Martin Bashir is no stranger to advocating progressive policies on his MSNBC show – but the latest shows just how out of touch he has become with the American people. See, Bashir just can’t seem to understand why anyone would still want to carry a handgun! In fact, he doesn’t get why Americans are against handgun regulation now as opposed to a few decades ago.
Bashir’s guest Alex Wagner said, “There's a statistic out there that just continues to boggle my mind which is that support for handguns or rather support for a handgun ban has gone down. In October of 2011, it was at 26%. In 1959 it was at 60%. Gun violence increases and yet people still believe that handgun bans are bad.”
When another guest tried to explain that criminals don’t follow the ban anyway, Wagner asked Bashir “Martin, you are from the more intelligent side of the Earth where they have different gun control laws and I wonder what you make of America's cultural sort of fixation on (handguns)?”
“Wow. I mean, can you believe this condescending twit?” Pat asked.
“When they banned their handguns over there, death by handguns went up by something like 300%,” Pat added.
“It's so pathetic. How can people the reason why those polls have gone down is because people have heard the argument and analyzed what happened after it. I mean, that's why. It's 26%. Because there's only freakin' hardcore people like Martin Bashir still doing it,” Stu said.
“More importantly, the gun law, the Second Amendment is to protect from an out of control government,” Glenn added.
