The crisis along the U.S. border crisis is one of the most hotly contested issues heading into the 2024 presidential election. Under the Biden administration, an estimated 6-10 million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border, which is more than the populations of at least 30 states. Frightening reports of terrorist apprehensions along the border from groups like Hezbollah and the Islamic State spark heated conversations about national security, especially following escalations of crime orchestrated by illegal immigrants, like in the tragic case of Laken Riley.
However, those on the Left continue to raise humanitarian concerns about the migrants seeking refuge within our borders. It's clear that both the Left and the Right affirm the necessity of national security and the humanitarian concerns facing migrants. However, there is a lack of nuanced and meaningful debate between both sides of the aisle about what to prioritize regarding the border and how to best ensure national security and the humanitarian treatment of migrants.
Though we can't look to our political elite for these much-needed conversations, Bari Weiss' The Free Press stepping up to fill in the gap.
The Free Press is hosting a series of live debates called "The America Debates" on some of the most contentious and complex issues facing the nation. Glenn's audience will get a special discount for their inaugural debate in the series, "Should America Shut Its Borders?" Ann Coulter and Sohrab Ahmari will face off against Nick Gillespie and Cenk Uygur on the state of our border and how—or whether—we should secure it. Bari Weiss will be moderating.
If you are seeking a meaningful discussion on the U.S. border crisis, you won't want to miss Bari Weiss' event at Dallas' Majestic Theatre on April 11th at 7:00 p.m. CT.
