The Greek economy is so bad (How bad is it?) The Greek economy is so bad that even the usually left leaning Saturday Night Live is calling out the people of Greece for being lazy but at the same time demanding vacations, pensions and more! But did they miss some parallels between what is happening in Greece and what is happening just a few miles away from 30 Rock in NYC?
Watch the video below:
In the clip, Jason Sudeikis, playing Zeus, said, “I, Zeus, king of the gods have summoned you all to Mount Olympus because somehow the Greek economy has collapsed. I know. No, I know. I was as surprised as you are. I mean, after all, the Greeks are widely known as a hardworking, industrious people. You know, people willing to labor week in and week out, three days a week, one hour a day until the age of 45. But today we gods must come to their aid.”
“They are joking about it a little bit, but that really kind of sums up the problem, doesn't it?” Pat said.
“But that's Greece. That has nothing to do with here,” Glenn said.
“All we're asking for is free education here. All we're asking for is free healthcare here. All we're asking for is equalizing everybody. So, you know, even though that guy might work 80 hours a week, I get the same thing if I'm not working at all. That's not Greece. They're making fun of Greece, sure, but I don't see where you're tying it in to America. I mean, they don't even see it,” Glenn joked.
