Class #1: America’s Founding Principles
Part 1: Divine Providence vs. Manifest Destiny – An Overview
- Professor: Dr. Peter Lillback,
President of the Providence Forum and author of Sacred Fire
- Brief Course Description: This lecture will provide a brief introduction into the history of Divine Providence and Manifest Destiny. Through Biblical and historical examples Dr. Lillback
will explain the difference between the two concepts.
Part 2: America: The History of a Republic…not a Democracy
- Professor: Jim Best, author of Tempest at Dawn
- Brief Course Description: Through historical documents and anecdotes, Jim Best will explain why the original intent for America was a republic and not a democracy. In his lecture, Mr. Best will address such principles as unalienable rights and the importance of a written constitution.

Part 1: The First Era of Big Government: How Andrew Jackson Destroyed the Republic

- Brief Course Description:In this class, Professor Forstchen will examine the how two great leaders inspired a nation to return to its original principles.

Part 1: The Original Progressives: Teddy Roosevelt & Woodrow Wilson
- Professor: Kevin Portteus, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Politics at Hillsdale College

This class will examine the progressive principles that shaped two presidents and examine how the administrations of and the policies set forth change our country forever.
Part 2: The Most Famous Progressive – Franklin Delano Roosevelt
