VOICE: And now another scenario in which common sent was clearly not applied.
GLENN: Okay, last week a story we didn't really talk about because it wasn't relevant until today. Shocking news, world of politics. A United States senator has admitted to an extramarital affair? No way! I was flabber I said, oh, we've got to spend an hour on this because who saw that coming? The latest guy who couldn't keep what was in his pants in his pants is Senator Ensign from Nevada. Not only did this guy cheat on his wife for six months but both the woman and the woman's husband worked on his campaign, and the woman's pay mysteriously doubled from $2,000 a month to $4,000 a month while the senator was shacking up with her. And both the woman and her husband were long time friends with the senator and his wife. Now, I should have known, you know, that I was wrong when I thought, man, it doesn't get any lower than cheating on your wife with a hooker like, you know, Vitter and Spitzer but I apparently Gavin Newsom, mayor of San Francisco proved that it did get worse than that and Senator ensign proves it once again. He cheated on his wife with one of his friend's wife and he basically paid for it, essentially making her a hooker, which is a beautiful and tender story, it is. The proof, the proof is here now that common sense is dead. This story is proof common sense is dead, but despite all of this, Senator ensign is still the most popular senior elected official in the state. His approval rating is 39% while his fellow senator is 34%, Governor Jim Gibbons is a miserable 10%. Now the smart one in the audience is going, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Glenn, I believe you stand corrected. Common sense is not dead in common sense. Yes! Indeed you are correct. It is alive and well. The other senator from Nevada with a lower approval rating than the guy who made his best friend's wife a hooker, Senator Harry Reid which, of course, makes perfect sense. The senator who was cheating on his wife with campaign workers who are close family friends would have a higher approval rating than Senator Reid. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Nevada, for recognizing just how bad Harry Reid really is.
Now, I promise if you vote for any of these bums next time, next time they are up for election, I take all of this back, Nevada.
VOICE: Next time try applying some common sense directly to the forehead and if that fails to solve the problem, read Glenn Beck's new book Common Sense: The Case Against an Out of Control Government. Get the details at GlennBeck.com.
