Glenn Beck: Obama open to Puerto Rico statehood

GLENN: Here's my favorite headline of the day. Barack Obama has started a task force to look into statehood for Puerto Rico and he thinks that self determination in Puerto Rico is important and he's got a task force down there to look into it for Puerto Rico, as he thinks that's important. Where the hell is the media? When we told you that this Puerto Rican thing, we were the only people that told you, the only people that told you that what the House and the Senate were passing was just this nonbinding resolution just to support, and I told you they were going to go for Puerto Rican statehood. It was a progressive plan. Nobody reported on it. No one. And now once again you in the mainstream media have allowed your viewers, your listeners, and your readers to be completely in the dark. How many of your stupid readers and your stupid people that trust you, how many people are going to say, "Statehood, what? When did this come about?" Or will you allow it to go so far that you're going to allow the office of information with the White House to already begin their spin, so people will say, "Yeah, statehood for Puerto Rico, that's great." And while they are doing that, you will miss the next story, which is the Virgin Islands. Mark my words. The Virgin Islands, State Number 52.

How about this, media. Boy, I've got to tell you something. You people, you people in the media are despicable. What, Stu is yelling at me in the other room.

STU: Is this not a little, I mean, over the top? I mean —

GLENN: No, I don't think it is.

STU: You are being very angry and you're attacking.

GLENN: Because I can't believe — these are the people that are supposed to be the so called fourth branch of government. Where the hell are they? At what point is there a tipping point? At what point do they go, well, now, wait a minute, wait a minute, this was pointed out; wait a minute, maybe we should look into some of these things.

PAT: I think at the point where they are removing all the boxes from their office at gunpoint and they are just being ushered out of the building.

STU: Thank you for being helpful, Pat, that really helps us a lot.

PAT: I appreciate help.

GLENN: Is it a point where they have AmeriCorps at the front door?

PAT: Yeah.

GLENN: Yeah. And they are handing their Rolodex over to them?

PAT: Yeah. I mean, can you imagine the great job the AmeriCorps volunteers will do?

GLENN: Oh, it will be great.

PAT: I mean —

STU: No, seriously thank you for this. Appreciate it.

The incoming Biden administration plans to waste no time in overturning much of the progress achieved by President Donald Trump.

On his radio program Monday, Glenn Beck ran through 10 executive orders President Joe Biden plans to announce on "day one" of his time in office — including rejoining the Paris climate accord, canceling the Keystone pipeline, mask mandates on federal land and during interstate travel, and a proposed federal minimum wage of $15 an hour.

Eric Weinstein, managing director of investment firm Thiel Capital and host of "The Portal" podcast, is not a conservative, but he says conservative and center-right-affiliated media are the only ones who will still allow oppositional voices.

On "The Glenn Beck Podcast" this week, Eric told Glenn that the center-left media, which "controls the official version of events for the country," once welcomed him, but that all changed about eight years ago when they started avoiding any kind of criticism by branding those who disagree with them as "alt-right, far-right, neo-Nazi, etc.," even if they are coming from the left side of the aisle. But their efforts to discredit critical opinions don't stop there. According to Eric, there is a strategy being employed to destroy our national culture and make sure Americans with opposing views do not come together.

"We're trifling with the disillusionment of our national culture. And our national culture is what animates the country. If we lose the culture, the documents will not save us," Eric said. "I have a very strongly strategic perspective, which is that you save things up for an emergency. Well, we're there now."

In the clip below, Eric explains why, after many requests over the last few years, he finally agreed to this podcast.

Glenn Beck: Why MLK's pledge of NONVIOLENCE is the key to saving America

Listen to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s pledge of nonviolence and really let it sink in: "Remember always that the nonviolent movement seeks justice and reconciliation — not victory."

On the radio program, Glenn Beck shared King's "ten commandments" of nonviolence and the meaning behind the powerful words you may never have noticed before.

"People will say nonviolent resistance is a method of cowards. It is not. It takes more courage to stand there when people are threatening you," Glenn said. "You're not necessarily the one who is going to win. You may lose. But you are standing up with courage for the ideas that you espouse. And the minute you engage in the kind of activity that the other side is engaging in, you discredit the movement. You discredit everything we believe in."

Take MLK's words to heart, America. We must stand with courage, nonviolently, with love for all, and strive for peace and rule of law, not "winning."

Conservatives are between a rock and a hard place with Section 230 and Big Tech censorship. We don't want more government regulation, but have we moved beyond the ability of Section 230 reforms to rein in Big Tech's rising power?

Rachel Bovard, Conservative Partnership Institute's senior director of policy, joined the Glenn Beck radio program to give her thoughts and propose a possibly bipartisan alternative: enforcing our existing antitrust laws.
