STU: I'm sorry to cut you off. The snorting pig is telling us there's a big, lipstick on a pig update going, Barack Obama's speaking.
GLENN: Hold on just a second. Hold on. Lipstick on a pig update. Go ahead.
OBAMA: About politics. Before we begin today I want to say a few words about the latest made up controversy (laughing), about the John McCain campaign. What the... (laughing). What their campaign has done this morning is the same game that has made people sick and tired of politics in this country. They seize on an innocent remark, try to take it out of context, threw up an outrageous ad because they know that it's catnip for the news media. Some of you may have? ?I'm assuming you guys heard this watching the news, all right? I'm talking about John McCain's economic policies because it is more of the same: You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. And suddenly they say, "Oh, you must be talking about the governor of Alaska." (Laughing). See, it would be funny if it? ?of course, the news media decided that that was the lead story yesterday. They would much rather have the story, this McCain campaign would much rather have the story about phony and foolish diversions than about the future.
GLENN: Hold it just a second. Right, so far, huh, Pat?
GRAY: Exactly right so far.
GLENN: Wait a minute. So the media, the right wing media that hates him so much is the one that decided to make this such a big issue.
GRAY: Well, clearly the media's been against him from the beginning. I mean, you know, they should have been saying better things than I've got a thrill going up my leg every time I hear him speak.
GRAY: Clearly divisive politics.
GLENN: Yeah. It's the media is the one. Okay. The media has obviously being controlled by the John McCain campaign.
GLENN: Okay. I just want to make sure I understood that. Go ahead.
OBAMA: Every election cycle. Every four years this is what we do. We've got an energy crisis. We have education? ?we have an education system that is not working for too many of our children and making us less competitive. We have an economy that is creating hardship for families all across America. We've got two wars going on, veterans coming home not being cared for and this is what they want to talk about. This is what they want to spend two out of the last 55 days talking about. You know who ends up losing at the end of the day? It's not the Democratic candidate, it's not the Republican candidate. It's you, the American people.
OBAMA: Because then we go another year or another four years or another eight years without addressing the issues that matter to you.
GRAY: Uh huh, like global warming.
OBAMA: Enough. Don't care what they say about me, but I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and Swift Boat politics. Enough is enough.
GLENN: Stop, stop. Very good. Very good. Could he have done a better job?
GRAY: Probably not. That will play to his base for sure.
GLENN: Yeah. No, that was very, very good.
GLENN: Very good.
GRAY: It was.
GLENN: Not a chance I believe him.
GLENN: Not a chance I believe him. Not a chance I believe the people in the crowd. The people in the crowd, when he said that comment, they knew exactly what he was saying.
GRAY: You had a very astute woman call right before the bottom of the hour update who watched the crowd. That's exactly what our listeners were talking about this morning. They watched the crowd. The crowd knew exactly what he was talking about. His little rye tone that he gets in his voice when he does these things.
GRAY: He knew what it was about.
GLENN: Yeah, clearly, clearly. All right, Pat, thanks a lot.
GRAY: All right.

GLENN: 888 727 BECK, 888 727 BECK. Stu, you have a new piece of audio?
STU: Yeah, apparently Barack Obama's now taking requests. Did you know this?
GLENN: No, I didn't know this.
STU: I wasn't aware of it, either. Apparently Barack Obama's now taking requests for his speeches and what he should put in them from certain journalists of the world.
GLENN: What did Keith Olbermann say and when did, when did Barack Obama say it later?
STU: All right, here's Keith Olbermann from the other day.
OLBERMANN: Something from the convention, maybe the most compelling speech in Denver was that one strongly voiced word "Enough." A lot of people who have felt angry about what's been done to this country in the last seven or eight years have that same sense of urgency and simplicity to it. Have you thought of using on the campaign trail and in your speaking engagements more exclamation points? Have you thought of getting angrier?
STU: So that's just a couple of days ago, the Keith Olbermann interview. This is from Barack Obama just a few minutes ago.
OBAMA: Because then we go another year or another four years or another eight years without addressing the issues that matter to you. Enough!
STU: You've got Keith Olbermann running for President.
GLENN: Unbelievable. You have Keith Olbermann who is a campaign advisor now. By the way, I don't? ?this stuff with MSNBC, gang, the country has changed and I don't think people understand the ramifications of it. MSNBC is going full fledged liberal. I mean, they have been there already but they are going nut job liberal. You've got? ?you know, you've got Keith Olbermann up against Hannity and Colmes. You have Keith Olbermann and now some other chick that is from Air America that I don't even know who she is. "You can put lipstick on a liberal, but she's still a liberal." (Laughing). Wait a minute, I don't even get that. So they have this going on.
MSNBC is? ?and this truly is frightening because you and I could agree with Keith Olbermann on this. Enough. And what's happened is our country has been divided for political reasons, for power reasons. They have been? ?we've been throwing the Democrats under the bus and the Republicans have been doing that and then the Democrats have been throwing the Republicans under the bus and we're being told to hate each other and it's all been for power. But now you have MSNBC. So now you're going to have different? ?you are no longer going to settle on the truth. Now what you've got is the left and the right and they have each got their handle on the truth and now we're going to be taught to hate each other for ratings purposes.
