When is anybody in Washington or the media going to get it?
People want a connection to each other and to lasting principles. These Washington elites have taken away almost every lasting principle, and then call us bigots because we don't agree with them on day number one.
People are saying, "Enough is enough." They have enough to be worried about: their job and their finances. They're worried about losing everything they ever felt was true.
So here's the opposite of that: What have Americans done? Americans have found some place where they feel normal. They feel they recognize it. And they leave it on in their house all the time. It's HGTV, especially with Chip and Joanna Gaines.
Chip and Joanna are normal people. She just gave some great advice. She said, "don’t try to please the crowd. Always trust your instincts and go with your gut."
She loves her Texas hometown.
"Waco is such a resilient town," Joanna said. "I’m proud to call it home."
Think about what Waco was about before they got there. "Wacko Waco." And now it's this thriving town.
You know, it's funny. One of the reasons they come under attack is because they're people of faith. And people of faith are not wanted in the mainstream media.
You look at the heroes in our culture, and we have erased almost everything faith-based and meaningful.
What makes Chip and Joanna, Chip and Joanna? It's their faith, according to them. How is that hurting anybody? And why shouldn't we focus on that? Why do we not talk about that?
For a couple of reasons: We're Americans, and we don't like somebody preaching about their faith. But there's a difference between talking about how great God is and preaching about faith.
That's what America really is. Chip and Joanna. Be more like that. And you'll feel at home again.
