Wisdom.
Today's Readings:
Question:
Where do you receive your wisdom from? Are you asking for wisdom from God?
Yesterday I was having a conversation with my "prayer ladies." A collection of wonderful grandmothers who have volunteered to pray for our mission. I meet with them once or twice a week and we pray together. We discussed how the obedience time (the time between a prompting - "don't strike back, change jobs, or call the children" - and our actually doing it) needs to dramatically shortened.
Many times we will seek answers from The Lord and He will tell us. When we agree we tend to act right away. When we do not agree, we tend to mull it over or ask a few more times, "just to be sure." We need to become more obedient. The time will be here before we know it, where we need to be so obedient that if he says "turn around and walk the other way," we do it and ask Him again for verification as we are walking the other direction.
We need to be good at listening and obeying. This is what our trip to Birmingham is about. Training us to be Gideon's Warriors. There may only be 300 of us really willing to stand at first. But, we will be His 300.
Application:
Today, ask God for wisdom.
MLK Pledge - #8:
Refrain from the violence of fist, tongue, or heart.
Quotes:
“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates
“The best way to obtain truth and wisdom is not to ask from books, but to go to God in prayer, and obtain divine teaching." - Joseph Smith, Jr.
