If We Cannot Succeed With the Facts and Decency, We Will Shut It All Down

6 years ago, we needed to prove that people would watch TV on their laptop. It was HBO and Netflix. No personality had ever tried it and everyone said: "no one will watch."

We spent our time and money on convincing people that your iPad, laptop or phone were just as high quality as your TV. We succeeded proving the experts wrong, but we failed in the more important goal: Build something of meaning and quality.

We will not waste your time...

We now begin a new experiment --- to prove to the media and to ourselves that you can be profitable and tell the truth.

I wish the media would actually listen to this podcast from Mediaite, especially those of us on the right. Everything is about to change if those of us on the right don't stop our infighting and figure this out. We will fall one by one and Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple will be the portal of all information.

We will not waste your time or our resources on one more second of things you can get everywhere else. TheBlaze has done too much of it. I took the reigns of TheBlaze six months ago and the first thing I did was put in a customer service department so we could actually listen to you.

Then we worked hard over the last few months turning over every stone, meeting every staff member and listening to those on the lowest rung of the corporate ladder.

I met with tech leaders, studied what was coming and how others were solving the information and "fake news" problem. Over the last month, as the owner/operator I did the hardest thing a leader has to do. Look to the future and make the cuts to be nimble enough to try new things and new approaches.

“Problems cannot be solved with the same mind set that created them.” ---Albert Einstein

I will soon be slowly hiring those who are creative disrupters to join our team. I have spent much of my time with the next generation of Americans this summer as they are the ones that will help change everything once they have been taught the full truth of who we are, our Constitution and are fearless to question with boldness and HUMILITY.

Eventually, I hope to replace myself as I too am one of the minds that created the problem. The market may make that happen for me at TheBlaze as it will in almost all of conservative media in the next five years if we do not figure this out.

We will begin with a few simple steps, nothing revolutionary yet, but things that I feel will serve you in a better and more simple way.

First, Doc Thompson is live on TheBlaze radio and TV. TheBlaze radio is the 17th largest stream in America and THE LARGEST SINGLE STREAM in the US.

TheBlaze Radio Network (BRN) IS making an impact and most Americans haven't even heard of it yet.

Speaking and reporting the whole truth and actual facts are becoming a revolutionary act.

We need to do less in order to do more, so I have moved resources from products that were not working to strengthen the BRN talent and quality and to also expand its reach.

Doc is followed by my program at 9am ET where we will take the first baby step in a new approach to talk radio.

Some of the changes we made over the summer have already produced a rise of 11 percent in ratings nationwide. This comes at a time when almost all conservative properties are headed in the opposite direction.

The changes will be small, but as I hope you will see over the next 90 days, our quality of news that actually impacts your life and the way it is delivered will be greatly improved.

Again, seemingly nothing revolutionary --- but perhaps it is --- as speaking or reporting the whole truth and actual facts are becoming a revolutionary act.

Next Monday, Pat Gray joins the lineup with his own show on both radio and TV. Pat was number one on KPRC in Houston before he joined me. His voice on the return to constitutional principles is more needed than ever.

On September 11, TheBlaze news team spends a solid week with me working on a completely different approach to news, which we will begin to roll out as MVP, Sept 18.

The world dismisses us and most believe it is too late or will not work. Perhaps they are right. Perhaps you must run click bait, misleading headlines and say outrageous things to be successful.

If this is true, I will shut it all down and find some other way to make a positive impact. Even if it is just to teach my children.

Hillary supporters just launched her answer this weekend to "fake news." It is actually sad, it will only make things worse as it doesn't seem to actually care about the truth over winning.

Help us redesign a broken system of news.

I am not promising anything to you. I cannot promise success, or that we will change the world. I have failed at that too many times.

All I promise to you is what I promise myself and family --- that we will give our best work to figure out a way to make sense of the news, expose the lies on all sides, teach our children true history including the worst and then the best of America. Most importantly, we will do our utmost to help find a way back to each other and the things that made our nation the light of the world in the first place.

Join us or don't. But I ask that if you do actually listen, read, listen or watch give us your honest feedback. Help us redesign a broken system of news.

If you are a troll or hate me for some reason, that too is okay. Some of it I deserve, some I don't. But one way or another, I choose to live for tomorrow and not yesterday. We will live in the now and stop tearing things down and instead find ways to build up.

This may not work. The world says people no longer want the truth.

I am not sure, but I believe it is our only hope and we must find a way.

"I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work." ---Thomas Edison

We all have choices to make and I have made mine. Tomorrow, we all go into the same building and try to build something new.

I ask you to assist us all to focus on our future, not the future of TheBlaze or media, but OUR future where we all succeed or fail as Americans.

Sen. Ted Cruz: NOBODY should be afraid of Trump's Supreme Court justice pick

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to weigh in on President Donald Trump's potential Supreme Court nominees and talk about his timely new book, "One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History."

Sen. Cruz argued that, while Congressional Democrats are outraged over President Trump's chance at a third court appointment, no one on either side should be afraid of a Supreme Court justice being appointed if it's done according to the founding documents. That's why it's crucial that the GOP fills the vacant seat with a true constitutionalist.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to talk about why he believes President Donald Trump will nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death.

Lee, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that will consider and vote on the nominee, also weighed in on another Supreme Court contender: Judge Barbara Lagoa. Lee said he would not be comfortable confirming Lagoa without learning more about her history as it pertains to upholding the U.S. Constitution.

This week on the Glenn Beck Podcast, Glenn spoke with Vox co-founder Matthew Yglesias about his new book, "One Billion Americans: The Case for Thinking Bigger."

Matthew and Glenn agree that, while conservatives and liberals may disagree on a lot, we're not as far apart as some make it seem. If we truly want America to continue doing great things, we must spend less time fighting amongst ourselves.

'A convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists': Why is the New York Times defending George Soros?

On the "Glenn Beck Radio Program" Tuesday, Glenn discussed the details of a recent New York Times article that claims left-wing billionaire financier George Soros "has become a convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists who have falsely claimed that he funds spontaneous Black Lives Matter protests as well as antifa, the decentralized and largely online, far-left activist network that opposes President Trump."

The Times article followed last week's bizarre Fox News segment in which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared to be censored for criticizing Soros (read more here). The article also labeled Glenn a "conspiracy theorist" for his tweet supporting Gingrich.
