Early in the predawn hours of Tuesday morning NYPD police moved in on protesters camping out at Zuccotti Park and told them to pack up and get out. Anyone remaining would be arrested, and that's exactly what happened to at least 70 protesters. The city argues the site is becoming a health risk - and with shocking pictures like the ones Glenn Showed on GBTV during radio today prove the city has a very good argument.
"Well, they took the anarchists and they kicked them out of Zuccotti Park last night. They are going back into Zuccotti Park. The government ‑‑ the City of New York just really want ‑‑ they just wanted to clean out the lice and the defecation and some of that stuff. No biggie. No big deal at all," Glenn joked.
More seriously, Glenn discussed organizers who said they want to return to the camp and set up a stronger presence requiring the city to spend more on police and other services to keep order.
"How exactly does the City of New York continue to spend this money? How does Oakland continue to spend this money? This is Frances Fox Piven. This is collapse the system. It doesn't matter, as long as they continue to make people spend money," Glenn said.
"This is how tolerant things are getting in New York. If you're watching GBTV. Can you zoom in on this? If you're watching GBTV, and I apologize if you have kids that are watching. Here. Ins a cop watching a woman or just standing by. This is a woman in Zuccotti Park. She is only in thigh‑highs and a garter belt. That's all she's wearing. She has nothing else on. She's nude on the top, nude on the bottom. She's in the park, standing on stage, celebrating, and the cop does nothing. Not arguing with the cop. What are the cops going to do? What are the cops going to do?"
The picture Glenn referred to is below:
"We are now the counterrevolution. We are the ‑‑ we're the counterculture. The counterculture usually loses. It will not this time. Because quite honestly we've exposed them. We've exposed them. We have alerted you every step of the way, we've told you exactly what was going to happen," Glenn said.
