Why isn’t this woman in the top tier of candidates?

    • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

Because the establishment is afraid of what she could do to upset their applecart

    • TylerDurden

Because she says ridiculous things, like the HPV vaccine could make you retarded, or that the Lion King will make you gay.

      • Anonymous

Yeah, when on earth did he say that? Give your evidence.

        • TylerDurden

          He? Do you mean she?

        • http://twitter.com/JamieLadnier Jamie Ladnier

She did say it. Quit being lazy and look it up. She weakly back peddled  on Leno when she got called out. Saying that she took the word of someone she met on the campaign trail. Get your head out of the mud and do some research.

          • Anonymous

Whoa lady. I know i do plenty of research, however i have school occupying my time! Stop throwing “mud” and “head” around. I hold my own against the likes of most adults so hold on to your pants becuase your “doing reserach crap” already is part of my time. I had no exclamation marks giving obvious notice that i’m yelling. But, i wasn’t, simple question and you had to go and smother it. Go and do your own research of how to communicate before you rub sand paper all over my comments when so oftenly are remarks to do research. Thank you for telling me where i will look at it. Aren’t we all human, there are imperfections even over some questions. I’m sure you do back peddling in your life too.

          • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

I guess by now you know many posters don’t get past the hyperbole of unfounded sensationalism. I too saw interviews with Michelle on Leno et. al., and what she said and the way it was spun by those looking for fault, well nothing they said could be further from the truth. She is candid about her slips and I believe she to be an elegant thoughtful lady. I believe Thetophawk and Adriane above countered this absurdity most succinctly. The government has NO business forcing unproven drugs on our children. Another horrible drug that caused birth defects and was tested on pregnant women in the late 50’s was thalidomide. Now I will go off the deep end. While providing care and counseling for troubled teens, I and my staffs didn’t show many Disney films without being prepared to work through the emotional trauma triggered by the, at times, harsh underlying social themes of these movies. Of course children like some adults can be histrionic. In closing, did you notice when the lack of foundation for honest debate was uncovered, the grammer and spelling police came out.

Can you, please, provide some information to back this statement?  Rather than me trying to recreate the wheel by finding it, would you please provide some supporting links for your statements?

        • Anonymous

Just Google Michele Bachman along with the terms “lion king” and “HPV” and you will find pages of links providing her exact quotes. Her crazy statements are well documented and easy to find. No need to re-invent the wheel, just type a few words into a search engine.

          • Anonymous

I took you up on your offer and did a little google searching (not the most reliable method). It turns out she gave an example of how something as innocuous as The Lion King could be used by a teacher with a social agenda because of the Elton John song. She was neither bashing The Lion King nor Elton John but hey if the facts don’t fit just force them right?

As far as the gardasil story she was likely in error but there are reports of major reactions to Gardasil. The CDC has received reports called “Permanent Disability.” What these were and whether they can be traced back to Gardasil has apparently not yet been resolved. What was lost in the usual leftist smoke screen was the point that government should not be usurping the health decisions of parents according to Mrs Bachman and many people across America.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000164494569 Adriane Peterson

I applaud her for what she said about Gardisil, big Pharma is in control of our medical system these days, driving up the cost of medical care and leaving people with some terrible side effects. I’ve seen news reports and read about reactions to Gardisil causing permanent seizures. We need to stop being sheeple and lining up for every vaccine, especially when the pharmacuetical companies have immunity from being sued over reactions to their vaccines – upside for them – make billions, downside? none. I totally agree that government should never usurp the health decisions of parents.

John, your unprovoked display of hostility would indicate
you have some serious anger issues that you need to work on. Robin requested
verification of the information that TylerDurden had posted and I merely
replied with a suggestion how to, with less effort than wheel reinvention, find
Bachmann’s exact statements. Robin followed my suggestions, read the quotes and
made her/his own interpretation of them. Other than that the only thing I said
was that Michele Bachmann makes crazy statements which is not a lie but rather
an opinion, to which I am entitled. Apparently you surmised that I wasn’t one

Why don’t you try googling the dangers of Gardasil or HPV vaccine and see that is has left many people in bad shape and should have never been allowed. The corrupt FDA has approved way too many harmful drugs, taking money and influence under the table, and this is one.As with politics and politicians, follow the money, big pharma spends tons of money on lobbyists and has become a powerful influence in Washington. If I’m not mistaken, there have been about 80 deaths attributed to Gardasil so far.

        • TylerDurden

Gardasil has not left many people in bad shape. Michele Bachmann just feels the need to make stuff up to make something she doesn’t like (premarital sex) seem worse.

Because FOX News/O’Reilly/Krauthammer — the protectors of the status quo Establishment GOP corrupt money/power train — will not allow Bachmann or any solid reformer to gain or sustain traction.  (For the past 5 months, FOX News has insisted that this is a two man race: June: Romney-Huntsman; July-August: Romney-Perry (before Perry even announced); September-October: Romney-Cain; November: Romney-Gingrich) How FOX News has any serious viewers after their track record of abject failure is simply an indictment of how bad their broadcast competition is and how vitally important GBTV is.

O’Reilly gave the “go ahead” to the rest of the media that Bachmann was a “free fire zone” when during the private one-on-one interview with Carl Cameron (the same attack dog O’Reilly used to tear down Palin with the whole McCain camp stories) Bachmann made the John Wayne flub (an absolutely meaningless mistake, probably maliciously fed to her by Ed Rollins or his “research team”).  If FOX had a private Romney flub before they recently switched to Gingrich, it would have never seen the light of day.

Bachmann’s tenacity, fearlessness and courage to pursue truth, justice and to root out the status quo corruption of the Washington establishment terrifies FOX News/O’Reilly’s masters.

When you think about it, FoxNews has publicly announced to the world they ONLY tell the truth 50% of the time.  “Fair and Balanced”  In other words, they are not interested in truth.  Their objective is NOT to tell the truth, but to be fair.  So their goal is to present the arguments of the left beside the arguments of the right and perhaps one of them will be true.

While I think there is more truth on FoxNews than the other major networks, it is odd they are the only ones with a Marxist / Progressive / Communists  moto: “Fair and Balanced”.

Glenn. Can you tell, Mrs. Bachmann, voting for Patriot Act, is voting against our Constitution. Can you explain this lady, that simple fact. I used to like her, until she voted for it.
“I swear upon the altar of God, eternal hostility to every

form of tyranny over the mind of man.”
This is Thomas Jefferson’s quote, and I second that. And Michele made her self my enemy.

While I agree with your quote from Jefferson and your feelings toward our Constitution, I would pause before writing off an otherwise positive choice because of one vote or action. Is there no room for mistakes? Can leaders not make a choice that is a mistake and still be an otherwise good leader with good morals and common sense? I’m not saying you are wrong and I certainly don’t drink the kool-aide. Currently I’m still undecided and doing my homework. I just want to know if your feelings are this deep due to any other actions/votes/words from her that might explain its depth and strength or if you have a couple of “deal-breakers” and this was one of them. (nothing wrong if you do, we all need boundaries we aren’t willing to compromise on.)

A mistake to take away one of our basic constitutional rights?

It was not a mistake. She was paid off by someone.

She also voted for the Defense authorization act this year. That one allows the military to declare the homeland a Battlefield and allows them to take away american citizens no judge or jury or search warrant,… nothing

    Newt is a “frugal socialist.”

Here are just a few of Newt’s past comments which should tell you everything that you need to know about Newt:

Newt on Franklin D. Roosevelt and his statist New Deal: “The greatest figure of the 20th century, the truth is we [Newt and the crony Conservatives in congress] would have voted for much of it, he [FDR] did bring us out of the Depression.”

With friends like Newt, who needs enemies like FDR or his clone, the neoFDR, Obama?

Murry N Rothbard, who was one of the greatest libertarians of the 20th century, made the following assessment of Newt: “Accepting as truth the most damaging anti-capitalist cliche of the century (i.e. “FDR did bring us out of the Depression”) Gingrich reveals his ignorance of history as well as of economics.”

If you honestly scrutinize Newt’s record, then you quickly find that Newt has had one foot on the side of every fence and a hand in everybody’s pocket.

Please, due your due diligence before you make your choice, because the upcoming election is the most important election since Reagan defeated Carter.

    The problem with cutting
government care is that you can’t trust people to help their fellow man.
Yes, it does cut the excuse “Well, the government is taking care of
them, so why should I?” BUT I don’t see it working until we can
actually say that the majority of the people WILL indeed take care of
their fellow man. How many people holding up signs do we pass by? The
government doesn’t take care of putting gas in their cars. The
government doesn’t give a house to the homeless. (You also can’t get a
job without an address) We don’t take care of them. Why does she think
we would give food to the hungry?  Or pay their medical bills when we can’t afford our own!

Did they make the law because 150 years ago nobody in the military was mounting their horse improperly. There was a time when this policy did not exist, so when we repeal it are we legalizing it or simply going back to a time before the policy was enacted? Maybe they just believe there is no need for it now seeing as there are no cavalry.

I’m really surprised that there is NO STORY on this today…

On this day, the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, I pause to give thanks and deepest gratitude to all the men and women who have, are, and will fight for this great nation. Pearl Harbor was a moment in time that forced Americans to choose either courage in the face of evil or to allow evil to prevail. On that day, Americans chose courage, hardship, lose, and death to maintain freedom. My strongest hope is that we will choose the same course in the coming fight for the hearts and minds of this country!

Bachmann is a joke.  She can’t win.  Her idea on illegal immigration is that we’re going to send police around to 11 million homes and round up illegals to deport them.  That looks a little too much like Nazi Germany to me.  You often speak of morals.  Does that sound like the society you want to live in?  Will people start hiding good, honest illegals in thier basements to keep them from being deported?  Bachmann talks tough, but it’s not realistic.
At least Newt is honest about the problem.  We are NEVER going to deport all 11 million illegals.  We have to have a reasonable approach, which Newt is proposing.  Secure the border, deport recent entrants, have a guest worker program, and have local panels decide if immigrants of 20+ years should be allowed to stay.

    • Mary Smith

We may never deport all 11 million illegals; but we don’t have to SUPPORT them, either.  There should be no benefit to persons who enter our country illegally.

      • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

At least Michelle is willing to try. By the way, they would self deport if we started rounding them up and confiscated anything related to any business that employed them.

        • Anonymous

Exactly! She’s willing to try, while Obama just talks, and talks, and talks… and lies, and lies, and lies…

Bachmann is a joke? Yet, Obama is a nightmare, and he still became the US President!

Bachmann is unrealistic? Like Obama has anything to do with “reality”…

Bachmann has no chance to win? Then how could Obama, a former drunkard, drug addict, gang-banger, a half-breed Muslim, became a US president? If he could get elected, than anybody has a chance to become the president. Then nothing is impossible. It is up to the people and not to the press.

It doesn’t make sense why USA wouldn’t be ready to elect a female president, yet it is o.k. to place Obama, the former drunkard, drug addict, gang-banger, Islamic- and Communist-regime-pleaser  in the office.

Why is a woman worst candidate than all of the above what Obama represent? Something must be terribly wrong with the American mentality….

It is time to change before it’s too late.

    • Anonymous

      “like Nazi Germany”

As far as I know, the American borders are open in front of legal immigration. Anyone who wants to enter the USA, can do so legally.

It is way too far fetched to compare the American government (or Bachmann) to Nazi Germany just because 11 million illegals would face deportation. There is no such thing as “honest illegals”. People from all over the world (including Mexicans) has a chance to legally apply for entry to the USA. They can apply for entry visa and request landed status, or they can apply for refugee status (political, economic, domestic, etc).

To allow illegals to stay in the country and support them with welfare and with all kind of funds means to abuse the immigration polity, and to deny the entry opportunity from those people who submitted their request for entry visa legally, and are on waiting lists (some for years), waiting to get their chance.

Because only a certain amount of immigrants can be accepted each year, those who chose the legal way, get locked out by the illegals, who take away their chance and their place. That’s not right.

And it is not right that while American citizens are unemployed, or have to declare bankruptcy having no chance to get government help, some go homeless, illegals are kept in the country and collecting all kind of government support, support that an American citizen is denied.

Canada has no problem with deporting illegals, neither has Norway, Austria, Germany, or Hungary, just to mention a few.

Why should USA be a social welfare state for illegals on the expense of its own citizens? Is that something you could call justice with a clear conscience?

If anything is Nazi like, perhaps the act of abusing a country’s immigration policy.

If the Tea Party supports Newt then they will be going against everything they represent. Perry needs to get his stuff together and get a staff that can do a better job keeping him on the ball and not fishing for BS answers to questions. If he can do that I think that he may start to come up in the polls and make a credible showing for himself. Despite his critics he has done a respectable job in Texas and I believe the Republican Party would support him.

How is Newt against everything the Tea Party represents?  Newt is the only candidate that has ever balanced the federal budget.  You must not understand what the Tea party represents.  Less spending, lower taxes, balanced budget.  Newt, Newt, Newt!

I like Perry, but Obama will mop the floor with him in the debates.  Newt is the only guy that can stand toe to toe with Obama in the debates.  We need someone who is electable.  Everybody thinks Perry is dumb, like Bush, just because he’s not well spoken – it matters.  Bachmann just doesn’t have the popular support – independents hate her.  While the media loves Mitt and gives him a pass, normal people don’t like his smug demeanor.

How About a Look at President Paul

If Republicans, Tea Partiers, and self-avowed conservatives are truly serious about wanting a presidential candidate who is thoroughly committed to restoring and preserving liberty, then Ron Paul is their candidate—their only candidate.

          OK, and what
          has the blathering grandpa done?
I’m fine with most of the above given it’s mostly taken out of context.

someone who has held public office for over 20 years will have a lot of votes
on a lot of issues and some things that were popular with conservatives 20 or
30 years ago won’t be anymore. Like the individual mandate or severe punishment for drug smugglers. Those were conservative norms back in the 80’s and early 90’s. Times change, so does the electorate.
Many of his remarks from recent years are as a news commentator, often
          referring to hypothetical questions.

          I think it’s
great that Newt has such a diverse record. If you ask Newt why he supported each of the above, he’ll calmly and intelligently explain the reasons why and show that often the alternatives are far far worse, and they are.

The last thing we want is another ideolog
that will divide the country like Obama has done.  Ron Paul is a joke.  He has a few good radical ideas, but he’s not a leader.

          We have
serious problems in our country and we need serious leaders like Newt. Not some senile old man that rants about the Fed and promotes total disarmament
          of our military.

Ron Paul is a losing horse, get over it.

          • fred longe

Ron Paul Doesn’t want to disarm the military. He wants to end the militarism there is a huge difference.

He wants the military here where it belongs to guard the homeland.

Stop listening to the MSM and do some research

Wait till Iowa. If Ron Paul Looses, then America dies.
you won’t have the right to say that anymore so you better start looking into what he really stands for.

Newt is a bigger NWO guy than Perry and no one has an economic plan that can pull us out of the mess we are in except Ron Paul

          Nice list

        • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

Got a list like that on Romney?

          • fred longe

we are working on it. Have to make sure it is 100% correct first. It is probably just as bad. He wants your guns to begin with

    • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

I don’t think the electorate can stand another bumbling Texan to remind them of the bumbling, progressive, RINO Texan from 2000.

    Gardasil is dangerous!The
following is from a report on Dr. Mercola’s web sight of 2010.
These figures are growing all the time but we get nothing from our
    main stream media.  Why not?

“The Lethal Medical Failure That’s Still
    Recommended by Your Doctor

    Posted By Dr.
    Mercola | December 29 2010

Millions of women in the U.S. were scared by Merck’s
powerful ad campaign into becoming “one less” victim to
cervical cancer by getting vaccinated with Gardasil.  But
instead of saving women from cancer, the vaccine has turned an
increasing number of formerly healthy girls into “one more”
    victim of vaccine abuse.

The reported death toll for the HPV vaccine now stands at 89, and
the first male death has also been reported. A young
boy died just eight days after being vaccinated with Gardasil.

of November 3, 2010, there were also 20,575 adverse reactions,
the Age of Autism reports, and 352 reports of abnormal pap smears
post vaccination.  Keep in mind however, that it has been
estimated that only 1 to 10 percent of all vaccine adverse events are
ever reported, which means there could actually be millions of
vaccine injuries related to Gardasil, and perhaps thousands of

Shockingly, the vaccine is now also related to infant

Michele Backmann did not know how right she was, or she did not
want to derail her campaign over this issue as going up against the
big Pharmaceuticals might not be wise at this time.  Also she
might not have had all her facts at her disposal at that time, but it
is still true, HPV vaccines are dangerous! .

If you care at all it is easy to look up these and many other
articles that are being put on their web sights by medical doctors
who are trying to warn the US public about what is going on.

As much as RP scares people with his belief in the need to pull back all forces world wide he (and I) converted about 18 votes over Thanksgiving dinner held in my home. Since Viet Nam, I have been a staunch believer in if you commit troops, you do it to win and then reap the spoils. If you’re not willing to do that then don’t waste one life on world social engineering. I believe in total, vicious, dirty, horrible war. Service members are dying as this is written and for what? We’re going to walk away in the near future and have gained WHAT? Newt is a part of that crowd. Newt says what shallow people want to hear.

As usual every one is focusing on all the driblets if negative crap that has been rehashed, and in some cases, miss interpreted over and over again. We all know about it. How about the good, the real legislation (you know, the stuff that actually made a real difference). Not to mention the views that have changed because of life experience. A thinker always evolves. Newt Gingrich has a history of cutting taxes and regulation. Give me one candidate that can say this. They talk about it but did they actually do it? My source is through clubforgrowth.org and all their sources are also listed. His unpopular legislation is also listed, but at least it is accurate in comparison to what is thrown out by others on this site.

Voted YES on the Reagan tax cut of 1981

Voted YES on the Reagan tax reform bill of 1986

Voted NO on the George H.W. Bush “Read My Lips” tax hike in 1990.

Voted NO on the Clinton tax hike in 1993.

Voted YES on the capital gains tax cut in 1997

    an immediate and permanent repeal of the Death Tax;

    elimination of all capital gains taxes;

    reduction of the corporate tax rate to 12.5 percent;

    a 50 percent payroll tax cut for both employers and employees;

a 100 percent tax write off for businesses’ equipment purchases.

Voted NO on the Chrysler bailout in 1979 Voted YES on the Gramm-Rudman balanced budget bill in 1985

Voted YES on a balanced budget amendment (as part of the “Contract for America” effort that he led) in 1995

Led the effort and voted YES to cut $16.4 billion from the budget in 1995.

Voted YES on welfare reform in 1996.

Don’t have time for every thing, but don’t forget that balanced budget!
Visit his website for details on his current ideas, he has made alterations as to what he believes, as we all do. He has a track record of cutting taxes and reducing regulation, little pet projects mean nothing to me in comparison to a balanced budget. How can this be swept under the table so easily. There is still going to be a congress and senate to deal with after this election. Creepy Harry Reid and do nothing Beohner are still there. Do you really think Ron Paul or Bachman’s idealistic solutions are going to fly? Santorum for V.P.

    • fred longe

YUP Ron Paul’s solutions will fly because the congress will have to side with him or the recall elections will start

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_U2JSTOJ4ZTRXLC45E5YXPBGCIU Sonbeams

If he is “evolving” what assurance do we have that he will not keep on “evolving” right into the opposite of what you think he is today?

You can rationalise everything but LOOK at the man’s character based upon his real life actions. All you have proved is that he is on every side of every issue all the time.

He is slippery and unstable as water. Of course this may be what you like about him so go ahead and vote for him but do not say you didn’t know.

      • fred longe

Exactly they all have done something good but I want to know how they have screwed us. Screw me once, shame on my, screw me twice, shame on you.

We have ONE Chance to get this mess straightened out. Anyone who has made deals to screw the american people are sell outs. I could care less who can debate better.

I want to know who has the balls to take on the establishment.

Ron Paul has more balls than all of us put together. He has been fighting the establishment for 30 years without screwing the American people.

Newt and every other candidate besides Ron Paul have screwed the american people.

Michelle Bachmann is the George Washington we’re looking for.. therefore.. the power grabbers are afraid of her…Sorry but the truth hurts

  • Anonymous

Never in my life would I vote for Newt Gingrich.  But sadly, I do not believe that Michelle Bachmann has a chance at winning the nomination.  Therefore I will be voting for some else.

Vote Ron Paul or Gary Johnson for President 2012.

This is just my personal opinion…
