GLENN: You know who I'm really impressed with is this 20 year old Mexican girl who has taken on the job of cleaning up corruption in her town. Have you been following this?
PAT: Yeah, she signed on to be sheriff, right?
GLENN: Is it sheriff or mayor?
PAT: I thought it was sheriff, but
GLENN: I thought it was, too, but now that I'm saying it, it seems like it's mayor. But I think she is sheriff. Yeah. Here's a here's a 20 something, 20 years old who is going in and doing some of the most dangerous work. I mean, our soldiers, our soldiers would take a deep breath before they took this job. They would do it, but here's a 20 year old girl who is like, "We've got to clean our town up." She is asking now, she says, we only have one police car and four guns. She's asking for help of the Mexican people. Tonight I'm going to highlight this a little bit and give you her e mail address in case somebody has an extra cop car they want to give this town in Mexico. I mean, my gosh.
PAT: The last sheriff was murdered there, right?
GLENN: Yeah, yeah. And I think the mayor has been murdered. I mean, you know, the border towns are, they're just killing everybody. Anybody who stands they'll kill. Do we have this kind of courage? Do we have the kind of courage to stand, to really stand. This is what I talked to you about a couple of years ago. I said you're going to need to know what you believe in and why. You're going to need to know because you're going to you're going to be forced to stand at some point.
Look what's happening right now. Our schools are under siege. Our churches are under siege. Our monetary system, under siege. Our business ethics, under siege. Political system, all of it, all of it. So how do you repair it? The problem is so big, how do you repair it? Well, I know this sounds foolish to a lot of people, but first of all, if we're only getting 40% out of the American people at this time in our history to vote, you got an issue. You got a lot you're going to know how big our problem is. If the turnout is 35%, you're going to know how big our problem is, especially if the races are close. If it's 35% and they're blowouts, it means that one side stayed home. But if it's close and it's only 35%, that means only 35% of this population is actively engaged. A republic cannot stand with that. It will not stand. It's We the People. And if we don't have the, not encourage, if we don't care enough, how do you muster up the courage to stand if you don't care enough at this point? I guess maybe things you know, I keep thinking the American people, this is why a republic they say will always lose to state capitalism, which is what they're calling communism now in China, state capitalism. They say it will always lose because you don't have a dictator or a strongman at the top telling people you've got to move now. They have to figure it out on their own and so they're slow. But the American people have always come to the defense at the last moment. I don't think we're at the last moment but we're approaching it. See how many people show up to turn up to vote next week.
