GLENN: I'm going to introduce -- fact, I'm going to introduce you now. I'm going to introduce you now to the man who I believe is going to be the next President of the United States. His name is Barack Obama. The reason why I think Barack Obama's going to be the next President of the United States -- there's a lot on this. We'll get into it here in the next few minutes on this. But the reason why I think he's going to be the next President of the United States is because of hope. Might be misplaced, might be misguided. I don't even know what the guy's policies are, for the love of Pete. I mean, has anybody challenged him on any policies? Can anyone challenge him on policies? They now can because it's Democrats. But once Republicans have their chance to challenge him on policies, are you going to be called a racist? I don't know what the guy's policies are. I just know what the guy's image is. And the guy, his image is one of hope, his image is one of change, his image, he is Oprah Winfrey. He's a chick in pants in many ways. He is a guy who has a -- you want to have him over for your book club meeting. He's not a politician, and I think people are so desperate to have somebody tell them the truth, to speak from the heart that they will listen to somebody -- and I said this before September 11th, look out, gang, because you are going to get to a place to where you are going to be so desperate, you'll listen to anybody. It won't matter what their truth is. You'll just want somebody who says, I can take you out of this place. Barack Obama will take us out of this plays. Where he will lead us, I don't know. But he will take us out of this place. We are so desperate to have somebody just be real, to just say what they mean and mean what they say. They will listen to just about anybody.
It amazes me how we have so screwed up our own political system, it amazes me on how we have lost our way from our founders' vision, how we have decided that it's got to go through eight different channels before it gets to us. No, it doesn't, gang. You have the power. You are the one the Constitution talks about. We the People. You are the one, but somehow or another we allow others to convince us that's not true.
