VOICE: The Glenn Beck program presents more truth behind America's march to socialism.
GLENN: You know what's evil, I mean seriously evil, I mean like, boy, I'm evil. Those charter schools. Man, those things are evil. And school vouchers and private schools. I'm Beelzebub. I mean, I don't -- I can't tell the difference between the devil and the principal of a private school. I really can't. Anything that takes away power from the teachers unions, takes away from accountability and the glorious state to educate the children the way Washington sees fit, it's just, it has to be destroyed. Now, George W. Bush was far from a free market guy when it came to education. No child left behind stressed accountability, which is good, but still it put the federal government's hands deeper into education, not so good. But if you're Barack Obama, before you can really turn the wheel, you'll first have to convince them that the current school system is a failure. Most people think it is anyway. From factcheck.org. Last year George W. Bush touted U.S. gains in education saying that our fourth and eighth graders achieved the highest scores on record. He bragged that African-Americans and Hispanic students posted all-time highs. Well, last week Obama said those eighth graders weren't so great at math after all. He claimed that they had fallen to ninth place in the world and he bemoaned a high school dropout rate that had tripled over three decades. What a difference a year makes. So which one is it? Is it improving or is it disastrous? The high school dropout rate hasn't tripled in the past 30 years as Obama has claimed. According to the Department of Education, it has actually only declined by a third. Oh. Eighth grade math scores haven't fallen to ninth place compared to other countries. U.S. scores have claimed to that ranking from as low as 28th place in 1995. Holy cow. Obama also has set a goal of having the highest proportion of college graduates in the world by 2020. But in terms of bachelors degrees, we're nearly there. The U.S. is only second to Norway in the percentage of adults 2 5-64 with a four-year degree and trails by just 1 percentage point. How many people are living in Norway? So you make second place by 1% sound horrible. Confuse the meaning of fallen and climbed and then confuse the meaning of tripled and fallen by a third. But you can see how he's messed up. Tripled in 30 years and fallen by a third. It has too many 3s in it. And after all, we're not very good at math, you know. It's confusing. Too bad no child left behind wasn't around when Barack was growing up. Maybe he would be able to figure out all these confusing numbers.
VOICE: That was even more overwhelming evidence that we are destined to be a bunch of socialist pigs very, very soon on the Glenn Beck program.
