Wow - just a week ago pundits in the mainstream media were declaring this the Kent State moment for Occupy Wall Street, while at the same time amateur photoshoppers across the world were turning the incident into the latest internet meme. Shockingly, the viral "outrage" that accompanied video and photos of the incident may turn out to be as baseless as the claims that the 'Occupy' movement is grassroots. Like much of the 'Occupy' movement - the UC Davis incident is rooted in lies, manipulation, and a whole lot of bullcrap.
"Well, we were protesting together and the riot cops came at us and we linked arms and sat down peacefully to protest their presence on our campus, and at one point they were ‑‑ we had encircled them and they were trying to leave and they were trying to clear a path," one protester told reporters.
"And so we sat down, linked arms and said that if they want to do clear the path, they would have to go through us."
"And all I could see was people telling me to cover my head, protect myself and put my head down. And the next thing I know, I was pepper sprayed."
Shocking! They told the police that they would have to go through them to clear a path - after the protesters encircled the police - and then they were shocked they got pepper sprayed?
"You can hear in one of the videos of the incident," Stu said. "Where one of the students is told they are going to be pepper sprayed and they say, 'You're going to spray us? All right. No, that's all right. That's okay.'"
"Everyone's coming out and saying this is the worst incident ever. I'm sorry. If the pepper spray thing was so horrific, why didn't it work? Why were UC‑Davis students so able to withstand it, they sat there, they sat through it! They didn't move! It was not successful," Stu added.
"They didn't cry. They just sat there. I mean, you know, of course afterwards they all burst ‑‑ as soon as the cameras turned on, they all burst into tears and cried to the cameras. The bottom line is they sat there through it. And the bottom line is here is an incident we're told it is Gestapo. We're told that this is essentially the SS here in America. Are we to believe that UC‑Davis students are so finally attuned to avoid and withstand torture?" Stu asked.
