![]() Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government by Glenn Beck |
PAT: Last night on TV the I guess at least, what, the first 20 minutes or so were preempted by the president's announcement. I'm sure that's absolute, that's just pure coincidence. He never talk he never comes on at 5:00 in the afternoon Eastern. What was that about? But yesterday he chose 5:00 in the afternoon to come on and make his little speech. Because we don't want you to miss the first part of the show, it was exceptionally good and something you have to know about the structure that's put in place. We're going to replay that tonight on Fox. You get information about the structure that's being put in place and that will be on at 5:00. Make sure you're watching Fox news at 5:00 Eastern which is, of course, 2:00 Pacific. 888 727 BECK, 888 727 BECK. And in part here's what Barack Obama said when he preempted the show.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Moreover I am less interested in passing out blame than I am learning from and correcting these mistakes to make us safer. For ultimately the buck stops with me. As president I have a solemn responsibility to protect our nation and our people. And when the system fails, it is my responsibility.
PAT: (Laughing). It's just, that's amazing to me. What kind of leader blames everything and everyone else for two weeks until finally, I mean, it was 13 days after the attack, or attempted attack, whatever you want to call it, 13 days after Christmas. Then he steps up to the microphone and says it's ultimately my responsibility and then actually takes none. All right. Well, what are you going to do about accepting the blame? I never heard him say I did this wrong or I did that wrong and I'm going to correct this and I'm going to correct that. None of that. When you take responsibility, it's supposed to mean something. That meant nothing yesterday. That's just blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Words like always. Meant nothing. When will his zombified followers ever get it? What will it take for the people who blindly follow Barack Obama to see who he is? I mean, how do you see all of these campaign lies, the promises broken right before your eyes. How do you see the lack of accountability? How do you see his background and not as an American citizen wake up? I don't, it's hard to the guy was mentored by a communist growing up. That's not my theory. Those are not my words. That's from his book. Frank was his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, an avowed communist. It's fact. He preferred, again, from his own mouth, the company of Marxist professors in college. He was married and attended, he was married by and attended the church of an anti American Marxist professor for 20 years. Once he becomes president, he appoints an avowed communist to oversee the green jobs program. He appoints as socialists for his energy czar. He's got an anticapitalist, Ron Brown, for manufacturing czar. Anticapitalist Mark Lloyd is the FCC diversity czar. His communications director Anita Dunn was a Mao fan from her own mouth. There's no concern about the pattern we see here? None? What? I mean, how do you look at that and say, no, that doesn't mean anything. It's conspiracy theories? I mean, it's all right there. It's all fact. Come on! Then the campaign, no lobbyists and the White House lie? That went out the first stinking day of his administration. It was so bad after about a month with the lobby thing that they quietly got rid of the rule they put in place. You don't hear them talking about no lobbyists anymore. Why? Because lobbyists are everywhere in this administration, in this White House. And they oversee things they lobbied for when they were lobbyists, something else he said would never happen. I mean, the transparency lies, the televised debate lies, the continual lies right to our faces. When do you, when do you look at it all and say, wow, this guy's not who I thought he was. I mean, he should have known in the first place but, okay, now you see all the evidence. It's presented there. It's absolute fact. I'm not making any of this up. You see it. It's in the news. All you have to do is put the stories together and you see a serious pattern of real trouble from an American president right in front of you. How do you look at that and dismiss it? It's really amazing. Even John McCain apparently starting to get it. McCain is running ads in Arizona now about Barack Obama and this is far stronger than anything John McCain did during his presidential campaign.
VOICE: He's lived through a battle or two, vanquished many a foe. But perhaps no battle in our lifetime is more vital than the one John McCain fights now.
PAT: Yes.
VOICE: A battle to save America.
PAT: Oh, now he's back.
VOICE: John McCain leads the charge to slash government spending, bloated bureaucracies, and ridiculously unaffordable ideas like government run healthcare.
SENATOR McCAIN: President Obama is leading an extreme leftwing crusade to bankrupt America.
PAT: What? Did you hear that? President Obama is reading an extreme leftwing campaign to bankrupt America.
SENATOR McCAIN: I stand in his way every day.
PAT: I stand in his way every day, my friends. I stand in his way just as I stood in his way during the campaign. And when people said we were afraid of John McCain...
SENATOR McCAIN: He is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared as president of the United States.
PAT: You don't have to be scared.
SENATOR McCAIN: Now, I just
PAT: Now, this is what makes me crazy. That's what people were afraid of, John! I can't take it. These politicians are the absolute worst. What, do you think we don't have your words from the past? We don't have videotape? Are we still in Moses' time where these things are pounded out in tablets and distributed to the people? It doesn't happen that way. We have access to your words. "My friends, fight with me, my friends, fight with me. Fight with me to defeat this nice man who's a wonderful person. And really I can't think of a reason why I'm not voting for him myself, my friends." I mean, that's the kind of stuff we heard from him during the campaign and now all of a sudden he's leading an extreme leftwing campaign. And you're right, yes, he is, but where were you before, Senator McCain? Where were you before? We wouldn't be in this situation. Of course, as Glenn says, maybe it's better that we are in this situation because people are waking up to it. I mean, it's happening at lightning speed to the point where apparently now John McCain has even awakened. My friends, what just happened? You are trying to take our country from us? Fundamental transformation of America? My friends? Yes, John. Good morning, by the way. Welcome. Welcome to America. It's being taken from you. So maybe it's a good thing. Maybe it is a good thing. It's Obama instead of McCain. Obviously McCain now hates the healthcare thing. I mean, during the campaign they were almost on the same page on any number of issues including global warming. I mean, you talk about bankrupting America, go ahead, John, pass with your friends Lindsey Graham, this atrocious climate change package as well and then let's talk about bankrupting America, my friends. 888 727 BECK. 888 727 BECK.
