From TheBlaze.com: Dean -- Government Should Pick Guests on Fox & MSNBC Because Ignorant Americans Don’t Know What’s Going On |
GLENN: I want to I want you to meet our new guest screener, the person who is going to be screening all of our guests on the TV show and making sure because the people are too stupid to be able to figure out who, you know, who should be on television. Here he is, Howard Dean.
DEAN: What would I do about the media? Oh, God, I don't know. We have a strong First Amendment which has served us well in this country. You know, what I think I would do is first I would bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
PAT: Of course, of course.
DEAN: So you couldn't have the respect of a Fox flues
PAT: A what?
DEAN: which just makes stuff up and is a propaganda outlet. You would actually have to have some sensate human beings talking to the other side. And it would serve MSNBC would have to do the same. It would have to have some conservatives on there, too. I think that's much better for the country. I mean, this business, this division for the country where you can pick your poison and then poison yourself in the media is not so good for the country. So I'd bring back the Fairness Doctrine. The level of ignorance about what's in the Constitution is just a calling. It's just incredible. I got such a kick out of the Tea Party that wanted us to enforce the Constitution and then when somebody pointed out what the Seventeenth and Fourteenth Amendment said, well, we can get rid of those. I mean, people Americans don't know what's going on and therefore the media can have their way with them at election.
GLENN: Yeah. You know, here's the thing, Howie. You can get rid of any parts of the Constitution, at any time. You just have to do it the right way.
STU: Yeah, you'll remember us overturning the progressives' prohibition amendment.
GLENN: Yeah, we can just get rid of that.
STU: That's the correct way.
GLENN: Yeah, we did.
STU: That's how you do it.
GLENN: That's how you do it. You have to have the discussion instead of just saying, we're not going to we're not going to discuss things. You notice that there's no sensate human beings over at Fox, there's nobody.
PAT: I mean, that's just appalling. That's ridiculous. How many liberals does Fox have on the network? Many.
GLENN: Yeah.
PAT: Not just guests, either. There are some who actually host programs. I mean
GLENN: Yes.
PAT: Yeah.
GLENN: Can you think of any?
PAT: I can.
GLENN: Yes, you can, yes.
PAT: I mean, they come immediately, they spring immediately to mind.
GLENN: To mind, yes, yes.
PAT: This idea, this notion, as I have clearly stated in the past that there are no there's no dissenting points of view on Fox is just ridiculous. That's unbelievable.
GLENN: Well, it doesn't matter. Because, look, you once they start going down this trail, they're done.
