at the police and continued to resist and the arrests started piling up. Why are there so many clashes with police this time around -- when the Tea Parties were far larger and arrests were practically non-existent?
"Glenn Beck is so crazy there's going to be riots in the streets," Glenn joked.
"I think you also said they hated the police. These people are showing their love by chanting 'This is why we call you pigs,'" Pat added.
In video from Oakland, one of the protesters said "Well this was anticipated. It should make everyone consider the monopoly and force on behalf of the state."
"When the city of Oakland is closing down schools. Closing down libraries every day. Yet we have this massive police force that continues to brutalize the public," she continues.
One organizer told people in Oakland that they needed to reject capitalism, and called the assembled people anti-capitalism revolutionaries.
Glenn and Pat also pointed out the hypocrisy from the protesters who yelled at police officers for brutalization at another 'Occupy' event who were not doing anything except standing in front of the protests.
