Glenn non-sarcastically bids NYC adieu

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

Today is the last day for Glenn broadcasting full time in NYC. It’s a mix of emotions, ranging from excitement to really excited to really really excited to really, really REALLY excited to get outta dodge. Not to say New York isn’t an amazing city – for example, it managed to save a suicidal man who jumped out a 9 story window by leaving a massive pile of garbage bags lying around. Get it all in the clip above

Good luck in Texas Glenn, hope the rats in NYC stay behind and all the same people flee while there is still time left.

Glenn, on one had, I’m happy you’re able to shake the far-Left dust of NYC off your clothes and head-out West, a place/region where you aren’t always having to fend-off a bunch of hardcore Lefties who hurl insults at you, calling it “dialogue”.

On the other hand, I sigh a sigh of frustration, for though  NYC has always been a haven of liberal ideology, there was once room in that big town for honest dialogue and all opinions (social and/or political).  Now, it has devolved into a big town where you have the right to freedom of speech as long as you agree with the crazy Lefties.  If you don’t, the crazy Lefties reserve the right to brand you as facist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, etc.

Please do not misunderstand me: I have friends who are left-of-center, or liberal, but have a good head on their shoulders and love America and KNOW the difference between having a safety-net for the disenfranchized and a full-on socialist country.  But it’s the hardcore Leftists who have taken control of the political discourse, making it really hard for the actual Democrats (not socialists who have hijacked the Democratic Party, but real Democrats) to have a voice.

Good luck in Texas, Glenn, but – if you read this – please say a prayer for those stuck in NYC.

    Happy trails, brother.

I guess you finally got someone to give you 850 for your house, that is what you told us in Wilmington.  I was never sure if you were being realistic and actually meant 850 thousand or you were is such a hurry to leave you meant $850.00.

Lets look at where you are going.  Summers, the humidity is as high as the temp.  Winters, freeze your butt to the ground in many feet of snow.  Spring, If the tornadoes don’t get you wait till Summer and the hurricanes will blow you away.  Sounds lovely, oh did I forget spiders the size of small bird and snakes that can kill or make you wish you were dead.  Then there are the killer bees and mosquitoes that can carry you away and the fire ants can’t forget them.  No wonder everyone carries a gun, it’s to kill the critters not people.  Then there is the occasional drought followed by wildfires.

All kidding aside I wish you the best and hopefully I will see you in July.  Speaking of July, did you think about this.   You went to Wilmington in the dead of winter, you don’t usually go north in the winter.  Now you go south in the middle of summer, something else not usually done.  You need a new travel agent.  If your using Orbits it ain’t working.

I have looked and can’t find the address for your new office in Dallas.  I want to send you a check for tickets, I don’t trust putting my credit card number on this thing.  Please post it soon, I want to get my order in before you fill the Astro Dome, I guess that’s where it will be?

N.Y.C. sounds like a dump.  Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Best of luck in Texas, Glenn and family and staff.  Lots of Love.

The real question I asked myself after hearing the story of the guy saved by the garbage was how many rats were killed when he hit the garbage bags.

I spent a week in NYC one day a long time ago. Leaving NYC is a sane action, one that should be undertaken by every business currently in NYC. Leave it to the rats and other liberals.

    Tales of Manhattan

    Jack Kemp

I got an insight into the elitist mind a few days ago while riding the New York subway.

I was riding the “F” train through Manhattan, a train that has been rerouted through a different tunnel (and stations) on the eastern part of midtown. A typical New Yorker woman sat down next to me as her two small boys sat on the bench opposite us. Speaking out loud, she mentioned that to her sons that they would be getting off at a stop this train no longer made, Fifth Ave. and 53rd Street. I volunteered to tell her about the changes and that she would have to go either one stop south of that location or to a new (to her) one stop north.

“Where do you want to go?”

    “MoMa,” she replied.

This phrase didn’t register in my mind right away, so she repeated it as if everyone who was anyone should know it.

“What is the cross street?,” I asked. She replied, “MoMa,” holding her ground.

About a minute into this confusion, I recalled what “MoMa” meant. It was a phrase I had only read in magazines and had never personally used in a conversation. And she could have told me the cross street, Fifth Avenue, when I asked her.

“Oh, the Museum of Modern Art,” I said (It is located within 60 yards of Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street).

We talked some more and I got off the train before she did. I did not have to ask myself why she spoke in pretentious jargon instead of English and refused to identify the cross street to 53rd for where she wanted to go when I asked her that question . And it would be a safe bet that she voted for the trendy Barack Obama in 2008.

In the future, I’ll limit my subway conversations to the truly lost and confused locals who don’t look like they are trendy enough to know what “MoMa” is – and to out of town tourists who need directions.

As a general rule, New Yorkers are nicer to out-of-towners because they see them as friendlier and kinder than their fellow City residents. This true story is an example of why that is so.

New York City; a nice place to visit (on a tour bus with bullet proof glass) but I sure do not want to live there, EVER.

I want no part of living in a city that has spent the last ten years since 911 “strong arming” the parishners of the Saint Nicholas Church out of their property at 155 Cedar Street.  NYC lost an honest to GOD, TRUE multi-culteral center that was enjoyed by ALL persons.  No focus or news reels were broadcasted about St Nicholas, nope, we were instead innudated with the supposed indifferent predjudice against Muslims that were facing backlash with building a Mosque (with finance trails leading to terrorists) at ground zero.

    NYC, that is despicable.

Glenn, enjoy Texas.  They are GOD fearing people, and TRUE Americans!

i use to do the fashion shows in bryant park,  i was talking to a police officer remarking about a couple of dogs that were running along the buildings and he said they wasn’t dogs they were rats, and i said are you serious, these things were huge sure enough though they were rats, still to this day couldnt believe the size of them.

I’ve lived in NYC. I stayed long enough to realize my brain was becoming totally numb and I was becoming an indifferent person, also started to develop a negative attitude. Then I realized it was time to get the heck out. I am so happy I did. I am a much nicer person. I am extremely happy living in a spacious friendly supportive neighborhood.  NYC is truly a cesspool.

Me and mine moved off the left coast shortly after the LA Riots of 93 and moved to the heart land, Missouri.  Trick is not to bring your baggage, as many have.  Many a day I wake up longing for a walk on the beach, fresh seafood and then I take a shower.  Lunatics in charge of the asylums that are both coast reminds me to just eat frozen seafood and put a little sand in my boot.

What is with ya’ll rubbishing NYC – tour buses with bullet proof glass, yada, yada?  Sounds to me, like many of you haven’t been there since Guiliani cleaned it up. I walk around there, by myself & catch the Subway & LIRR, home to LI, at night & I feel very safe. Not only that, but a couple of years ago the Readers Digest conducted a worldwide survey of the larger cities in the world, regarding manners & NYC came out on top. Google it – if you won’t take my word for that.
My visitors from Australia always comment on how helpful NYC folk are too.

Texas might be great – but ya’ll don’t have to denigrate another city & people to prove it, it’s not a competition is it?

I’m huge fan of yours, Glenn.  I miss the 5:00 TV show.  I don’t like that fact it always seems like you are selling a new book, GBTV – you are selling yourself out of the so-called ‘middle class’  I cannot afford the books nor can I afford GBTV.  Bothers me.  And I know, for a fact, that your house in CT did not sell for $850K – it was miliions -  I don’t know what your apt in NY sold for.  It’s okay to make money and buy big houses….as a real estate appraiser, I have seen the best of the best in my city.  Nice houses are my ‘thing.’  However, please be honest.. you say you are honest, and I really want to believe your integrity is intact.  However, when you tell us to pare down…I wonder if you are really paring down?  You, your beautiful wife, and a couple of kids – don’t need a big house for that amount of people.  I guess I’m getting a ‘funny feeling’ from you lately, and, honestly, I do not like that!!!

You came here to New York to make your fortune … and you did make a fortune.

THIS IS MY HOME TOWN you are insulting.

I know lots of people who acted just like you are, and left (after they made their fortunes and careers) and then bemoaned the fact that THEY ARE BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS and quietly came back.

This is a City that took a horrific hit on Sept 11th, and came back with spirit, style, compassion and yes, guts.  And watched as millions of more people moved here and millions of tourists (the largest ever this year) wanted to feel the New York spirit.

But, you’re leaving because, oh goodness, could be, because you want to save  part the fortune you made here (which I am more and more unhappily contributing to).  You, Rush, and others all going to tax-free states.  THAT’S THE REASON.  Admit it!

You comment that some people don’t like you and why? because YOU are in their faces.  You tick them off … that’s your style.  And when New Yorkers get ticked off they tick back.

Leave Glenn, but it is disingenuous and downright rude of you to insult my City after you and your staff, have taken what this city has to offer.  You made your name here, the least you can do is admit it … and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

I am from Oregon originally, tried going back after twenty five years away, was appalled at the high taxes and the liberalism.  Stayed for six months.  With the direction the USA is going, freedom and liberty are past tense, so sad, so sad and heartbreaking for the greatest country on earth!  I could not stand watching the country I so love lose so much – I have more freedom in the country I now live in than I had in my own country.

I will always be an American, I pray that Americans wake up and come back to the constitution as the blueprint for who we really are.

Merry Christmas Glenn Beck and family, Texas is a great state.

As a fellow Texan, I can say that I too had to adjust my mindset when I moved from up north to here. This first day, strange people were saying hello to us and asking us how we are. My husband and I just looked at each other, having not said a word to the stranger, and said “Is she talking to us?”.

Sad that your mentality gets that way, but after you acclimate to friendly and considerate people, it is difficult to go to other places because now I get shocked by how rude others are.  Very different!!

Dear Glenn, a couple of years ago – and long before you ever made the announcement – I told my family (and to mark my words) that you were going to move to Texas. Where that came from, I haven’t a clue, altho’ I’ve had many premonitions throughout life that came true. Being a native Houstonian and a huge fan/follower of yours for 7 years, I am SO VERY HAPPY & PROUD to have you as a fellow Texan. A big welcome to your entire family! And please don’t worry about leaving your furry friends. We have rats, too, but no “Caution: Rat Poison” signs like I’ve seen in Central Park. Is O’Reilly pissed at you for leaving FOX and NYC?

  • Robert Starkand

I love New York.  If you think New York is bad now, you should have seen it in the 1970′s before the renaissance that began in 1977 with the election of Ed Koch as mayor.  With Hugh Carey as governor and Felix Rohytan as head of the financial board created to save New York from bankruptcy (MAC), these three very different men, all home-grown New Yorkers, brought the city back from insolvency to prosperity.  New York goes through cycles of prosperity and decline.  We’re in decline now because of the feckless leadership we’ve had for the last decade, by a mayor who is a self-centered, self-aggrandizing billionaire, who made his fortune here and thinks he did it all by himself; and governors who took us broke.(Pataki, Spitzer, Patterson and after the cave-in by Cuomo on the tax hike for millionaires, I am not hopeful about him.)  We’ll survive this, and revive this city again, because we love it.  If you love something, you don’t leave, you fix it.

Glenn, you did well in New York.  Maybe somewhere else you would have been successful as a local hero, but you never would have reached the status of an international phenom without New York and the New Yorkers who helped you.  You are the microphone for a movement that could save the country, and perhaps beyond the country.  Moving to Dallas may be the right thing for you to do right now, but if you think there are no snobs in Dallas, you have your head up your butt.  These attacks you make on New York make you sound downright ungrateful for what this city did for you and the movement you speak for.  You’re better than this.  Good luck to you Glenn, and God bless you and our country.

You don’t get it. While not all New Yorkers are this way, there’s a certain subset of crazy far leftists, many of whom are in NYC, who *hate* Glenn Beck and who would potentially harm him and/or his family. Especially if the Occupy protests get out of hand next summer. His wife was harassed at an outdoor park in New York last summer, remember?

Glenn is simply joking about the garbage, which is simply light-hearted banter, vs. going on and on about the crazy radicals who would hurt his family…he’s trying to keep it light here. But if I were him, I’d leave too. And heck, I’ve had leftists friends disown me for not supporting Obama, and they were good friends of mine. I can only imagine what those same types of people would do to a perceived *enemy.*  So why should he stay in NYC to try to fix it when there are better places for him and his family to move to?

I also don’t get this attitude that New York “made” him. No it didn’t. New York is simply a label for a city, which is a non-thinking entity filled up with people. He doesn’t owe “New York” anything.

  • Anonymous

A pop up commercial?  Really, Glenn?  A bit of an oversell on this site, don’tcha think?

  • Robert Starkand

Don’t misunderstand.  Its not his moving that I object to.  Its the potshots he took.  He could have been more gracious.  My views in my community in Brooklyn are well known.  I don’t move away from them, they move away from me, or rather they don’t bring up the subject.  And you’re simply wrong.  New York did make him as it did many others.  It is the place where you make your reputation.  Abraham Lincoln said that his speech at Cooper Union made his career.  So New York’s not just a label.. It is the media center, the financial center, the fashion center, the literary center, the arts center of our country.

  • http://twitter.com/beyondpartisan beyond partisan

    a) You are not a famous personality that is demonized by the left – there is a HUGE difference between you being well-known in your hood vs. Glenn Beck, who is a walking target.

    b) Speaking as a non-native but spent-most-of-my-adult-life in Los Angeles person, you New Yorkers think your city is the center of the universe, and it’s not. Angelenos would certainly take issue with your idea that New York is the center of “everything,” and the rest of the country couldn’t care less.

New York did *not* make Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck made himself. And if he hadn’t made it in New York, he would have made it elsewhere.

  • Robert Starkand

The Beck’s house in CT – he bought for $4,250,000 in ’05 – was on the market for $3,999,000.  I’m pretty sure it did not sell for $850,000…pretty sure.  It had pool, hot tub, 6 bedrooms, 5 full baths and 3 half baths, and 8720 square feet of living area.  Just saying.  Ask my kids and my Jeff – I am the HUGEST Beck fan out there, but it seems he is not living what he is ‘preaching.’  Am I wrong? Please…..I want to be wrong!

Glenn, I am a born and bred NY’er and ashamed that you were treated so badly. I no longer live in NY and have been able to step back and get some perspective. NY and NY’ers have changed so much over the decades. Like the doorman, there are still working-class, common-sense people. Mostly, NY’ers have become soft and cannot get enough of liberalism. Just after 911, it was exciting to see all the American flags flying and to feel the patriotism. That lasted for a short while and when hordes of NY’ers should have shown up to protest the ground zero mosque, there were too few. I will always love my memories of being a little girl and my grandfather taking me to all the boroughs to sightsee and get pistachio ice cream. I have many cherished memories. Glenn, I’m sorry to say it but NY does’nt deserve you. Thanks for all you do. May G-D bless.

Oh please – stop being so dramatic – I disagree, Glenn Beck would never have had the exposure that he had with Fox News, anywhere else. That’s what made him – I don’t think he’s doing as well now – since he left there.

Geez, if you had owned that house in CT would you have sold it to regain your investment?  That is what people who make investments do . . . . unless you are looking for a reason to criticize someone because you are filled with envy and malace!  What in the H*LL is wrong with you people?  Truly, this is NONE of your business!

You don’t like Glenn’s positions, that’s fine.  That is your right.  But don’t down grade a man for doing the best he can with what he has!  He has worked hard to get where he is and deserves the success that allows him to live the way he does.  How about bashing the “ubber rich” who paid for that house . . . . do you have any words of criticism for that person?????

GET A LIFE!! And pray for a little forgiveness and compassion while you are at it! After all, God is watching YOU as he protects Glenn from your poisonous attitude!!!!

Let me see . . . a fancy cup of coffee probably costs more in your neck of the woods than the $5 a month it costs to belong to GBTV.  Sounds to me like your problem has nothing to do with the price of the show and EVERYTHING to do with envy because Glenn is successful and is able to try something new.  Better adjust that attitude because the Nineth Commandment says “you shall not covet”  PERIOD, and we all know that the Good Lord WILL have the last word as they are carrying you out feet first!!

I am trying to figure out just exactly you want Glenn to do . . . hire you to work on his staff, pay you a big salary, provide lots of benefits, and “spread the wealth”??  Yep, just another progressive on the hunt for a free ride . . . . perhaps you should go down and join OWS!!!!  Surely that must the flavor of the month in NYC!!!!

And by the way, with “I’m huge fan of yours, Glenn. I miss the 5:00 TV show.” fans like you, who needs any enemies!!!!!

    Robert,

Very well said.  I am happy for Glenn that he has become such a success and has really brought more conservative values to the forefront.  However, It has pained me to log in and listen everyday to the constant slamming of NYC and the Northeast.

I really dislike the exchange when Glenn asks an audience member where s/he is from and s/he responds from NYC or NJ, etc.  He responds, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry’.  Ugghg!  I get it!  But c’mon!  What kind of impression does that give to the rest of the country?  I’d like to hold my head up high and be proud of where I’m from.

Places like Detroit and other cities get the same treatment.  However, there are good people who live there as well.

I totally understand that people can be mean, but people can be mean everywhere.  You are right about NYC rising up from the horror that was 1970′s  If Glenn thinks NYC’s a #%$%hole now, he should have lived here and in the neighboring areas back then.

It’s far better than it was.  It just makes me sad that he has to hyper-focus on the negative.  There are a lot of people in NYC and the Northeast who supported him as he was building his ideas up.  But the constant bashing without giving a little shout-out to those who live here who supported him is just wearing and sad.

I AM a native of this area and I am tired of getting the potshots.  Not all of us in this area suck.  And not all of us can just move, as we have family to take care of and work here.  So I’m gonna make the best of it and live my principles despite the liberal resistance.

    Just my 2 cents.

I would consider moving to Texas; however, I think that the land can only support a limited number of people due to water and climate concerns. We all cann’t crowd into Texas and keep society functioning. Folks like Glenn will be able to provide because of their unique contributions. But with family in upstate NY, I’m here for better or worse. My option is to get farther from NYC and the main transportation routes and have sufficient supplies to survive any natural or other disaster. As for the rats in NYC, they are a potential source of food for City residents as many societies in history have found out when collaspe came.

Only in NYC can a man land on the enormous bags of garbage and survive! (If this had happened this year, the trash from OWS would leave enough bags to reach the 9th story ) I remember walking on a sidewalk in NYC that was next to a construction site on the street and looking down in the massive hole there were rats and they were the size of a cat! (Of course there are ALWAYS rats down in the subway stations – they can live tax free & live off the scraps of OWS – perhaps their pets and mascot!)

I love the fact that he is in the position to move his family/business to Texas. For the sake of his family mainly because the treatment they each have received from the far-left leffties is “dispicable!” though I always admired his “straightforward talk with the FACTS to back
Everything Up! I love the fact that Glen made the “”leffties crazy!!” because he is one of the smartest and wisest men (I believe) of our time…

However, all that being so very true, I am thankful that he is in the position to move his family and business (and probably all or most of his employees) to a more “sane” atmosphere. I wish Glenn and his family and employees the Greatest Blessing of All….. Peace and Sanity.

I miss his show everyday on FNC at 5pm est. since the end of June 11. I am one of the “underemployed” that was Unemployed when he went off FNC. Lucky Glenn — Wish I could follow him to Texas. Here on the Left-Coast in Oregon, it’s an ongoing battle against the loud-mouthed, gimme-gimme-gimme liberals. OR and WA are actually quite divided politically.  We could easily change into West Oregon (conservative) and East Oregon (liberal) — same with Washington state. Most people in and around Portland and Eugene would care little about true freedom — they have forgotten the famous quote —

“those that would give up essential freedoms for security deserve neither freedom or security.”  I think that was Thomas Jefferson.

It is a sad repose that two of the most beautiful states in the union are enveloped by people so open-minded their brains have fallen out. I love Oregon’s beauty but hate their liberal ideolgy.

Well, I of course wish you & your family the best with your move West.  But having family in the West myself — New Mexico & California — it never ceases to amaze me that these folks “never met a rule they didn’t like”.  Unless one lives in a “gated” community in New York you will not find the limits or controls -placed upon daily living that one finds rather routinely in the West.  There would be an uprising here –and rightly so if some of these so-called community rules were attempted to be installed in our neighborhoods — for example where I live on Long Island.  We frankly have a “live & let live philosophy” — for the most part.  Frankly, our ‘Founding Fathers’ would cringe  at the laws or community resolutions passed designed to control our neighbors!  What nonsense !

So Glenn, what’s with the title “Glenn Non-sarcastically Bids NYC Adieu”?  Wow, am I leading with my chin by even commenting on your move ? I mention these things mainly because you seem to cite the bleaker side of New York and NYC.  .As New Yorkers will say “Don’t kid a kidder”.  If you want to move west, fine – but just remember there is no other city like New York City nor any other state like New York State. …… and this is from someone who has travelled extensively internationally and who has lived overseas.

Being a New Yorker is much like being an American only on a smaller scale - it’s not easy – you take the good with the bad, the sublime with the ridiculous …etc..  It’s all one big melting pot – it takes years to come to fruition. But it does happen. Patience / perseverence rules.  You know the old saying — ‘If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen’!

OK, enough said ………………for the moment.

    Regards

Actually, Texas split off of Mexico because slavery was illegal under Mexican law. The Texicans wanted to become part of the “Golden Circle” of slaveholding states that they felt were  to be the powers of the continent. As Texas became a Republic, the Anglo-Americans imported more and more slaves and further restricted laws against free blacks. When Texas became a State, it outlawed free negroes period and when the Civil War commenced, it seceeded specifically upon the issue of slavery and joined the Confederacy. East Texas was a major cotton production region and this major industry was fueled entirely by slave labor.

Brave, yes. Proud–obviously. Free? Not always. Not by intention. Only by federal imposition.

If you knew anything about Texas history you’d choke on it. Poor, poor “ignorant Africans”; who were conquered and made slaves by other “ignorant Africans”(who still practice slavery); who sold them to those lovable Arabs(who still practice slavery), who took them across the Sahara Desert and sold them to sweet, lovable Europeans (who
are too lazy to practice anything), who, ultimately brought their slaves to the “New World” along with as many “white endentured servants” as they could. Your pretend knowledge of history is as phony as you are. My family got to Texas in 1833 when did yours get here? The war with Mexico was fought because of a lying, theiving tyrant who thought he was the Napolean of the west. Period.

Forgive me if I’m a bit mystified. You recite a litany of slave-based evil and attribute this evil to the foundation of Texas before, during and after its independence from Mexico. You then seem to imply that I don’t understand Texas history. If your family got into Texas in 1833, chances are they were red-neck, Scots Irish hillbilly hicks from Kentucky or Tennessee who couldn’t make it in the hills and had dreams of slave-driven cotton plantations in the new “West,” and rather than emigrate to the opening regions of Missouri, made a move to Texas at Mexican invitation. Thereafter the so-called “European” or “Anglo-American” influence, which was actually mostly from the Appalachian regions and made up of Scots-Irish Protestant, or “Ulster Scots,” immigrants, brought more and more slaves into Texas until Mexican authorities realized it was becoming a serious problem. In any case, Texicans in fact maneuvered themselves into preserving slavery under Mexican rule by classifying African slave imports as “indentured servants,” under a scheme where payback was impossible and servitude was essentially perpetual. Indeed, so-called “servants” of African descent were not even paid wages, miniscule as they were under these contracts, until they were 18. This whole ploy to preserve slavery was outlawed when Mexican legislators limited such contracts to 10 years in 1832, just a year before your ancestors would have been allowed to bring their “servants” into the state. But, as I say, this impediment to the importation of slaves was soon rectified by your forefathers declaring their independence from Mexico, and when survival against Mexican retaliation in that mode proved tenuous, by siding with the US in the greater Spanish-American war and claiming the protection of the soon-to-be Confederacy and its Congressional agents to insure the protection of a Texan slave-state.

You correctly identify the original supply of black African slaves as primarily originating from fellow black African slavers, these actually mostly being Muslim traders capturing animistic natives, which I suppose you may also know were primarily purchased by the Portuguese and transferred on to the American slave markets in the Eastern colonies and later American states. And as I say, American immigrants moving into Texas brought with them this practice with increasing degree until they had built an entire economy based upon cotton and slave labor.

While it can certainly be argued credibly that the American South rebelled from their Union covenants over many trade-based issues other than slavery, it is not credible to suggest that Texas rebelled from Mexican rule over any other primary issue than the “white” immigrant economy’s dependence upon slave labor for their continued ability to rape and pillage the new territory of its natural resources, and there-by fulfill their immigrant lust for wealth and fortune in the Promised Land.

Were your forefathers slaverholders then? If not, what seems to be the nature of you criticism of my overtly cogent understanding of Texas history?

    2. You then changed your story and claimed that you were on a BOOMER. You lied.

    4. As mtclayboy you claimed that you joined the Navy and served for five years on a submarine but according to the timeline you gave that was proven to be a lie. You lied.

    5. As mtclayboy you said that you were a Fireman. As strtlk, you claimed you were a Fireman.

    6. As mtclayboy and as strtlk, you posted the same bigotry and hate against Glenn Beck almost word for word even using the same spelling and grammatical errors and focusing on the children. I’ve posted many of them here already.

Are you catching on everyone? He’s a liar plain and simple and nothing he claims can be believed.

There are good and bad about every state. I have lived out west and loved it. I was born in NY and love it also. I agree, it is not a competition!!!! Bashing is poor taste because it tends to send the wrong message to many people, and in this case NY. I was born and raised a New Yorker and I lived out west for many years. The west has a lot to offer but, wait a minute SO DOES THE EAST. So please stop putting down NY, it’s not cool or funny anymore. Glenn, I truly hope you and your wife and children have many blessings where EVER you may want to live.

I agree, it’s not a competition is it? I am a born New Yorker and love it. I also lived out west and loved it. As far as I am concerned, every state has good and bad points – period! Please stop with the bashing New Yorkers, it is NOT cool and NOT funny anymore. Also, it sounds just like a foreign country that hates America. It is nobodys buisness what Glenn’s house sold for or what he paid for his new house. That is between him and GOD.
On the other hand – Glenn, I truly hope you, your wife, and children are blessed where ever you may live!

Hmmmmm, Gee, I never heard ANY New Yorker say from there thoughts “New York is the center of the universe.” The truth of the matter IS that New York, Miami, “Los Angeles” San Diego, Dallas, ‘Frisco, Portland, ETC. ETC. are WELL KNOWN PLACES THAT MOST PEOPLE CONSIDER VISITING – SOME EVEN LIVING IN SUCH CITIES! Like I have stated, I was born a New yorker and love it and wait a minute I lived in San Diego and Northern CA. and Boise, Idaho! I have very fond memories of living out west as HERE in NY. My dear, you seem like you have some issues. AND I AM TALKING HERE ABOUT CITIES NOW, AND NOT GLENN WHO I TRULY LOVE AND AM HAPPY FOR HIM.
Come on – good and bad in EVERY city. Don’t be so narrow minded.
NOW about Glenn I agree he is a targeted person. Let’s pray protection around him and his family. He has given us much good info. A wonderful man.

What is wrong with you landofaahs! You have exposed yourself as just plain rude. Do you actually care about people anywhere except on your own little planet?????  Are you still in grammer school? You seem like the type that would not mind if NY were bombed. There are really – really good people that live in NY. “AGAIN!!” > good and bad anywhere you go. Just think you need to ponder that for awhile. Maybe, you would not be so uncaring and mean spirited towards your fellow countrymen/women. Just sayin’

Ooops.  That would be the tenth commandment, turdle.  And according to our Lord, whoever calls his brother a fool is a murderer.  Matt 5:22.  So why don’t we try an attitude adjustment on your end also.  Or, as God would say, “Take the log out of you own eye first….”

You have a messed up view of God if you think he’s out to get this person and just loves little Glenny sooooooo much just because he’s…well he’s Glenn Beck and he’s on the side of America, which we all know God only loves America..I suggest you start to study the life of Christ to learn what God’s character is like!

mrmah85 – STUCK…People are “still”, (thus far) free to go where ever they want. The United States as a whole is our birth place and we should all pray and humble ourselves before our LORD. We/I all need his help. This country is by far the greatest country, but the sins of our nation have become a stench to our LORD! I pray not just for my state NY or TX, but as a whole. Do you see….We should not trust in the arm of the flesh nor lift up anyone in high esteem EXCEPT THE MOST HIGH. THE LORD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO DESERVES ALL, ALL, PRAISE AND HIM ONLY. I do thank HIM for sending godly men and women. But there are really so few. I have to examine my own self daily because I find myself in need of my LORD JESUS every day. Blessings

    Doreen:

First of all, thank you for using your real name.  That means a lot to me, for I feel that in this era of Internet monikers, it’s easy to hide behind a clever screen-name.

I would like to clarify what I said.  When I said “stuck”, I meant the the following.

To put it bluntly, Glenn Beck is a wealthy man.  I do not begrudge his financial gains, for I know his life-story and, truly, he has earned every penny.  One of the benefits of being wealthy includes the ability to move from one state (New York) to another state halfway across the country (Texas) with great ease.  Some fans of Glenn are not as lucky, for this economy has put them in a financial straightjacket and, thus, they are “stuck” and have to grin and bear it in New York or whatever ultra-progressive state/region within the U.S.

I myself am not a New Yorker, but I am a Callifornian, where it is near-impossible as of late to even think about moving to another state because California’s government has put a choke-hold on most of us.  For some of us Californians, it is all we can do to make it month-to-month.  I am not poor, but, rather, I am middle-class and I feel it.  So most of us can only dream of moving to another state.

In regards to your comments about the Lord…  I completely agree.  I am sorry if I came across as to imply that Glenn is some holy, diefied man sent by God.  He is not.  Glenn is not my Savior or God, Jesus is.  So, yes, when all is said and done and when all the dust settles, let us look to our Savior Jesus for guidance and Truth.

I hope this clears the air.

    - Marc (that is my real name)

I live in fly-over couintry and am dissed every dasy by California on one hand and the East on the other. Perhaps you are n ot part of that crowd, but look at the portait painted about us “breedin hick racists” on a regular basis. New Yorkers are rude to the nth degree. They are pushy and try to tell everyone else how to live. In my neck of the woods, people are respectful enough to mind their own business, a trait seemingly lost on the supposed literate. You know when people ask if your still in gramar school. Thank you for making my point for me. I don’t wish you or anyone else in the world ill. Just leave the rest of usd alone. Perhaps if our foreign policy was not driven by easterners who want to mnd everyone elses business, we might not have as many problems.

    mrmah85 (Marc)
Very well said. Thank you for taking the time to clarify exactly what was meant by you. :+)  Yes, I see, and you are right in regards to most people who can only dream of going to whatever state they may want to live in. I am middle class too and it is getting harder and harder.
I know you did not mean that Glenn was like a god, and I am sorry also if you perceived it that way. I just love the LORD so much and it pains me to see our great country fall. Our country men/women are biting one another so as to take our eyes off of our LORD. (Set up by the devil). Happens to me too, and then I feel a prodding in my spirit and I know it is the LORD leading me to pray. Marc – I don’t think we have a lot of time, and you are right we ALL need to look to our SAVIOR JESUS for guidance. HE WILL give us HIS peace to endure.
I also appreciate all that Glenn Beck has brought to my thinking. And I love how he is not ashamed of his beliefs in the LORD and how he as I and many others stand with Isreal.
Thank you again – and many blessings!
P.S. I live in CA a long time ago and it is such a beautiful state and it is sad what is happening to it as well. I was blessed to see such beautiful sights there and in other states out west. Spent most of my time in Boise, Idaho – Gorgeous sights as well.
Anyway…I am back in my home state of NY now, it is beautiful too. Good and bad every where! Stay close to GOD my friend and let us pray with the many other true belivers for our country. As you know this is a critical time.
Think of the ‘AWSOME ETERNITY” our LORD promised us with HIM!!
    :+)

Too bad. You would see a lot of nice places, many things to do, AND also nice people. But like so many you base your facts on WHAT SOMEONE ELSE SAYS. It’s okay not to have a desire to ever visit NY. Some like it, some don’t. I love NY. Upstate NY is awsome. I am most sure there are GOOD AND BAD about EVERY state. Do you get it?
    Blessings!

Welcome to Dallas!  Err. if you have allergies, they will knock you down here and you may need some medication to fight it.  Other than that it can be boring compared to New York.  Would love to see you in a show here :)

Hey! We have a opossum named Larry and one named Loraine, for that matter. We live near a greenbelt with a large creek (just shy of a river). Fox, raccoon, opossum, squirrels, and armadillo visit on occasion. Anyway, apparently, NYC rats are about the size of opossum, so don’t be confused. The Texas opossum (oldest mammal in Texas) is actually a beneficial predator. They eat the snakes and are well fed.  They’re clean little suckers, too. Hilarious watching them bathe in the pool (we have it back-washed often); they like sunning by the waterfall. We’re thinking about putting up some tiny umbrellas.

Looking forward to having you all in Texas, GB.
