Glenn Beck: Obama's indoctrination

I Pledge video

GLENN: 888 727 BECK, 888 727 BECK. If you have a kid in middle school will but junior high, get them Nick of Time by Ted Bell. Nick of Time. It's going to introduce your child to a world of adventure, time travel, generations of real life heroes. Nick of Time. The first novel. I haven't gotten the second novel yet. It comes out I think in a few months, but I know what it's about, and I can't tell you how excited I am for these novels to actually last year it was a New York Times best seller. These are great, great, great just recently I said to somebody we don't have heroes anymore, they are all falling away. We need heroes. We need to be able to teach our kids heroes and not heroes that have a really, really dark side to them as well. New York Times best seller, Ted Bell, paperback everywhere.

PAT: Also if you have kids in school, this is the day they can really get a hero.

GLENN: Did you read the president's speech?

PAT: Yeah, that he's going to address in about an hour and a half or so?

GLENN: I don't really have a problem with it. Did something jump out at you?

PAT: No, it looks pretty innocuous, wash your hands, educate yourself, work hard.

GLENN: The problem I have with this is what are the teachers going to say afterwards. Let's not idolize the president of the United States, but I don't really have a problem. As long as there's no indoctrination in there.

PAT: Exactly.

GLENN: As long as there's not this. Where is this. Do you remember the video that we played last week or the audio that we played, do you remember the, where they say, "I pledge, I pledge, I pledge." Do you still have that?

PAT: Yeah.

VOICE: I pledge... to be a servant to our president.

GLENN: Okay. That pledge, that was played at Obama's inauguration. But it was also played at a school in Utah. This is the kind of thing that is insidious. On this this came from a watchdog. On this video it says USAservice.org. Go to USAservice.org. Then it jumps you into service.gov. Why do you have to have USAservice.org which by the way, if you go there, it collects information. Then service.gov. That then goes into national service.gov, a catalyst for change. So each along the way each one is gathering information on you, but it's no longer community service. It's national service. Taking you further and further away from your own community. These are the kinds of things that concern me. Because I think that there is something and you will see on some of the other czars that we're going to bring forward, we've already brought them forward but we're just going to keep drilling down and drilling down and drilling down and drilling down and see what's at the bottom of this because we're looking to understand the president's policies.

Sen. Ted Cruz: NOBODY should be afraid of Trump's Supreme Court justice pick

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to weigh in on President Donald Trump's potential Supreme Court nominees and talk about his timely new book, "One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History."

Sen. Cruz argued that, while Congressional Democrats are outraged over President Trump's chance at a third court appointment, no one on either side should be afraid of a Supreme Court justice being appointed if it's done according to the founding documents. That's why it's crucial that the GOP fills the vacant seat with a true constitutionalist.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to talk about why he believes President Donald Trump will nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death.

Lee, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that will consider and vote on the nominee, also weighed in on another Supreme Court contender: Judge Barbara Lagoa. Lee said he would not be comfortable confirming Lagoa without learning more about her history as it pertains to upholding the U.S. Constitution.

This week on the Glenn Beck Podcast, Glenn spoke with Vox co-founder Matthew Yglesias about his new book, "One Billion Americans: The Case for Thinking Bigger."

Matthew and Glenn agree that, while conservatives and liberals may disagree on a lot, we're not as far apart as some make it seem. If we truly want America to continue doing great things, we must spend less time fighting amongst ourselves.

'A convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists': Why is the New York Times defending George Soros?

On the "Glenn Beck Radio Program" Tuesday, Glenn discussed the details of a recent New York Times article that claims left-wing billionaire financier George Soros "has become a convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists who have falsely claimed that he funds spontaneous Black Lives Matter protests as well as antifa, the decentralized and largely online, far-left activist network that opposes President Trump."

The Times article followed last week's bizarre Fox News segment in which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared to be censored for criticizing Soros (read more here). The article also labeled Glenn a "conspiracy theorist" for his tweet supporting Gingrich.
