There Are No More Exits, So What Now?

Yesterday at this time, I was driving my tractor, cutting the alfalfa. There's nothing like it. It’s like fly fishing, if you've ever done that, or painting. It really doesn't take a lot of brain power, but it takes an awful a lot of attention. You’re thinking constantly, “Is the line straight?” (At least, I am.) “Oh, good God, here am I, coming up to a corner again.”

It gives you a time to be quiet and distill.

I spent my vacation up on our ranch, on our farm, and I painted. I didn't pay attention to the news at all. I've never done this on vacation. I didn't write or answer any emails. I didn't look at the news. That's so rare for me. I just wanted things to be quiet and to distill.

Yesterday, while I was cutting the alfalfa, a farmer friend of mine came walking out in the field. I had been looking forward to talking to him because I believe, as Thomas Jefferson used to say, I trust a man whose hands are in the soil and in the earth. There's something that roots him.

He climbed up into the tractor and closed the door, and I pushed the throttle up, released the clutch, and said, "I'm a little lost." He said, "You're not alone, Glenn. I've talked to four people just recently." He said they kind of had a meeting of the minds. One of these guys is a former big wig at the CIA, another one is a federal judge, and another one is just a spiritual giant --- but they're all friends, they all grew up on farms, they all still know what's real. He said, "We got together. We spent the day together, and we just talked, and we all agreed that the nation is in trouble. We all agreed that Hillary Clinton is just a nightmare."

"Who are you guys going to vote for?" I asked.

Let me take you back a week before when I was in Los Angeles. I spoke to a man while I was there who's a big Democrat, been a big Democrat, everybody I spoke to in Los Angeles was big Democrat and voted Democrat their whole life.

One in particular struck me, because he was incredibly honest. He looked me straight in the eye and said, "The Clintons are the most corrupt people I have ever seen. They are corrupt to the core. Their foundation is crooked. Their only desire is to enrich themselves and to grow global power for them and their family." It took my breath away, but then he followed it with, "But Trump." I laughed, because I've heard exactly that same conversation, except in reverse.

I'm in the tractor. My friend tells me of his mini council of four friends, and he went into it confident that his smart, ethical brain trust would come together and develop a plan. Instead, they argued with each other, passionately, but still with respect.

Two were on the #NeverTrump bandwagon, and two were #NeverHillary. None of them liked Trump. All of them really despised Hillary, agreed that she would be an absolute disaster. Mainly, everything was based on the courts.

When he left the tractor, Raphe climbed in. He sat on my lap and steered. He watched the front tire; I watched the back.

I settled on two things: FDR said this back in the 1940s. Ronald Reagan said it. John F. Kennedy said it. Clinton said the same thing. There's going to come a time --- and they even put a date on it; they said it was around 2016 and they were talking about social security --- there's going to come a time if we don't pay attention to these things now, we will have no good options left. Every option we have will be bad.

It's what I've been saying, that we're passing all the exits, and there's a bridge out, there's no place to go. There are no more exits. Do you stop and climb down off the bridge and possibly fall to your death? Or do you just gun it and just go off the bridge?

There will come a time when all of the choices we have to make will be bad, and each choice will be unacceptable. Clinton? Unacceptable. Trump? To me, unacceptable. Third party? To me, unacceptable. Because of the consequences of each action.

We were taught when I was a kid, we don't talk about religion, and we don't talk about politics. Boy, was that a mistake. Only because I think they were turned upside down. We were taught that talking politics will make us enemies. And recently, it has. But for a long time, it just was a way to get us to all shut up. When we had common principles, where we could have solved some arguments because we had common principles, we didn't talk. And we lost the common principles. And now, when we argue, we don't have those common principles to bring us back together --- so we never come back.

This may be the one time we should heed this advice: Don't talk politics. At least to clarify, talk politics, push each other, really understand the other side. Empathize when the other side isn't happy with their decision either. Everybody has a gun to their head and everybody doesn't like the choice that they're making, with few exceptions. Only a few people feel good about their choice for this decision. And mainly, this time almost everybody is voting against someone or multiple someones. That's never good, but the bridge is out.

What are we voting for? Can we stay bound by facts and reason and yet say, "Okay, there is no right answer? "

There are people I really respect, but disagree with --- and they disagree with me. But this election, I think, I can't tell you I see the answer. And I don't think you can really tell me, if you're humble enough, that you really see the answer either. Everybody is saying, “Yes, but we can hope that he or she will do this.” Yes, but well, that's different than knowing from record. And what we do know about record of both of them is abysmal.

Yes, I can hope that he's going to do X, Y, and Z. But I also fear that he may do W and M and P. And the same with Hillary.

So nobody can come to me and say, "Look, Glenn, here are the facts." Why do we accept that one side is telling us a lie on everything and the other side --- our side --- is completely honest? They're politicians. “No, they're not. He's not a political…” Okay, he's a corrupt businessman. We have to recognize at this point nobody really knows what the right thing to do is. Because of that, we're no longer in charge.

I don't believe that the Lord will save us, because a good parent never saves his children from the consequence that they knew was coming, but they refused to listen. They just said, "I'll do it my way. It doesn't matter. I want this." He's not going to save us from consequences, because that's a bad helicopter parent, and the one thing he isn't is a helicopter parent.

We made this mess. This is of our own choosing. FDR began to warn us in the present day, but George Washington said it in his farewell address. He laid this decision out in front of us and said, "If you don't listen to me now, you're going to face this decision." We have to pay --- faithfully, humbly and without guile --- the consequence, knowing that man is not just, especially right now.

Where is the justice? There is no justice. Man is not just, but God certainly is. So don't look to me or anybody else for an answer. Because I, for one, can't give you one.

I was quiet for a week because I was begging for an answer to help me make sense of this: “Give me something to say to people.” Here it is: I got nothing of value to say.

You have to find it inside of yourself. You have to find out what is right, based on eternal principles and eternal ethics that we all claim to uphold, then choose your own course and pursue it with malice toward none.

Because I believe we all are truly trying to do the right thing.

Listen to this segment from The Glenn Beck Program:

There is no transparency when it comes to the Biden administration, and Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz's recent exchange with the FBI’s Jill Sanborn is just another example. When questioned about alleged involvement the FBI had on January 6, 2021, Sanborn refused to answer almost every single time.

Do our government officials still work for us? Take a look at the latest headlines: The DOJ and U.S. Army are preparing for possible conflicts with "domestic terrorists," Biden's education secretary allegedly requested the NSBA letter that suggested treating upset parents like domestic terrorists, and President Biden said if you're not with him on the Democrats' voting bills, then you're with the Confederacy. Meanwhile, the FBI won't tell Congress whether it was involved in the the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and the corporate media insists that there's nothing to see here, especially concerning Ray Epps.

The American people are concerned, and it’s "extraordinarily disturbing" how far the federal government goes to avoid answering our questions, Glenn Beck said on the radio program. There's a very odd growing trend here: Our leaders, including the unelected ones, no longer answer to the people. This must stop now.

"The question that I have is, where is the transparency? And is anyone going to be held accountable? They are not afraid of our senators. They are not afraid of Congress," he stated. "This has got to stop. They have got to answer to the law. This is an oversight committee. Who is in charge, the FBI or the people? Once the people are not in charge and are not allowed to see the secret documents, we are toast. Toast!"

Have you ever wondered why so many insane things are happening simultaneously RIGHT NOW? Big corporations are going woke. The stock market got red-hot during a FORCED recession. Stores like Walmart and Target were allowed to stay open during the lockdown, but mom-and-pop stores on Main Street had to close, some of them forever.

On Wednesday's "GlennTV" special, Glenn Beck explains it all in this sneak-peek episode — a primer to his new book and the upcoming explosive, in-depth special: “The Great Reset: Joe Biden & the Rise of 21st-Century Fascism.” Co-author Justin Haskins joins along with Glenn’s head writer and researcher, Jason Buttrill, to answer audience questions about a topic that the media has tried to censor and “fact-check.” You will be equipped with everything you need to know about what the global elites of the world have planned for the transformation of society and YOUR life.

After new information came out that suggests Dr. Anthony Fauci intimidated and bribed scientists into dismissing the COVID-19 lab-leak theory, Sen. Rand Paul and Fauci got into a heated debate in a Senate hearing. But instead of providing answers, Fauci accused Sen. Paul of endangering him.

Sen. Paul joined "The Glenn Beck Program" Wednesday with his response and explained why he believes "people live in fear of what [Fauci] will do to them."

"It's all about money. If you cross Tony Fauci, you don't get your money. He controls the purse strings for the entire country, the entire university system. And he's been doing it for forty years," Sen. Paul began.

"It's consistent with his arrogance, this level of arrogance that he's developed. He said several weeks ago, that he is science and any attack on him is an attack on science. Yesterday, he said anybody who opposes him is encouraging death threats," he added.

"Look, I've been on the receiving end of semi-automatic gunfire. I was 20 yards away from Steve Scalise when he almost died. I was 10 feet away from a staffer that was shot. And, you know what? The guy doing the shooting was a Bernie Sanders supporter. But not one of us, not one of the Republicans on the ball field, said, 'Oh, it was Bernie Sanders' fault.' But that's the juvenile level of personal attack that Fauci is now stooping to. He is saying that the personal threats he gets are actually the fault of his critics."

Sen. Paul continued, "But the thing is, [Fauci] needs to answer the question. Everything he did in the committee yesterday was misdirection so he didn't have to answer the question. The question was, why did he smear three scientists from Stanford, Oxford, and Harvard? Why did he smear them as fringe epidemiologists? And why did he conspire against Francis Collins to take them down in a very public way? He wouldn't answer the question."

Over the past year, an increasing number of voices on the left have pushed for radical changes to our way of life, from reforming capitalism to enacting strict vaccine mandates. But are the American people behind these changes? A recent poll from the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen sought to find out, and the results are startling. The three-part poll asked likely voters for their thoughts on the Great Reset (half said they don't know what that is), COVID-19 authoritarianism, and whether they prefer former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden.

The Heartland Institute's Justin Haskins joined Glenn Beck on the radio program to break down the results of this exclusive poll, including the disturbing revelation that roughly half of Democrats polled supported shockingly authoritarian COVID-19 policies. For example, nearly half of Democrats polled said they think federal or state governments should require unvaccinated people to live in "designated areas or facilitates," or essentially camps. Nearly half of Democrats supported a proposal "to fine or imprison individuals" just for questioning the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications. And, when asked if people who refuse to get vaccinated should lose custody of their children, 20% of Democrats answered "yes."

But the poll showed some good news, too. Watch the video clip below for more details:
