GLENN: That would be crazy, try to sell our book. I mean, jeez.
PAT: Yeah, you know what?
GLENN: What?
PAT: I've been listening to you bad mouth Michael Moore's new movie, Capitalism: A Love Story, for months now. I'm sick of it.
GLENN: I really don't think I've mentioned it really.
PAT: I'm sick of it. I saw it over the weekend.
GLENN: Yeah.
PAT: It's awesome.
GLENN: Really?
PAT: It's awesome.
GLENN: Really?
PAT: That movie is the feel good movie of the year, Glenn.
GLENN: I didn't know that.
PAT: You know what he does?
GLENN: What?
PAT: He yells at those evil AIG executives with a bullhorn and stuff.
GLENN: Yeah.
PAT: Outside their big building.
GLENN: Yeah.
PAT: It's a riot.
GLENN: You know, funny you should mention the word "riot." Isn't it interesting a day after the anticapitalist movie premiered in Pittsburgh, anticapitalist were rioting at the G 20 in Pittsburgh. I mean, if I were as ridiculous as let's say a numbskull at MSNBC, I might actually blame Michael Moore for the violence. But again that would make me a numbskull, wouldn't it?
PAT: Yeah. And that would just show your stupidity. Michael Moore isn't preaching the hateful hating hater hatred hateness that you are.
GLENN: Right.
PAT: He's just giving the facts.
GLENN: That's all he's doing.
PAT: Like there's no one watching the store anymore. There's no regulation on anyone.
GLENN: Oh, I know.
PAT: Right now.
GLENN: For the banks.
PAT: No regulation.
GLENN: The banks, for example, they only have the FDIC to answer to with all their regulations.
PAT: I know.
GLENN: And the Federal Reserve and all of theirs, and the OCC, Office of Controller of the Currency, and the OTC, Office of Thrift Supervision. There are literally hundreds of regulations and restrictions on the banks.
PAT: Since when?
GLENN: Whenever the government gets involved, it's always a treat and you should check out Page 17 of Arguing With Idiots. The government is involved in everything, many times over when it comes to regulation. You'll see on Page 17 that there are up to 12 different agencies responsible for more than 35 food safety laws. 541 clean air, water and waste programs spread over 29 different agencies. 40 different programs aimed at job training that are administered by seven different federal agencies. 50 programs to aid the homelessness run by eight different agencies, and I could go on. But do you really think Michael Moore's socialist or communist agenda is the answer here?
PAT: Well, no. For you I think the answer might be to cut back on the lard sandwiches so you can at least have some hope of looking at least as good on screen as Michael Moore does. I mean, your fat face doesn't even fit on Fox alone anymore.
GLENN: Do you really?
PAT: Takes up Fox, Fox Business, CNBC, MSNBC, the Food Network, Discovery, the National Geographic channel...
