VOICE: The Glenn Beck program presents more truth behind America's march to socialism.
GLENN: You know, for socialism to take root here in America, it can only happen in one of two ways: Either bit by bit, drip by drip as it's been happening over decades or in one giant crisis. I believe it was the great Rahm Emanuel who said you never want a serious crisis to go to waste. They should look up on how many times he complained about George Bush using a picture of him on an airplane on September 11th. But anyway, you should never let a serious crisis go to waste, said Rahm Emanuel, and what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before, end quote. Well, they've got their crisis and they are doing things that they could have never, ever done before. But I think one of the most important things to make sure a crisis doesn't get bad enough to flip us into full-fledged France or worse is that we understand the scope of the problem that we're facing. What are the smartest people that specialize in the economy thinking? You know, the ones who missed the entire collapse in the first place. If we look at all of the economists that missed the collapse, all of what they were saying, a Wall Street Journal poll of economists, right around 90% of the economists think that a recession will be over by the end of the year. 90% say this will all be done by the end of the year. Now, I hope they're right. I really do. Wouldn't that be great? It will make you feel good about things. Unfortunately makes me feel a little worse because I don't think the economists, the ones who are steering our government, really understand how bad things are. Remember, for us to be able to pay off these debts, these guys have to be right. All the talk about the Great Depression in the news is completely absent from the smarty pants in the world of economy. Let me give you a quiz. What percentage of economists now believe that we will be in a recession January 20th, 2011. How many believe that we'll be in a recession January 2011? Over or under is 1%. If you took the under, you're right , 0% of economists believe this recession is lasting until the end of next year, 0%. And if you're wondering about the politics, polls show that voters are going to give Obama 18 months before this becomes his fault. 18 months before this is his problem. So if you believe the economists and the polls, voters will give Obama credit for the economy right when 95% of the economists believe the recession will be over. It's a good time to be a Democrat, unless you believe me. There are no political parties in a bomb shelter 14 miles below the surface of the Earth. What? I'm just...
VOICE: Even more overwhelming evidence that we are destined to be a bunch of socialist pigs very, very soon on the Glenn Beck program.
