VOICE: The Glenn Beck program presents more truth behind America's march to socialism.
GLENN: That's right. Our march to socialism. You know, some say that Barack Obama, that cat's a socialist, man. Others say, no, no, he's just really unlucky. Every policy he happens to support just, dumb, stupid luck, brings us toward socialism. That's it. I mean, brings us there quickly, like at a trillion times the speed of light. And I know the number "Trillion" because we seem to be using it an awful lot lately. I believe that it's just luck myself, dumb, hapless luck. Sometimes that luck works out perfectly. For example, universal healthcare. You know, that thing used to inspire debate, used to last for months on the front page news: What should we do about healthcare? Now just slid into another spending proposal. Oh, sure, you may remember that Obama said he was setting aside $634 billion as a down payment to reform healthcare in his budget. Wow, where's the escrow account I want to know? Where is that Al Gore lockbox with the 300 -- or sorry, $634 billion? I mean, that's a pretty specific number, too. I mean, how did you come up with that? I mean, you must have this thing mapped out pretty well, right? $634 billion as a down payment. Well, according to the White House, quote: It's impossible to put a price tag on the plan even before the basics have been finalized. Oh, wow, so they're not able to put an exact price on it. What could the cost really be? $635 billion? Maybe $636 billion? I mean, what's a billion or two when you're talking about hope and change? Guaranteeing health insurance for all Americans may cost $1.5 trillion over the next decade according to health experts. That's more than double the $634 billion down payment that President Obama has set aside for health reform in his budget. Wow, look at that. Dumb luck. I mean, he put down a down payment, and 43% down is an awful lot, if you are buying a house or a car. I don't know if he had ID or anything like that but I hear some things don't require ID or proof of birth certificate. Anyway, I'm not sure what the standard down payment is but, you know, when you're buying horrible healthcare, is it the same as buying an overpriced house? But where does the money come from? I mean, isn't he going to be a trillion dollars or more short? No need to fear. Socialism is here. From an unrelated article coincidentally on the same day in U.S. News and World Report and in the Washington times. Quote: President Obama's climate plan could cost industry close to $2 trillion, nearly three times the White House initial estimate of the so-called cap and trade legislation according to Senate staffers who were briefed by the White House. Wow, what incredible luck. Healthcare costs an extra trillion bucks but then, hey, look in this pocket. It's an extra $1.4 trillion that we found from global warming taxes. Now we have a budget surplus. This is so easy. Global warming, paying for universal healthcare. Socialism solves socialism. It's the circle of socialism, kind of like the circle of life except not a lot of people live in the circle of socialism. By the way, if you think $2 trillion is it for global warming, remember another cap and trade bill that was co-sponsored by Obama in the Senate was estimated to be the equivalent of $366 billion energy tax hike every year by 2015. But don't worry. I mean, the White House is bipartisan. No, they are. Listen to this quote. Quote: A White House official did not confirm the large estimate, saying only that Obama aids previously had noted that the $646 billion estimate was conservative. See? They are conservative when they have to be.
VOICE: That was even more overwhelming evidence that we are destined to be a bunch of socialist pigs very, very soon on the Glenn Beck program.
