Think You Can Tell Real From Fake? Maybe Not

In the past few years, many of us have lost any trust we might have had in the media, preferring to rely on our own eyes and ears to decide what to believe and what’s “fake news.” But ‘seeing is believing’ isn’t necessarily true when today’s technology makes altering a photo or video as easy as downloading the latest app.

“We’re coming to a place now where everything is going to be indecipherable. Rumors, accusations are going to be backed up and constructed in ways where you will not be able to tell the difference. Your eyes and your ears are no longer going to help you,” said Glenn on today’s show. He backed up his theory by introducing a few of the modern technological wonders that are making it possible to recreate audio and video “reality.”

UPDATE: Apparently the snowy one was the original and the summery version was actually fake --- Glenn mistakenly had those switched in the clip above.
