At around 7:30 PM last night, Glenn ventured out into Times Square to see the full effect of the hazardous blizzard. For those of you that have visited Times Square, it is constantly packed with people. In the video, Glenn is clearly one of a few people wandering around the streets with a few inches of snow dusting the ground.
This morning on radio, Glenn continued his discussion about his adventures in the shut-down city, saying "they were actually talking about turning off all the lights." To turn off all the lights in Times Square to conserve energy is a big deal, especially when the "historic" blizzard only leaves a total five inches of snow behind. But, that's New York for you.
One of Glenn's employees went so far as to set his alarm for 2 o'clock in the morning, just to see if they had shut down the lights. Glenn said they were going to have a freedom march if the lights had been turned off, saying, "they were telling you, don't walk on the streets. In what country do we live in? What is wrong with us? They're telling us we can't walk on the streets, and we're turning off the lights in Times Square for 4 inches of snow. It's nuts. Nuts."
