GLENN: Here's the story on Broke. About a year, year and a half ago people started saying tell us what to do, Glenn, tell us what the answer is, what's the answer? And I was responding, I don't know, I don't know what the answer is. I'm just like you. Well, I announced at the time I was going to bring a book called The Plan. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be and I thought it was going to be pretty hard. I got the best minds around. I got the best people I could find. The top of business, the top of law, the top of I don't think I went to any politicians. I went to old politicians and said tell me about the worst of the worst, tell me what needs to be done. And my objective was don't tell me what you think can be done. Don't tell me what's possible. Tell me what needs to be done. Because the American, the American people, you know, we went to war in Germany. We didn't say, well, I don't know, we only have so many ships. We said we must defeat Hitler. When the pioneers crossed the Rocky Mountains, they didn't say, well, we'll do this. They said we must get over to the other side of these mountains. People will figure out how to get there. But what are the goals? Well, it took us over a year to write. It doesn't take us a year to write books. This is the hardest book we've ever written. It is 50 pages of fine print footnotes. The first third is history, and the history that I haven't even shared with you. Some of it you've heard. But it is all there in black and white with footnotes so you know, this is exactly what the truth is. This is how we got here. This is how we changed.

The second third is Common Sense on steroids, what the problem is. But you know the problem. You don't know how big the problem is until you read this. It will boggle your mind. But it also involves the cover-up, which is important. How are the politicians covering the tracks? How is it that nobody knows about this? And all of the tricks that they use.

And then the last part is the plan, what do we do. This is the big picture. I will tell you that I am extraordinarily proud of this book. I wanted to write something that could be on people's shelves for a long, long time and would be able to be I mean, the original idea was I wanted a 100 year plan. Start thinking like the Chinese. Well, I want you to read this book because it will, it will show you the way out. It will show you the way out. But if it just sits on the shelves of the bookstores, if it just sits on the shelves of a library some place, if the American people don't look at the plan, it won't happen. But I'm telling you everything you find in the plan you will find in the original words of the founders as well. Because everybody that came to me I had meetings with 30 experts around tables for the last year, 30 experts that sit around and they would be discussing stuff and I would just listen and write things down. And as I'm writing them down, everything I wrote down the founders already did. The founders had already talked about.

So what is it we're missing? Read it now. It's in bookstores everywhere today. You can also find it at GlennBeck.com, Amazon.com or wherever books are sold. It's called Broke: Restoring America's Truth, Trust and Treasure

Sen. Ted Cruz: NOBODY should be afraid of Trump's Supreme Court justice pick

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to weigh in on President Donald Trump's potential Supreme Court nominees and talk about his timely new book, "One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History."

Sen. Cruz argued that, while Congressional Democrats are outraged over President Trump's chance at a third court appointment, no one on either side should be afraid of a Supreme Court justice being appointed if it's done according to the founding documents. That's why it's crucial that the GOP fills the vacant seat with a true constitutionalist.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to talk about why he believes President Donald Trump will nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death.

Lee, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that will consider and vote on the nominee, also weighed in on another Supreme Court contender: Judge Barbara Lagoa. Lee said he would not be comfortable confirming Lagoa without learning more about her history as it pertains to upholding the U.S. Constitution.

This week on the Glenn Beck Podcast, Glenn spoke with Vox co-founder Matthew Yglesias about his new book, "One Billion Americans: The Case for Thinking Bigger."

Matthew and Glenn agree that, while conservatives and liberals may disagree on a lot, we're not as far apart as some make it seem. If we truly want America to continue doing great things, we must spend less time fighting amongst ourselves.

'A convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists': Why is the New York Times defending George Soros?

On the "Glenn Beck Radio Program" Tuesday, Glenn discussed the details of a recent New York Times article that claims left-wing billionaire financier George Soros "has become a convenient boogeyman for misinformation artists who have falsely claimed that he funds spontaneous Black Lives Matter protests as well as antifa, the decentralized and largely online, far-left activist network that opposes President Trump."

The Times article followed last week's bizarre Fox News segment in which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared to be censored for criticizing Soros (read more here). The article also labeled Glenn a "conspiracy theorist" for his tweet supporting Gingrich.
