GLENN BECK PROGRAM
GLENN: The Clinton/Obama poll has come out. I don't think I believe this. Stu and I were talking about this. First of all, this is one poll that has come out that shows that Obama has come up and Clinton has come down. Now, she deserves it. She deserves. But this is only one poll. It's a Rasmussen poll from Scott Rasmussen, and you just can't buy into one poll one day, although she deserves it. It gives me actually hope.
You know everybody always says, Glenn, where's our hope. Here's your hope. Obama is coming up in the polls and the reason why I say that's hope is I mean, I think he's a nightmare. I think this guy is -- this guy's just a nightmare on his policies, but I really believe that when people start to listen to his policies, you know, they'll choose someone else, pretty much anyone else.
However, with that being said, the good news is at least it shows America is awake. You know, Bill Cosby once said before he started the Cosby show, he said, "I have failed in vehicles that others have built for me. I've done a ton of television and I keep failing in show after show after show." He said, "I'm not going to fail on somebody else's idea. If I fail this time, I'm going to fail on my idea." And that idea was The Cosby Show. It was the same kind of attitude that I had when I started this show. You know, everybody told me this show wouldn't work and, you know, I don't have the talent for talk radio or whatever, and surprisingly they're right, but America's taste is just so -- I mean, the bar is so low that even I can get over it. And I remember saying to Stu when I first started the show, I'm going to do it my way and if it fails, it fails; it's okay. I just have to be who I am.
I don't mind if people don't like me or don't want to watch the show or listen to the show or whatever, because of who I really am. It drives me crazy that we live in a world where these blogs can take things so wildly out of context and take humor and make it into truth, you know, make it into something that I actually said. It bothers me that there are a lot of people in America that don't know me, never watch me, never listen to me but only know me through these blogs and they hate my guts. And the only reason why it really bothers me is I don't mind failing on what I really, truly believe. I don't mind somebody not liking me for what I believe. And that's the way all of our presidential candidates should be. That's the way every single person that is running for President should want to feel, and unfortunately I think Hillary Clinton stands up and she wants to succeed on what you think she is, not what she really is. Have the guts, have the courage to stand up and say, you know, I know 77% of the American people are against driver's license for illegal aliens, but I think it's the right thing to do. Have the courage to say it.
I think America is yearning for somebody who -- look, you're insane if you think you're going to agree with everything a politician is going to say. You're nuts. If they are you, well, what about the person next to you? How does that person who's not you, who doesn't agree with everything, only agrees with 80% of what you say, how is that person going to be able to relate to this person? You have to understand. You've got 80%. You're good. You're good. But these politicians, especially the Clintons, they triangulate so much, you don't even know who they are, and I have to tell you. I was thinking about it last night. How is it that she can get away with it? How is it that you've got all the connections to China, you have all of the -- I mean, did you see -- I mean, driving in today, Kathleen Willey has a new book out. Oh, jeez. You're kidding me. Really? We're going to go through this again? She's got a new book out that says that she thinks the Clintons killed her cat and... whatever. I don't know. Did they kill her cat? You know what? This is reason number 1,473 not to vote for a Clinton or a Bush. Did they kill the cat? I don't know. I don't care anymore. You want a sure way for the Clintons to stop killing people's cats or not cats and having somebody write books about it? Don't elect them. You know, I just can't take the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton thing anymore. Good heavens.
And so you look at everything that is coming, you see the same old -- we're picking it up right where we left it. We're picking it up right at the place where they left it where they were taking all kinds of money from China that they shouldn't be taking. That's where we left.
"When last we left the Clintons, they were taking money from China that they shouldn't have." I mean, it's like nothing happened in the last eight years, except apparently they are killing cats. I don't know anything about it. Where is Socks? What happened to Socks?
Where's Buddy? You notice both Buddy and Socks both dead. I'm not saying that they killed them but I'm not not saying it, either. I mean, come on! Yes, Stu?
STU: You know what's amazing about this, the whole debate thing with Clinton is that if you remember, when we talked about this when we had Giuliani on the next day and he was saying, look, I'm against illegal immigrants getting driver's license. Barack Obama was for it. Hillary Clinton had -- who knows where she was.
STU: But if you remember, everyone on the stage, only Chris Dodd said he was actually against driver's license for illegal immigrants. The same poll that you were talking about finds that just 19% of Democratic primary voters in New Hampshire support that. 19% of Democratic primary voters.
GLENN: This is -- to me, you know what this says to me. They are so convinced that they are going to win that they are not even playing to the primary voters. They are playing to the new voters that will get driver's license, and I don't even mean this election. This is a play for the hearts and the minds of the real next power in America, the Hispanic movement and so it's just, play right into those guys. They are so convinced that they are going to win. I mean, why else would you do that? Why else would you did that?
STU: I mean, I think they actually believe it.
GLENN: Yeah. I do, too.
