Indefinite Detention for Americans…in America?

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

Glenn talks about what he referred to as possibly the ‘worst’ bill America has ever considered, which passed the Senate last night by a vote of 93-7. It’s written vaguely enough that it could mean Americans could be held indefinitely for ‘suspected’ terrorism… Glenn reacts to the National Authorization Act on radio today. Watch in the clip above.

Why not! Its what King George did here over 235 yrs ago.
Look how well it worked out for him.

They even had an amendment to try and take that part of the bill out and the amendment failed with 60 votes cast against the removal of it. With 43 republicans and 16 democrats among the 60 (lieberman the other), go figure that this is the one thing they can be bipartisan about.

  • Beth Whitaker

Glenn, My senator voted yea on this bill.  I have contacted my congressman but his office didn’t know anything about it.  It would be helpful if we could get the language that is of concern and forward it to our congressmen and women for review and consideration.  Do you have someone would could extract that and post it for us?  I looked at the bill and it is confusing at best. Trying to do my part.

I wonder why Glenn didn’t question Bachman about her vote on this?

It’s what Ron Paul and many other libertarians have been warning about for years; Namely, a police state is being constructed that will be turned on Americans in an ironic twist of fate for all those who trade the liberties found in the Bill of Right for the protection offered by security-mad-control freaks.

Ronald Reagan, said that “the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.”

I think if that was true, then somewhere along the way you Conservative lost your heart, soul and, frankly, your nerve. The world has always been a dangerous place, and the greater danger throughout history comes from giving too much power to big government; which is what is currently happening.

The people whom many of you “Conservatives” (read: you sheeple) trust are nothing more than wolves in sheep-dogs clothing. In the end, cowards pay dearly for letting government become their big-brother demigod.

Yes, why don’t you cowards kneel down and pray to your demigods in Congress along with the Demigod-in-Chief, kneel, pray and offer the Bill of Rights as a sacrifice.

Look for how long this has been coming, after Napoletano started refering to ex-soldiers, the Tea Party, Christians, Conservatives and basically anyone who stands for limited government, opposes Obama and the progressive and their insane agendas as “potential domestic terrorists” here at the states.

If this passes the House, and Obama does not veto it; then it will sound the end game for the nation as a free government. We will have fallen into the first nightmares of a new Socialist-Communist dictatorship in which if you dare say anything you disappear.

History is once again repeating itself and too many do not care.

Like we didn’t see this coming;   Glenn has been warning us about this very thing!   They can try, they are close, but we ain’t going down smiling!

Well at least we still have one freedom left, that being the freedom to agree!  I suspect that first they, our esteemed government officials will come first for the radio talk show hosts because they are exposing their plans and nefarious doings to the  light of truth which has not been obfuscated by the media and entertainment  moguls.  And then the rest of us that love freedom and all the liberties that our once great nation was founded upon will be marked and called out as “enemies of the state” because the majority of “americans” will just be mind numbed robots and tell us that there must be sonething wrong with us for not accepting to agree and just go along with what they believe to be harmless new methods of governing “for the collective of society”.   Individual rights will be the cause of what was wrong with America of the past.
And if we do not renounce our love for the America and Constitution of the past, we will be conveniently sent away to the re-eduaction centers.  there for those that fail the “program” we will receive one last freedom, that perhaps being the choice of manner in which we are erased from this life.  And then all the remaining useful collective citizens will run to and fro in their Matrix wondering why anyone would ever speak out against the system of governing they cannot see has made them a prisoner in a cell with the bars hidden from view by everyone’s Acceptance of this as the proper way it should be.
Please america, turn off the regular TV programming and stop it with the entertainment media.  You have a treasure slipping away like sand through an hour glass and once gone, the glass will not be easily or quickly flipped over.  Many men and women have been erased throughout history because of their ideal of not wanting to live in an unfree tyrannical country.  This is wat the moniker “enemy of the state, suspected terrorist activity” is all about.
Meanwhile I will be getting passport and once secured be ready to travel.  The work of upholding the tree of liberty is much too heavy for one set of hands and one back.  All hands are needed on deck.

Did Bachmann vote on a senate bill?   I believe she is in the House and does not vote in the senate.  Was this bill passed in the House?  If it was then the game is over because BO would love to sign such legislation and then he will show us the real meaning of ‘reparation”.

I don’t care what they pass. I’ve still got rights, and no one’s going to take them from me. If they try, they’ll just have to answer to God and my gun for it.

True about Ron Paul.  However, none of his campaign ads or campaign tactics market him.  So if you can’t get the word out about yourself in any persuasive way, then you will lose.  If you want to play the game to win, then he would take credit and explain himself.  Until his campaign does that, he doesn’t have much of a chance.  He appears quite focused on Newt and Trump entirely to remind us of his predictions.

The “word” about RP started to get out during the last Presidential election.

RP is doing much better this time around; however, I do partly agree with your criticism that RP’s campaign isn’t perfect. In my opinion, RP needs to make bold, unorthodox moves. For example, I’ve suggested that he meet with Gov. Gary Johnson and offer him the VP spot. I think the two of them should announce a partnership early and cause an uproar. Call it an Iowa surprise (not go so far as openly state that GJ would be VP, however)

I’ve known Johnson for almost 20yrs, and he’s a good man who would supercharge Paul’s campaign.

  • jen

Do you speak to Paul or to his campaign people directly?

I think he needs marketing and strategy people as well as libertarian advisors.  He really shouldn’t be asked to do everything on his own.  His debates and ads don’t portray his strengths and contributions well.  Truth is I think most people don’t really know what he stands for or what he has done as he appears too humble to talk about himself as much.  Speech writers would help in getting his message and him out better.

I applaud your enthusiastic spirit and patriotism, but remember, not all “americans” agree with me, especially those currently in power.  Just remember Ruby Ridge  and Waco.  The second amendment, much like the first amendment is squarely in the cross-hairs because they impose limitations on governmental power.

  • Anonymous

Look, it pains me to say this, but RP is not a strategist nor is he a closer— he is a damn fine man who is a Constitutional expert and he understands Austrian economics well.

If RP was a closer, he would have already had a secrete meeting with Gov. Johnson and closed a deal that would change history. That’s all I have to say on that subject.

I’m trying to stay positive and side with those who want to defeat Obama, including Glenn Beck. I think Glenn Beck’s message is improving so much so that I want to stay positive regarding him as well. In the recent past, I’ve had some very harsh words for Mr. Beck; however, my new motto is that we can all fight each other later; right now, we have a greater enemy to deal with— Obama.

    Goodnight.

Fear the government that fears your guns.

This administration is desperately seeking a Reichstag Fire to accumulate more power.  Perhaps to even proclaim martial law to protect the good citizens.

We are watching a coup of the US government.  I trust you are all writing your Representatives to stop this AND making note of every Senator who voted for it.  They need to be unseated in the next election having demonstrated they do not respect the Constitution they swore to protect.

When fighting out of control Government, there is one tactic which “IT” fears.  Atack “ITS” budget.   This is what government does to citizens and what law suits do to plaintifs.

Budget Attack Government Services. (B.A.G.S.).  As “it spends , spends , spends so sinks the ship of city government.  The “Horsemen”  of authority will grow week, from lack of funds.  Some will pray for funds, as “IT” begins to lose its Power…

Alright folks, this kind of thing just may spark another civil war for us.That right number two for us here in America. In a lot of ways this act is not all that disimler to what was going on when we were ending slavery. The southern slave states didn’t like what the federal government was trying to do.This is what sparked the civil war.Another thing about this kind of action from our government is that once one is detained they lose all rights thereby getting guns out of the peoples hands to the point we become an unarmed society. We would become vunerable to what whim comes down from government then.

You are assuming of course that it is impossible for somebody to be “verbalizing” as the only means of “doing something.”

In my view, “doing something” means reading (educating yourself), attending lectures and rallies, writing, protesting, being a citizen activist, debating people face to face, owning a bullhorn and using it and above all, putting your money where your mouth is.

I do all of the above. My favorite activity happens to be verbalizing with my autographed bullhorn.

I quit the Tea Party after it was co-opted by the Neocons. The original Tea Party was formed in support of Ron Paul, remember?

As an aside: 2012 is going to be a very special year. Obama is very likely to overtly attack Iran after he provokes them into making the first move and openly attacking the West. The U.S. covert attacks have greatly intensified against both Iran and Syria ever since Gaddafi’s death, and I expect open warfare sometime after June but before next October so that Obama can unite the ignorant masses behind his reelection campaign and distract and refocus them off of the worsening domestic economy. The new anti-terror laws will be employed to bring in the military so they can quell dissent and protesting of war, welfare, bank bailouts, political corruption, a collapsing dollar, unfair trade and the lack of good paying jobs.

It’s the beginning of the end, folks.   We are becoming Venezuela!    This is how it’s done.   In the making for decades, but I really do see hope in the horizon, but it does take faith.  America was born and rooted in faith.  How did our small nation at that time win over the greatest army in the world?

Governments, like clocks, go from the motion men give them..Wherefore governments rather depend upon men, than men upon governments.  Let men be good and the government cannot be bad….But if men be bad, the government [will] never [be] good…I know some say, “Let us have good laws, and no matter for the men that execute them.”  But let them consider that though good laws do well, good men do better;  for good laws may [lack] good men..but good men will never [lack] good laws, nor [allow bad] ones.  William Penn  1669

So anyone who owns or carries a gun that is excesive for hunting could be considered a terrorist unless they give up their gun, correct? I was just asking my dad a week or so ago when another attack on americans right to bare arms would be put on trial again. If this bill passes we will no longer have any rights as american citzens. When will people understand that what is being done is planned.  What part of control and power don’t the American people understand?  The people pushing this, at the top, are the people who will have the power and control and that is their plan.  Obama is the best at this because he was raised to believe these things.  This is Obama and his minions core.  You could no more be parted from your core beliefs than Obama can.  As Reagan said “government is not the answer to our problems, government is the problem,” and at this point Obama is the government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets
proclaimed, saying: Thus saith HaShem of hosts: Return ye now from your evil
ways, and from your evil doings; but they did not hear, nor attend unto Me,
    saith HaShem.

5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live
    for ever?
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live
    for ever?

6 But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants
the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? so that they turned and said:
Like as HaShem of hosts purposed to do unto us, according to our ways, and
according to our doings, so hath He dealt with us.’

The Tea party was not “started” to support Ron Paul.  It was started in response to gigantic expenditures of TARP and the “Bail Out”.  Ron Paul’s supporters joined very quickly because Dr. Paul is a staunch advocate of Constitutional restoration and these expenditures were completely unconstitutional.  The Tea Party supports principles, not people.

  • Anonymous

Wrong: It was started as a money bomb in support of Ron Paul on December 16, 2007. The roots of the neo-Tea Party are from Ron Paul supporters, most of whom left the movement after it was co-opted. Of course many tax revolters in the 90′s also employed the term.

Look at how the goal has been on the field by itself. Consider this. Was it asking for tea? Was it asking for indom? Or..was it asking for agenda? Potentially, if all three coincide that’s the end of the game. If not check for the history repeating itself.

Hey Glenn what do you want to say about fema camps now? Go ahead and discredit Alex Jones all you want but its ok. I feel that you might be finally catching on to what Alex Jones has talked about over 10 years but your a little late. Maybe one day you will stop making fun of real patriots like Jesse ventura, Alex Jones, and Ron Paul. Glenn you have become part of the 2 party dictatorship by falling for the lie that we need to have troops all over the world. I hope you like the new world order when its here. To bad real patriots have been screaming and pointing their finger at the trigger men voting for Ron Paul while you have been giving credit to NWO puppets.

Waste of time. Why you ask? Well to answer that you have to get the House and Senate too agree on impeachment. DOA. You have to prove “high crimes and misdemeanors” and you see how that played out with Billy boy. You have the corrupt impeaching the corrupt. Oh yeas, it would work if you had men of honor, wich we have way too few of nowadays.

It is bill   S 1867, was put together behind closed doors by Sen John McCain and one other democrat Senator. Yes John McCain sold the American people out!!

  • http://tayloralexander.org tayloralexander

GLENN…. SETTLE DOWN. Me thinks you based this segment on what an eye doctor who needs to read the bill, or get new glasses, said in a speech… I’ve read it, I’ve reread it, I disected it and how you can go off half-cocked with this histrionic behavior is beyond me.
This one part has no qualifers to diminish its impact:UNITED STATES CITIZENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.Frickin relax. sheech get a grip. The first parts A and B of Section 1032 are specific as to whom is affected, and that ain’t citizens of the US or resident aliens. MY GOD, DO SOME RESEARCH and learn how to read law.

    Lois
Pyles The constitution states that to be President, both of your
parents need to be naturalized citizens of the United States of America.
Obama’s father was born in Kenya and was never a naturalized USA
citizen. Therefore he is ineligible to be president. Why does no one in
the News Media not say this? Why are there no impeachment proceedings
going on right now? Is everyone afraid of Obama and his good friend
George Soros? Just because Obama’s friends are rich is no reason to let
him be in the role he is ineligible to occupy!!! Get him out of office!
This is a huge gap in our system of government! Doesn’t anyone know
    their US history anymore?

At the very least, he should Not be allowed another Run…and, It would be high time he got off the campaign trail and did some work…like balance the budget.

Last night on 60 minutes with Steve Croft interview with Obama-
    role the tape:
“I am willing to work with both parties.”   Shouldn’t he have said, I am willing to work with the Republicans, instead?

Anyone catch that?    What party does he belong to?  Could it be he represents, let’s just say. The Communist Party perhaps?

This is another bill, just like the Patriot Act, that completely goes against our Constitution, Bill of Rights and laws. One can argue that this does not allow the government to detain American citizens, but I just did some research on the net, the part about not detaining American Citizens was voted down. One can only surmise that this bill would allow that to happen, since the specific amendment was shot down. This is a very slippery slope we are on.

The reason is pretty obvious…..because there is more to it than what you have stated. If it were that simple, the media and government officials WOULD be saying something.  Why don’t you research it on some objective, fact-based, websites.  It’s not that tough.  If you just listen to this idiot GB and Fox propaganda, lies, and distortions you will continue to confused and misled.

You are an idiot.  Plain and simple.  There isn’t one scintilla of evidence for your absurd and paranoid thought.

One problem:  Most every hate group this country (militias, anti-abortion assassins, etc.) is made of of some combination of “ex-soldiers, the Tea Party, Christians, Conservatives”, so why shouldn’t she say that she is concerned?

shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person
be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of

And why was it like pulling teeth to get him to show the people his birth cert?!! If there is nothing to hide why did he make such a big deal about it? Nothing came out about it until after he had time to get a fake one printed up,, Get him out of that office we won’t have an America if he is able to stay in another term,, he is selling us out ,, giving all our money away,, all the promises he made he hasn’t done nothing but spend more of OUR money, run off on vacations-his wife and kids using OUR money to go on more vacations– should be new rules that the first lady don’t get the privelges that the president gets– she should not get to run off using tax payer dollars– that means if she wants to go on vacation then it comes out of her pocket, all the travel all the security, all the attentends all the hotels, ect… tax payers should not be forking the bill because they want to go on vacation when most Americans haven’t been able to have a vacation in years !!!  Why does the government do what ever they want to do- they are supposed to be listening to the people but the cold careless about what the people want they only do what will fill their own pockets up,, fire them all !!!

Media is bought and paid for, , if Media was as good as it used to be there would of never been a questions about his birth cert it would of been turned up,, media just ignored it and all the other questions people were asking,, bought and paid for

Our rights have been suspended thanks to these people that don’t believe in the constitution. Why did we fall asleep on this one? I served my country for 20yrs for this. Boy being away from home for so long wasn’t able to see what was going on at home. Bad enough to see our streets more dangerous than overseas in many places. More crime here than anywhere next to mexico. And with corrupt government officials in power making laws that take our rights away and give more to the criminals.

I hate agreeing with Beck on anything, but this piece of legislative crap passed 93-7 and now they want Obama to ‘okay’ congress’ request to wipe their ass with the 6th Amendment? I don’t think so.Thank God Obama vetoed this. I know 93 senators who need to be slapped in the mouth.

  • http://www.facebook.com/earl.decker.94 Earl Decker

You sure have changed, Mr Beck.

4 years ago you were saying that the army might have to be used against Ron Paul supporters.

For unjustified reasons you attack Alex Jones, even though, now, you’re preaching much of what he has for years.

What are you, precisely, Mr Beck? A sober alcoholic? So am I. Do you know how important honesty is to your sobriety?

    Do you?
