GLENN: I do not want to start a war with Russia or be in a war with Russia, but they've already chosen sides. We've got to disentangle ourselves from Russia. We have got to get them out of the decision making process on the things that the west does. It's time for the West does to stand up and recognize evil and recognize the alliances that they have been building all around us. And, you know, more importantly, you know why we're in this mess in the first place? We're in this mess in the first place because we will not become energy independent. The first thing that the President should have done after he launched the warplanes over to Afghanistan is he should have said, America, we are cutting our ties from the Middle East as soon as we can. We are going to make ourselves energy independent. People say, oh, well, he couldn't do that; he needed Saudi Arabia. Fine. Then don't announce it that way. Saudi Arabia is a great friend of ours and they are in deep, deep trouble and we are going to be right by their side and we're also going to make sure that we can continue to protect and be a good friend to Saudi Arabia by making sure that we go for our coal to oil, that we drill offshore. Because only a strong ally is a useful ally. We need to get our own oil and energy. We've got to stop spending. Why do you think we don't do anything with China? We don't do anything with China because they got all of our debt. We can't do anything with China. We're looking at 19, what was it, 1948 with England. England goes in to Palestine arrest Lebanon. What was that war in 1948? They go in and it hacks the entire Middle East off. We're trying to make friends. Russia says you stop them or we will. So we said we hold a whole bunch of the British pounds. We said, you know what, you don't pull out right now, we dump your pound. They pulled out. Well, what do you think we're doing? All these people hold our money. China holds so much of our money. Russia holds so much of our money. They will dump it. So we're held hostage because of our own financial house is in wild disarray and because we don't have our energy. And it is exactly the it is exactly the opposite of what we did to Russia. I mean, it's the same thing that we did to Russia but it is the opposite when it comes to energy. We collapsed the price of oil and that's what finally threw them over the edge and they collapsed. They are inflating the price of oil. And you know what? I read a story today on the price of oil. Blood's going to shoot out of my eyes. Are we really this stupid? They are saying now that people are starting to look again into SUVs. If you couldn't afford an SUV a couple of months ago, the last thing you should be looking for now is an SUV. What? All of a sudden this oil thing is over?
Nothing, no fundamental has changed. The only thing that has changed, two things: One, who you warned. We warned. It will be a very bad sign if nothing changes and all of a sudden the global price of oil comes down because it only will come down for three reasons: One, the rest of the world realizes we're getting serious about going to find our own oil. That's not happening. You might make that case a little bit but that's not what's causing the oil to go down. The second reason is because our dollar has been strengthened. That's not happening, but our dollar is gaining value. "Glenn, I've seen it in the papers. We're gaining value." Yes, because now economists and countries believe that the rest of the world is going to go into financial turmoil and so the investors of Euros and everything else are like, okay, I don't think that's even stable; I'm going to go back to the dollar. The fundamentals have changed on the dollar that people have more faith in us than they do in Europe, a little bit more and so they're starting to move back our way. We're still not the winning dollar. And it's not built on anything but fear. We haven't strengthened the dollar. It is still worth only what we say it is. And now we're not saying that it's worth any more. The Europeans and everybody else are saying, well, maybe it's worth a little bit more than this. That's only fear. And the third reason that oil would go down is because the engine of the planet is slowing down, and when the engine of the planet is slowing down, Al Gore cheers. But that means that we're moving slower economically.
You don't grow when you can't afford your own oil, your own energy. The world can't afford the energy. So the demand has gone down. This is not a this is a period of this is not a time where people should be going out and going, "Hey, I'm going to go get an SUV. Hey, you know what, Nancy Pelosi, I don't need to put pressure on congress, or I don't need to put pressure on either of these candidates to know where they stand on energy. It's down to $3.75." Oh. Well, we should celebrate. I mean, do you ever sit in your car and you just look at a person, like right now look at the person who's driving the car next to you and just go, you dumb SOB, how do you even find your way to the highway every day. I mean, if this is the kind of people that we have in our country where we are so shortsighted and that's the thing on Georgia that gets me. We cannot be shortsighted. We can't say, "Hey, we just don't want any trouble." We have to look at what Russia has been doing all the way along here. He's setting us up, man, using the conditions that we have created for ourselves and the conditions that have been brought upon us in the Middle East and they've just sat back and said, "Okay, when the time is right, the time is going to be right." I fear that the time, if it's not right now, it will be soon where they say, hmmm, you know what? Don't mess with us anymore. They've put us in a bottle because we've allowed them to do it.
