Building a temporary museum exhibit in the middle of a very active radio and television studio is no easy feat. But
Mercury One, the nonprofit humanitarian aid and education organization Glenn founded in 2011, has taken on the challenge. And, as you'll see in the photos below, it's starting to take shape.

The special exhibition, "12 Score & 3 Years Ago: The Unfinished Promise of Unity," will run from June 28th to July 7th at Mercury Studios in Irving, Texas, providing guests with an immersive experience exploring slavery and abolition and celebrating the lives of black heroes and innovators in the United States.

It won't be politically correct, Glenn promised his radio listeners earlier this week.

"Quite honestly, everyone has advised me not to do this museum," Glenn said during his radio program Tuesday. "We have gone over it over and over and over again, and I refuse to make it politically correct. I am only going to tell the truth, through the objects and through verifiable facts about what slavery is."

With over 100 artifacts, photographs and historical documents, five eye-opening augmented reality experiences and educational tools, the popup-museum will provide visitors with fascinating insights into our country's history and equip them to leave as modern-day abolitionists.

The truth is painful.

Because of the subject matter, Glenn explained this is not the type of event that is likely to draw massive crowds. But that does not diminish the importance of the event. "We rely on Divine Providence," Glenn said, explaining that this is one of those moments he knows will have eternal consequences.

"If you are anywhere within the sound of my voice, I urge you to come," Glenn said. "I would like to see you here. But if not, I am content that the people who are here are the right ones — the ones who will take this on and change the world and teach their children what truth really is — without a trigger warning. The truth is painful."

Tickets are available for purchase online (HERE) or may be purchased at the door upon arrival.

Watch as Glenn and David Barton talk about what guests can expect to see at the event.

If you went to a showing of Unplanned this weekend, chances are you left a changed person. If you were on the fence about abortion, this was a powerful insight into the truth the abortion industry doesn't want you to know. If you are an avid pro-lifer, you left not only convicted of the evils of abortion but sensed a call to act.

The movie industry tried their best to hold this movie down, but it opened up at number four over the weekend, and received a rare A+ cinema score. Only two movies a year on average receive such a high rating.

Glenn hopped on a flight to Utah along with his wife Tania and his son Raphe. When they showed up at the venue, sure, they rubbed elbows with some big wigs, but they also took advantage of the opportunity to spend time with the fans. Take a look through the photos below and get a sneak peak into a day in the life of the Becks. Make sure to watch the video at the end — Glenn's introduction to the movie will have you in tears!

When the boss gets hungry, what's gonna be on the plate?

Part newsroom, part soundstage and part historical museum, Mercury Studios is home to Glenn Beck's companies, Mercury Radio Arts and TheBlaze. Every position in this fast-paced environment is important to keep things running smoothly. But one role that's often overlooked is that of Glenn's personal chef.

<rm-nested-posts ids="2566580528" template="related_blog"></rm-nested-posts>

What is it like to be responsible for satisfying the culinary cravings of Mr. Beck himself? We decided to find out. (We may have bitten off more than we could chew.)

Here is his story, in his own words.

Matthew Shelton, Glenn's Personal Chef

Got to be honest with you, Glenn, I thought I hated your guts.

I see a lot of [Glenn] and I’m around him a lot. I see what he’s trying to do and what he has done. And it’s unbelievable. And I wish, somehow, we could capture that. I challenge any person on this planet to sit down with him and just eat, have a meal, eat a bowl of cereal. And you will like him. Even if you hate his guts.

Ten years ago, that wouldn’t have been the case. But today, absolutely. We travel all over the country with him. I see him meet these people who literally despise him walking into the place. And they always go, "Got to be honest with you, Glenn, I thought I hated your guts, but you make a lot of sense."

Really good timing.

I got here because of really good timing and a level of trust that was kind of naturally there. Glenn had some health issues come up and he needed somebody that was 24/7 and had more of a relationship than just a random person would have. So, he actually had my father [Robert Shelton, who previously filled in temporarily as Glenn's chef] look at some of the resumes that were submitted to be his chef and they were crazy. They were asking for gigantic salaries and crazy vacation time, all this stuff. And, Glenn just felt uncomfortable with all of it.

And one day he called me up and said, “Hey, would you ever want to be my chef?” And I wasn’t a trained chef at the time. And, I was like, “Um, I have no idea. What does that entail?” And he basically said, "You know, travel with me. I have a really strict diet” --- there were crazy limitations on what he could and couldn’t eat --- and I said, “Sure.”

And so, we did a three-month test period and I’m in his home, I’m with his wife and kids, and we travel together. I go up to their family ranch with them for three weeks at a time. It’s a very intimate, close relationship which has grown even stronger over the years. But I wasn’t very qualified for it and then it was --- ok, well, learn as you go. So, I went to nutrition school for eight months and really learned. You know, I knew how to make chicken taste good, but I didn’t know the point of why it was good for you and how to prepare it with certain things to make it better.

My biggest compliment is a completely clean plate.

I have a very unique look on food and my career. It’s way more than just a job. I really enjoy it.

It’s quite exciting, because now I get compliments and I’m like, "Man, I get to cook for some really cool people." My biggest compliment is a completely clean plate. You don’t have to tell me anything. But if the plates completely empty, I don’t care how hungry you are. If something doesn’t taste good, you’re not gonna eat it.

So, I see that now and I’m like, man I’m only 30. And my father is mid-50s and he is still learning. It’s pretty impressive.

I’m all about quality of life.

It’s funny, because my mom is Canadian and my dad is from the South. So, it’s like two drastically different cuisines growing up. And, my dad’s mom, when we were kids, every Christmas morning would make biscuits and gravy from scratch. And it’s my favorite meal. It’s so good. We’d have a huge portion of biscuits and gravy. It was amazing.

So, as I got older, she got dementia. And so, one Christmas the biscuits and gravy weren’t being made properly. And we were like, Grandma, what’d you just put in there? So, my father pulled me aside and said, “Learn how to make biscuits and gravy.” So now, every Christmas, I make biscuits and gravy from scratch. And it's tradition. And it’s so bad for you, but so unbelievably delicious that it doesn’t matter.

Quality of life, you know what I mean? Do an extra sit-up. I’m all about quality of life.

People talk about, you know, eating nutritious, and I wholeheartedly back that. It’s just, why not pro-long your life for as long as you can? Trust me, I love cheeseburgers and I still eat cheeseburgers. But I exercise to counteract that. I always preach to people --- quality of life. Eat the pizza! Pizza is unbelievable, right? Make sure you do something to balance that out.

The world knows him as Glenn Beck, the radio host, the author, the TV commentator. But who is Glenn Beck, the friend, the co-worker, the mentor?

Join us on a journey into the heart of Mercury Studios, where Glenn spends a huge portion of his life, and meet the people he works with every day. These are real, first-hand accounts about Glenn from within the walls of his own studios --- told by those who interact with him on a daily basis.

Here are their stories in their own words.

Misheal Simpson, Executive Assistant

Glenn is really funny. You get a taste of it, but he is hilarious. If you just spend a little bit of time, there’s always going to be some joke. There’s always going to be something.

It’s funny teaching him about culture.

One of my favorite things --- we were going somewhere and I had found this article and was like, “Gah, black don’t crack!”

And he’s like “What?!” and we’re literally looking at this article of famous African American actors and he couldn't believe this person was 50 and this person was 60, and I’m like, “'Cause black don’t crack!” And he is just so funny, he says that now.

So, I’ve been teaching him the cultural cool things.

He’s so genuine. He is all about growth. He would rather you find a new job versus having you be here and be miserable.

He wants people to grow. He wants people to be doing the things they enjoy doing.

Jason Buttrill, Writer/Researcher

I was his bodyguard for a couple of years before I started working over here.

I remember there was this one time where he had a town hall meeting back when the company was still based in New York. They called this meeting and all the employees went to it. It was at some really cool New York locale. I don’t even remember the subject matter or what he was talking about, but he was so passionate about everything he was doing.

A lot of people might know this about Glenn, but when you’re an employee working for him --- especially when he gets really fired up and inspired about stuff --- it’s really moving to witness and to be a part of.

I saw that and I was like, "Oh my gosh, this is the type of company I want to work for." I had no idea at the time that’s what I eventually was going to be doing. But, just seeing that as an outsider, you knew there was something different about Glenn --- something different.

From the get-go, he was always about empowering people. So, he gets talented people around him and he empowers people.

Just being around the guy and listening to how he is so passionate about things, you can’t help but be inspired. And as luck would have it, a couple years later I was actually working for him.

Really, that feeling has stuck with me the entire time. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of his town hall stuff, but just recently, when he unveiled some of the "EPIC" stuff --- that’s like classic Glenn. That’s Glenn when he is fully invested in a topic. When you see how inspired he is about that and how excited he is, you can’t help but have these explosions of ideas.

That’s the best way to describe it. Literally, everyone who listens to him and sees how passionate he is about these things, you have an explosion of ideas. And that’s just all part of his character and who he is.

Jessica Sanchez, Merchandising Manager

I started working here November 2014, and at that point in my life, I was very torn with my faith --- what I believed in, how I believed things were, and really at a point in my life where I was kind of struggling.

Career-wise, also, because I had just left a career that I had been at for ten years that was super exhausting to me. I came here and took an extreme pay cut to then just do admin work. And I did it for myself, first of all, to kind of just make things not so hectic, not so crazy in my life.

But I still didn’t have faith.

Well, then I started working with the "All Lives Matter" campaign. We started the campaign with Mercury One and we went to Birmingham and we did a big march. We marched the same march that Martin Luther King marched. It was a big drawn-out thing. Through the whole process, the whole thing was about unity, about faith, about all your spirituality, about what you believe in.

And Glenn was really big on prayer. We had morning prayers with the company. You constantly saw him walking around with his scriptures. Seeing that made me want to look more into my spirituality and my faith and what I believed in. I think just seeing him and the process we went through and that whole campaign --- it made me kind of take a look at my own life and what I needed to do and what changes I needed to make.

I ended up thinking, if a man like Glenn can make a decision based on scripture, based off of something that he reads, because he fully, wholeheartedly believes that’s what God is telling him, then why can’t I?

So, when I was in Birmingham, I decided to finally give myself to Christ. It was the first time ever in my whole life that I had actually felt the presence of God and a change. And it was all because I was a part of that campaign.

Glenn has changed my life in my spirituality and my faith and has really taught me to go for what I believe in and not care about what anybody else is saying.
