Mercury One would like to invite you to be a neighbor in your community to help us restore the human spirit through simple — yet impactful — random acts of kindness and volunteer opportunities on November 16, 2019.

This nationwide Be A Neighbor Campaign, hosted by VOMO in association with the film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, allows us to honor the legacy of Mr. Rogers and the impact he made in communities across the world.

You can join the movement by partaking in volunteer opportunities in participating cities, like Dallas, or you can create change from anywhere in the United States.

By request a photo tour of the restored cabin. I start doing the interior design in earnest tomorrow after the show, but all of the construction guys are now done. So I mopped the floors, washed the sheets, some friends helped by washing the windows. And now the unofficial / official tour.

The fireplace by the way is a propane box. We have heated floors but we lost power last winter and if it wasn't for the gas, we would have had indoor temps of at least ten below. These we can actually set a temp and in the main house 2 fireplaces kept the house at 69 when it was 20 below out side. And held it for two weeks!

I just put these three things together to get them out of the way and ended up loving it. Old wood skis, a very old Buddha and one of my pop art Indians.

The bear rug, I think maybe we will hang on the wall of the bedroom. Inside the bedroom are these great I bought them from the place that makes all of the lighting for Disney Parks. They are beautiful.

Under the two gold panning plate lights we will put 2 dressers. (Going antiquing this weekend.)

Kitchen

Next is the kitchen, these beautiful cabinets were made here in town by Jensen's. And they are stunning. They hadn't ever made cabinets out of this wood before. I am guessing they will again. I love great hand craftsmanship. In fact the guy who installed the floors came by today to see if everything was good. He is an artist as well.

And of course the stove that is just a year or so younger than the cabin itself. I can't imagine how exciting it would have been for that to arrive on the back of a Wells Fargo wagon. In 1882 it must have been a thing of real beauty and high tech.
