GLENN: We have Jason Chaffetz on, Congressman from Utah. Jason is one of the good guys in Congress and I say that I think I can count many of them on I think I might count all of them on one hand, but maybe it will take two, but he's one of the fingers, if I'm counting the good guys in Congress. Jason, welcome to the program.

CHAFFETZ: Hey, thanks, Glenn. I appreciate it.

GLENN: I want to know a couple of things. Has anybody looked into the union organizing and the union power behind the Colbert speech and how this whole thing came together?

CHAFFETZ: Oh, yeah. I mean, I think it's pretty clear that the farm workers union was behind it. They encouraged the chairman to come out and clearly that was their push. I don't think there's any secrets about it.

GLENN: How come nobody's covering that, Jason? I mean, everybody covered that, you know, he came out and he was doing an independent you know, he was just filming something that he really felt passionately about it. He took a challenge. The challenge is from the United Farm works. So, it's a labor union and the labor union orchestrates this whole thing and nobody seems to care about that. Why is that, Jason?

CHAFFETZ: I mean, every day we could go through how many things are disappointing that are happening on Capitol Hill and the lack of reporting that happens behind it. You know, they threw his face there and I love Stephen Colbert. I've been on the show. I've leg wrestled with the guy, but this event, I mean, it was awful.

GLENN: Okay. Hold on just a second, Jason. You leg wrestled him? Is this anything like the

CHAFFETZ: He won four times in a row. He's freakishly strong. I mean, the guy is a freakishly strong guy.

GLENN: Uh huh. Do you remember the interview that ended in confession of a ticklefest from another Congressman? I mean, are we headed down this

CHAFFETZ: I remember that. I'm just throwing out myself. I went on his show. Actually I had a good time. He's the best fake newscaster on television, but to have a fake hearing on Capitol Hill, that's too much. I'm on that subcommittee but I didn't go to it. It was a waste of money, a waste of time.

GLENN: How much did it cost us?

CHAFFETZ: It cost tens of thousands of dollars. I mean, some report I saw said over $100,000 for that kind of production, but, at the very minimum, tens of thousands of taxpayers money.

GLENN: Here's what I think is going to happen here, Jason, is the people in Congress, they really don't get it and I mean the Republicans and the Democrats. You know, I hear these political pundits from the right that are just talking about, oh, well, the Republicans, Republicans, Republicans. I talk to people. I talked to somebody just last night who is a big traditional donor for the Republicans. He said, I'm done. He said, for what? For what reason? He said, I you know, I go these phone calls and I just hang up on them. I'm not interested. I'm not interested in the Democrats and I'm not interested in the Republicans. He said, I don't see it, and what they don't understand is the political system has been broken so horribly by both parties that it is it's just everything is going to pass everyone by, I think. You know? This is what Obama is doing. He is he's building structure that nobody sees because he's just bypassing system because it's broken and he can and I think the American people are building a structure themselves but it is self reliant, it is one that doesn't involve Washington at all. Does that make sense to you, Jason, at all?

Congressman Chaffetz from Utah

Official website

CHAFFETZ: It totally makes sense. I mean, every week we go back there and believe me, I'm just a freshman there. I didn't create this mess but I am trying to help clean it up and it is so disheartening when we have such big issues like the tax cuts and Afghanistan and all of these issues. This week, Glenn, we have House Resolution 1546 that Representative Inslee is putting up. It is to recognize the Washington Stealth for winning the national lacrosse men's league championship and the Speaker Pelosi, who controls the capital, she's the one who makes all of these calls, is going to give 40 minutes of debate on the floor of the House, here with just two days ago to go in Congress before the election, we're going to spend 40 minutes this week debating whether or not the Washington Stealth should be recognized for winning the men's lacrosse league championships and every week it's like this, every week.

GLENN: Jason, what do you think is going to happen?

CHAFFETZ: Here's the scary thing that I see coming up next year, regardless of who wins. When that debt ceiling question comes up, I think that's going to be one of the most telling votes out there because I tell you what, there are a whole lot of us that aren't going to raise the debt ceiling and there's no way on the current trajectory that this country is going to be able to get away without raising the debit ceiling and you're probably going to have 50 plus new members of the House who also got elected with a mandate. That's when this country is going to have a moment to say, Okay, what are we going to do? Because it's going to probably take some sort of crisis like that to actually solve the out of control spending and issues that are coming before our country.

GLENN: Jason, you're the one who brought to my attention these this sounds like a comic book thing, he's x ray vans that have been that have been purchased, 400 of them, some of them we believe are in the field of the theater of war, if you will, but some are being used domestically and I want you to explain what these are and my fear is that they have, through Cass Sunstein and through all the things that you're seeing now where they're controlling everything, every aspect of your life they have control on now, is these people will just shut this country down. They'll just lock it uptight as a drum.

CHAFFETZ: Well, think of superman. Remember how funny it was when superman had x ray vision and he could look at people through their clothes and he could see in buildings and he could see into your car. That technology is here. It's right out here today. It's produced by a company called American's Finest in Engineering. They're publicly traded. You can go look at their website, their videos and you can see their press releases. There was one, for instance, that said in May of 2010 that they sold $13.9 million worth of these vans that can see into your home, they can see into your car, and they can look at you naked and tell exactly what you're doing. Now, they've sold it's now approaching 500 of these vans, but as a lawmaker on the oversight government reform committee, I've been trying to get the administration and trying to get the company to tell me who's buying these vans. What are you doing with these vans? And there are some legitimate uses.

GLENN: Sure.

CHAFFETZ: If you've got cargo coming out of a port, I buy that. I get that.

GLENN: But why wouldn't we say why wouldn't we let at least a congressman know? I mean, it's not like you're going to take it and splash it on the front page of the paper. If we're doing something for national security because we have threats of something at the ports, which, you know, hello, or if we're using them overseas in the field of battle, well, then you're not going to say anything about it. But if we're using these domestically for any other reasons, I mean, that's that's not good. That's not good. Why won't they release that? At the same time they're going for we want to be able to have warrantless wire taps on anything that you're doing on the Internet, we can track you with GPS. They're setting the case that the Tea Party and everything else, they're domestic terrorists. I mean, that's not a good trend here, Jason

CHAFFETZ: No, no. I want to be as safe and secure as possible, but I'm not willing to give up every bit of liberty that I have and fundamentally at my core just don't trust the Federal Government. They have been illusive and I'm being generous illusive in their answers to my questions. What's imperative here is that we hold their feet to the fire because they will not confirm that they're using them not just at the ports or just overseas. You watch their promotional video and they will talk about the fact that we're going to set up these vans and then you can just roll down the street and I am not kidding you, I tell you, they can peer through the walls of your home and that scares the living daylights out of me.

GLENN: We're going to show this video on tomorrow's program, I believe. Jason, would you do one thing for me? We're also talking tonight on the TV about this this assassination order that the President has executed with, I think, it's 25 Americans and they won't say who those Americans are. The we called the White House. The White House said you have to call the who is it? national security, I think, or Homeland Security. Homeland Security said you had to call the CIA. CIA said you have to call the White House. There's been a Freedom of Information Act filed. It is sorry we can't access that information with our computers at this time was their response from the CIA and now the ACLU and their conservative counterpart filed suit against the White House and the White House is stonewalling. I mean, can you look into that at all? Can you find out anything on that?

CHAFFETZ: I will give it my best try. I really will.

GLENN: Thank you very much. Jason

CHAFFETZ: Thanks, Glenn.

GLENN: You bet. Jason Chaffetz, a Congressman from Utah and a guy who first came to my attention because he is poor and so he, you know, went to, I think it was, a Wal Mart and bought a cot when he first was sworn in and he sleeps in his office on a cot because, you know, he's not going to get comfortable and set up shop in Washington and he doesn't have a lot of money. So, that's what he's going to do.

Acclaimed environmentalist and author of "Apocalypse Never" Michael Shellenberger joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to warn us about the true goals and effects of climate alarmism: It's become a "secular religion" that lowers standards of living in developed countries, holds developing countries back, and has environmental progress "exactly wrong."

Michael is a Time "Hero of the Environment," Green Book Award winner, and the founder and president of Environmental Progress. He has been called a "environmental guru," "climate guru," "North America's leading public intellectual on clean energy," and "high priest" of the environmental humanist movement for his writings and TED talks, which have been viewed more than 5 million times. But when Michael penned a stunning article in Forbes saying, "On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologize for the Climate Scare", the article was pulled just a few hours later. (Read more here.)

On the show, Micheal talked about how environmental alarmism has overtaken scientific fact, leading to a number of unfortunate consequences. He said one of the problems is that rich nations are blocking poor nations from being able to industrialize. Instead, they are seeking to make poverty sustainable, rather than to make poverty history.

"As a cultural anthropologist, I've been traveling to poorer countries and interviewing small farmers for over 30 years. And, obviously there are a lot of causes why countries are poor, but there's no reason we should be helping them to stay poor," Michael said. "A few years ago, there was a movement to make poverty history ... [but] it got taken over by the climate alarmist movement, which has been focused on depriving poor countries, not just of fossil fuels they need to develop, but also the large hydroelectric dams."

He offered the example of the Congo, one of the poorest countries in the world. The Congo has been denied the resources needed to build large hydroelectric dams, which are absolutely essential to pull people out of poverty. And one of the main groups preventing poor countries from the gaining financing they need to to build dams is based in Berkeley, California — a city that gets its electricity from hydroelectric dams.

"It's just unconscionable ... there are major groups, including the Sierra Club, that support efforts to deprive poor countries of energy. And, honestly, they've taken over the World Bank [which] used to fund the basics of development: roads, electricity, sewage systems, flood control, dams," Micheal said.

"Environmentalism, apocalyptic environmentalism in particular, has become the dominant religion of supposedly secular people in the West. So, you know, it's people at the United Nations. It's people that are in very powerful positions who are trying to impose 'nature's order' on societies," he continued. "And, of course, the problem is that nobody can figure out what nature is, and what it's not. That's not a particular good basis for organizing your economy."

Dr. Voddie Baucham, Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, joined Glenn Beck on the radio program to explain why he agrees with Vice President Mike Pence's refusal to say the phrase "Black Lives Matter."

Baucham, who recently drew national attention when his sermon titled "Ethnic Gnosticism" resurfaced online, said the phrase has been trademarked by a dangerous, violent, Marxist movement that doesn't care about black lives except to use them as political pawns.

"We have to separate this movement from the issues," Baucham warned. "I know that [Black Lives Matter] is a phrase that is part of an organization. It is a trademark phrase. And it's a phrase designed to use black people.

"That phrase dehumanizes black people, because it makes them pawns in a game that has nothing whatsoever to do with black people and their dignity. And has everything to do with a divisive agenda that is bigger than black people. That's why I'm not going to use that phrase, because I love black people. I love being black."

Baucham warned that Black Lives Matter -- a radical Marxist movement -- is using black people and communities to push a dangerous and divisive narrative. He encouraged Americans to educate themselves on the organization's agenda and belief statement.

"This movement is dangerous. This movement is vicious. And this movement uses black people," he emphasized. "And so if I'm really concerned about issues in the black community -- and I am -- then I have to refuse, and I have to repudiate that organization. Because they stand against that for which I am advocating."

On last week's Wednesday night special, Glenn Beck revealed where the Black Lives Matter organization really gets its funding, and the dark money trail leading to a cast of familiar characters. Shortly after the program aired, one of BLM's fiscal sponsors, Thousand Currents, took down its board of directors page, which featured one of these shady characters:

Ex-Marxist professor and author of "Beyond Woke," Michael Rectenwald, joined Glenn Beck on the TV show to fill us in on the suspicious change he discovered on the Thousand Currents webpage and the Communist terrorists who is now helping run the organization. (Fortunately, the internet is forever, so it is still possible to view the board of directors page by looking at a web archive from the WayBack Machine.)

Rectenwald revealed the shocking life history of Thousand Currents' vice chair of the board, Susan Rosenberg, who spent 16 years in federal prison for her part in a series of increasingly violent acts of terrorism, including bombing the U.S. Capitol building, bombing an FBI building, and targeting police for assassination.

"Their whole campaign was one of unbelievably vicious, murderous cop killings, assassinations, and bombings," explained Rectenwald of Rosenberg's terror group known as the May 19th Communist Organization or M19.
