Catholic Church circulates anti-Obama letter

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

What do you think the MSM’s reaction would be if the Bush administration were to create a law that all Muslims were forced to eat bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches daily? Obviously not very well – so why hasn’t anyone made a peep about the Obama administrations blatant attack on Christianity, specifically Catholics, where institutions would be mandated to cover things that blatantly violated their beliefs? Glenn read the letter and talked to Catholic League’s Bill Donahue about it on radio today.

What did the letter say?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

I write to you concerning an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the Church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith. The federal government, which claims to be “of, by, and for the people,” has just been dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people — the Catholic population — and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faithful.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees’ health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those “services” in the health policies they write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies.

In so ruling, the Obama Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled to either violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Obama Administration’s sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply.

We cannot—we will not—comply with this unjust law. People of faith cannot be made second class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America’s cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture,

only to have their posterity stripped of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect her sacred rights and duties. I hope and trust she can count on this generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.

And therefore, I would ask of you two things. First, as a community of faith we must commit ourselves to prayer and fasting that wisdom and justice may prevail, and religious liberty may be restored. Without God, we can do nothing; with God, nothing is impossible. Second, I would also recommend visitingwww.usccb.org/conscience,to learn more about this severe assault on religious liberty, and how to contact Congress in support of legislation that would reverse the Obama Administration’s decision.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

+Alexander K. Sample

“I want to make one thing very clear here. This is not about contraception. Why do you think he has abortion‑inducing drugs involved in this thing?” Donahue said.

“The goal is to force Catholic hospitals and all hospitals to provide for abortion coverage. They’re just starting with what they think is the least offensive. We know exactly where they’re going.”

Donahue spoke of other incursions of government into the church.

“Just a few weeks ago, while we did win in a unanimous decision, unprecedented, 9 to nothing, the Supreme Court affirmed the idea of ministerial exception, meaning that all churches have the right to decide who works there and how to handle their employees, hiring and firing. The Obama administration did not want that. The Obama administration stood with the New York Times. They want the Federal Government making these decisions. Now, whether or not we have women priests, that’s for Catholics to decide. Obama wants the Federal Government to decide. That’s why he argued this case in the Supreme Court,” Donahue said.

Glenn wanted to know what non-Catholics could do to show their support. Donahue encouraged people to visit CatholicAdvocate.com as well as to press the Congressmen for “respect for rights of conscious act.”

The lines of battle now are established; expect the Feds to come down on the Catholic groups like a ton of bricks and do all they can to use force of law, intimidation and pressure to get them to either conform to Obama’s nightmare made reality or face annhilation.

I can see Obama using this matter as a pretext to start the seizure of religious opposion groups properites and resources.

The end game is now in hand, may God be with us and guide us in the storm at hand.

Yes but lets not forget God’s requirement for us to fight our battles as well.  In the end men die and will be judged for their actions or in our case our lack of action if we decide not to do everything humanly possible to stop evil.

“The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers”

I wonder what the almost exceptions are. If it still means that churches can have an exception but that employers who just happen to be Catholic can’t, then I’m just fine with this decision.

This is a blatant lie, Obama did not advocate this drug he advocated the right to choose.
The church has no business in this discussion, this is a cheap and shoddy attempt to turn
Catholics away from the right to vote their conscience. I  am a Catholic and I will continue to work for Obama and his reelection. Why did the church not speak against the racism that is displayed against this human being and the office of president. the day is gone where the church can control and brain wash Catholics into doing what the church feels is in their interest.
The separation of church and state needs to be respected.  If the church is taking cues from that idiot racist Beck, you can assume responsibility for more Catholics leaving the church.
The time has come and is over due for the church to stop it’s hypocracy.
For centuries the church guilted people into submission and it ran people out of the church.
If you continue on this course you will lose more Catholics.. to speak in a church against a president is outrageous, where was the outrage when Bush sent young men and women to their
deaths, you shook Holy water on their graves and allowed it to continue.
Stop this now before you empty the church  again.

You were surprised that Catholics voted for him? Catholics are a plurality in the gay marriage friendly liberal northeast so it shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Catholics don’t listen to their church leaders and half of them don’t even go to mass. My Catholic friend was shocked when I asked her if I could go to mass with her because she was used to most Catholics not even wanting to go to mass.

  • Ryan Frederick

They voted for him because he said he wouldn’t do this. You’ll see. Catholics are united on this one.

  • Anonymous

The only Catholics who are against this decision are the Catholics that already voted against Obama the first time around. Contraception is much more widely accepted than abortion so if Catholics voted for Obama knowing his abortion views, then why would they vote against him for this contraception decision when limiting contraception is such a rarely held view that Romney dodged the question in a debate. Personally, I see this changing nothing about how Catholics vote.

We need leadership on this one to unite all people of good will.  Someone, PLEASE, come up with a plan.  Meanwhile congregations should pray and fast to plead with God to answer us with His grace and His plan and to forgive us for being too complacent in the past so that this type of thing could happen.

I am aghast at the audacity of this administration.  We can not stand by and watch another freedom be stripped away from us especially done so in stelth. I hope and pray people actually remember this at the polls this November.  This strikes at the very core of religious freedom of Christianity. If not stopped this can close many, many Catholic institutions that reach out and help in so many ways.  Although I am not a Roman Catholic, I support them and will fast and pray along with this Bishop.

First, the separation of Church and State to which you supposedly ascribe to has nothing at all to do with those of faith expressing their beliefs based on their faith.  What you mistakenly believe to be the separation of Church and State is designed to keep the State out of the Church, not keep the beliefs of those with faith from expressing their faith.  Please find a better argument than ‘racism’ against Obama.  It seems where a logical discussion is too much trouble, the default argument is always racism.  To speak in church against government policies is the very basis for our Republic.  That is where the original arguments came from, the pulpit!!.  People’s faith is the very basis of their conscience, not the antithesis of it.  While you obviously disagree with the beliefs of the Catholic church (and no, I am not Catholic), they have a Constitutionally protected right to those beliefs and the right under the Second Amendment to express those beliefs.  I feel sorry for your lack of understanding and your obvious fear that people might disagree with you.

  • Anonymous

We have to stand with the Catholics.  All Christians should see this as a blatant attach on all Christians.  They know what they are doing.  They are so sure that the Catholics will not fight this.  Bless them for taking a stand.

He advocated the right to choose?  The right for churches to choose what kind of health insurance they provide?  No, there is no choice here.  If someone wants to buy birth control, they can buy it.  No one is stopping them.  This is the President of the United States forcing institutions to comply with his will.  There is no choice.

During several past elections at least 50 % of catholic priests were voting for Democrats who
always voted pro abortion. I frequently asked my  priests (I’m a Catholic) how God will judge them for supporting this kind of behavior. The only answer I got, was a question– where I’ve got this statistics.     My Answer– you know how you voted and how most of our bishops and cardinals voted.
Most of you confused bible and Lord Jesus Christ with Communist Manifesto and adopted Karl Marx as your new apostle propagating liberation “theology”
YOU are the worse enemies of our church and faith.

atl134- you misunderstood my post. I am a practicing Roman Catholic, who attends Mass every week, reads the Bible and warned my Catholic friends and non catholic friends about Obama.  I take my faith and practice of it very serious.  Being a R.N. who worked in A Catholic hosptial, I think I have a very different view than your negative/judgemental rant which in my opinion seemed to lump all catholics into your neat small minded opinion.  Obama did not get elected by uniformed Catholics alone.  I detest abortion and believe in my heart & soul it has caused the decline of this Country which leads to the destruction of the human family.  The break down of the family will cause the break down of society and is what we are now witnessing. I encourage you to put aside any prejudgements you have about catholics and pray /fast with us to defeat this evil.

  • Anonymous

I do not mean to lump all Catholics together, I’m just saying  that there is a sizable percentage of the Catholic population who does not care what leadership says. My mom, dad, sister, her boyfriend, his parents, my aunt, uncle, cousin, other uncle grandmother (these on my moms’ side of the family), about 10 more cousins and several more aunts and uncles (on my dad’s side of the family). My family is full of non-practicing Catholics and even the ones that do show up to mass are liberal on contraception and abortion. I went to Penn State, lots of Catholic friends there, and only one of them went to Mass outside of the holidays and almost all of them are pro-choice.

I will pray with you though, after all I do attend mass with a Catholic friend of mine here in Utah (incidentally she’s also pro-choice). I’m sorry that my comments came across as disparaging, I don’t mean it as an insult to Catholics. After all, I support expanded access to contraception so I’m happy that many Catholics agree.

The sad part of this situation is that the Catholic Church SUPPORTED “universal health-care.  The handwriting was on the wall when that great “Catholic” University,  Notre Dame covered up its religious symbols and icons for the o’bama’s “visit”.

No one is guiltless. To question the validity of Holy Orders and other sacraments,is in opposition to the teaching of Christ’s Church. It is people who fail. Reconciliation includes: Confession of the sin, an expressed desire to not commit the sin again and Penance. All three. Only the repentant and God know if the Reconciliation is satisfied – you cannot decide.

I don’t know why this surprises anyone.  We all know from his own words where he got his religious ideas–Jeremiah Wright.  To get you views of Christianity from such a twisted monster could only result in a blatant disregard for Christian beliefs.  Then as if anyone doubted where Obama stood, he belittled people for clinging to guns and religion…notice the “religion” part of that statement.  He’s evil.  I don’t have any doubt about that.  Our country cannot afford, niether monetarily or morally, to have this man as president for another 4 years.  The damage he will inflict on this country once he doesn’t have to worry about currying favor with the electorate for a re-election will put a profound hurt on our country that we may never recover from.

The other “small families of 4 or less I dop not remember. Now in the year 2012, you would not find families with more than three at the most. The family would usally consist of 2kids and a parent. Just like how Catholic Charities has had to get out of the adoption business in jurisdictions where adoption agencies were mandated to allow same-sex couples to adopt, Catholic hospitals will have to stop providing health insurance coverage for their staffs if they are required to provide coverage for contraception, sterilization, and abortifacient drugs.  This bill will surely be challenged in the courts if it is not repealed.

Correct me if I am wrong here.  But did I not just read, “The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week
that almost all EMPLOYERS, including Catholic EMPLOYERS, will be forced
to OFFER their employees’ health coverage that includes sterilization,
abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception……“services” in the health policies they
write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as
a part of their policies.” –??  This may not be in keeping with the Catholic perspective on these issues.  However, I do not see that ANYONE is being FORCED to commit these acts.  This does NOT stipulate the Catholic hospitals MUST provide these services….. I simply fail to see the argument here….. Yes, this is a government OF the people By the people and FOR the people — of whom certain employees MAY not be Catholics.

    Not me.  Not Santorum:
Santorum offers up more blah blah blah

    Tuesday, January 10, 2012

    By Tony Norman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

To be a supporter of former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum during
his run for the Republican presidential nomination is to find oneself in
a perpetual state of denial about what he truly believes.
Small government conservatives want to believe he’s one of them,
despite a record of supporting every massive spending initiative,
including unfunded wars, put forward by the Bush administration.
Mr. Santorum’s “I’m from coal country” spiel resonates with many
blue-collar voters despite a long record as one of the kings of the K
Street hustlers. Some with libertarian impulses support the former
senator despite his skepticism about a right to privacy enshrined by the
    Constitution.
There are many who fear the specter of intrusive government who are
solidly in Mr. Santorum’s corner despite his starring role in the Terri
    Schiavo right-to-die spectacle.

‘The UN already has a program in place to solve all these religious issues. It’s called, “United Relgious Initiative”, it is headed by an Episcapol Bishop by the name of Bishop William Swing. The purpose is to merge all religions. It was developed in the mid 1990′s and is in 58 countries. Quote from Bishop Swing, “There is a lot of terror and violence in Scriptures . There has to be a critique of that. We have to hold the religious feet to the fire for the violence and terrror within them”.  Now, how scary is that?  WAKE UP PEOPLE.,

I would not say she is completely clueless…Fact: 32% of catholics vote for religious beliefs compared to 70% of evangelicals.  Catholics have consistantly voted “democratic” since the 1930′s.  The organization “Catholic Democrats”, housed in all  50 sates, regularly participate in promoting interactions between high members of the church and democratic leaders.  The next organization, a far more serious concern, and promoted by the infamous “George Soros”, is the “Catholics in Allience For the Common Good”, I’ll let you check that org. yourself because you probably think i’m making this up…I”m not indicating ALL catholics support these organizations and vote consistantly democrat, but many do

ironic that the motto for this years coming election is the same as Obamas in 2008. HOPE AND CHANGE

  • Anonymous

Certainly the Catholic church is larger and more powerful than any president, prime minister, etc.  The Obama administration has far too many mis-guided and ill-minded leaders, to include President Obama himself.  It never ceases to amaze me how many citizens of this great country remain sold on President Obama and his minions who want to take us in a direction most of us do not want and certainly do not agree with.  What will it take to wake us up?  Haven’t we seen and heard enough these past three years to want to see real hope and change?  I have and I honestly hope and pray many others have or eventually will.

They are enslaved by The Liar. They want to point the finger at others and say: “It’s their fault”. If we give them a false permission, they would be right.

Thanks Glenn for this post.  To all of the Christians  on this post, if I have ever offended you, I am sorry and ask forgiveness.   I am, like all of you, a most sinful human being.  But we must in all of our humanity as brothers and sisters in Christ, stand up for life.  Though our differences be many we must see that God is not mocked and as I fear, most just.
Long have we been timid in our approach to not offend those who disagree with us.  But, I believe it is time for us to speak not only the truth but to do so boldly and with conviction, stern in the belief of the righteous stand which Christ taught us.
I believe it is time for us to not only speak the truth but to hold those who are swayed by the evil one to account.  It is time for us to place upon them the shame and “shunning” that they not only deserve, but that also may bring them back to sanity.  I am no longer going to just ignore people who think it is alright to kill babies in the womb, but I am going to confront them with all of the indignation for which their beliefs deserve.  If shame cannot convince them then intolerence of being around them is warranted.

    PS: Have a good day

Why are so many blaming Obama’s administration when it was the catholics who supported him overwhelmingly in 2008? We can’t have it both ways. People must keep religion faith out of politics. Americans have to wake up, no matter what they believe in. When you see a bad president, you must do what you did to Carter in the next election. When a president uses his executive order so carelessly, doing whtever he thinks is best, he MUST be stopped right away. There is NO room in the WH for a president who does as he pleases without listening to Americans first. Until the US gets a candidate who can speak forcefully like the Australian leader, no changes wil happen. However, the time is ripe to vote Obama out as November is not that far away.

    I’m with the Popes:

“[Socialism] is based nevertheless on a theory of human society peculiar to itself and irreconcilable with true Christianity. Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms; no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist.”

“We make this pronouncement: Whether considered as a doctrine, or an historical fact, or a movement, Socialism, if it remains truly Socialism, even after it has yielded to truth and justice on the points which we have mentioned, cannot be reconciled with the teachings of the Catholic Church because its concept of society itself is utterly foreign to Christian truth.”

Pope Pius XI   From Encyclical:Quadragesimo Anno

“You are aware indeed, that the goal of this most iniquitous plot is to drive people to overthrow the entire order of human affairs and to draw them over to the wicked theories of this Socialism and Communism, by confusing them with perverted teachings.”

Quite the blanket statement, and of no possible value as it does not address specifics.  Is there a particular act or piece of legislation PROPOSED by Romney (not something he ate because his legislature was liberals) that you had on your mind, or was this just a troll jab looking for a response?

People, ALL OF YOU, if you are going to post and denigrate someone, for pity’s sake address specifics. Anything else is merely flinging feces, like the lower primates are wont to do. And unworthy of rational beings.

Less useless vitriol, more rational thought!

All people of FAITH, whether Christian, Jew, Buddhist, or anything else, ought to rally behind the Catholic Church on this one.  I remember a poem about the people in Germany who did not defend their fellow citizens against the onslaught of evil government.  By the time the government came for THEM, there was nobody left to champion their cause.

This is a direct attack on religious freedom and the first amendment and if this is not FIERCELY responded to our combined freedoms will have sustained a terrible loss.  They may anyway, but we MUST, as the Founding Documents require, do our duty as citizens and at least attempt to hold our government to task.

Benjamin Franklin’s statement, “We must all hang together, or assuredly weshall all hang separately” was true at the time of the signing of the Declaration and has not been more apt in our lifetimes.  If we don’t want the evil components of the government coming for US next, we had better rally on this one.

Sorry can’t rally with the Catholic Church, for two reasons, the first is that it’s shocking to hear them yell for religious liberty when they violently suppressed my brand of Christian faith from the getgo and launched 12 crusades, some against muslims, but MOST were against other european christians or pagans.

I just prefer not to “rally” with the antichrist. They also make the abortion issue a “darned if you do, darned if you don’t” because they irrationally ban all contraception. They basically know their faith doesn’t get any converts so they ban all contraception and then they have to work hard on banning abortion to make sure all the “mistakes” they ensured get born to increase their numbers! This is why America will be majority catholic in 10 years. Catholicism is LOSING to conversion, but gains because of their ban on contraception.

And to be clear, I’m AGAINST abortion, but when you CONDEMN anyone who uses protection, EVEN married couples, (forgetting man’s flawed nature) they are playing a sick game of power politics with millions of victims.

Members of my Catholic Church in the Charlotte Diocese in NC received an e-mail message from our Bishop before this article came out to the entire public.  Right away, I wrote to my 3 congresspeople (1 Dem and 2 Repub) and voiced my objections to this ruling.  By extending the mandate to actually take affect in 2013, the Democratic/Obama tactic is to calm the fears of Catholics across the country until after the election and then they’ll come after this with ‘guns blasting.’  Just in case someone is offended by my last sentence, it’s called ‘a play on words.’  Glad to see this article hit the news; hopefully, my fellow Catholics and all those that believe that the government has no right to force us to do anything against our will contact their reps as well..

To PainesGHOST, I agree with Alexes Ovelino-Romney indeed is not much better.  He is truly a career politician saying what the people want to hear to get the votes he needs.  Romney is on record saying that he believes it is a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion, he then goes on to state that he himself believes in pro-life, for his family.  Also, if you go over his ‘Romneycare’ there is not much difference between that and Obama’s plan.  Both unconstitutional.  We need someone to get America back on track-morally, ethically, economically and socially with the rest of the world.  I don’t believe that Romney is the answer, however; if it is Romney vs. Obama-I pick Romney…that being said if it was my dog vs. Obama-I would choose my dog…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Marks/1266358046 Paul Marks

I believe (but I do not know for sure) that Romneycare did the same thing – i.e. mandated that such things as contraception and abortion be covered by health insurance plans. However, the broader point is being ignored here – it is not “just” religious freedom it is ALL freedom. No individual or enterprise should be told what their insurance product MUST cover – that is up to buyers and sellers via CONTRACT.

The whole modern concept of the “mandate” (of which there are so many in State, and now Federal, law) is one of the reasons why health cover in the United States is so expensive. Sellers are FORCED to cover X, Y, Z, even when buyers would prefer their policies not to cover them – if it meant a cheaper PRICE.

If everyone of voting age actually practiced that right, and whom ever the Republican candidate would be, Obama should expect defeat.   Any Democrat with half their brain tied behind his/her back,  has to see the travesty that is Obama.

I am Catholic.  I was upset that the bishops supported a universal healthcare plan in the first place.  While I am glad to see the church take a stand against President Obama’s healthcare plan, I am upset that they did not speak out against the mandate in the first place.  It was as if they were willing to accept this issue forced onto others when they had the impression that this would not go against Catholic beliefs.  I just hope that the bishops will see that this battle is only the beginning and continue to fight against Progressive ideas.  Our duty is to inform them that this is only the beginning and that we can only serve one another when we are governed by Natural Law and not laws imposed by the government.

Your rant against the Catholic Church seems to imply that your brand of “christianity” is okay with abortion.  Otherwise why go through all your hate mongering against the “antichrist” catholics.  You seem to be fine with the senseless murder of innocent unborns.  No wonder you don’t like the church.  You want to call yourself christian, but you want to lve by your own rules, not Christ’s rules.  If anyone is anti abortion, then they would be anti Obama and his Administration’s assault on religious freedom.  If you are not that person, then I question your Christianity.

It’s first and foremost, about getting CONTROL.  You start with the Catholics and the rest will easy pickins’.  We are losing our FREEDOMS, one at a time.  Where do you think it will end?  Do you like Europe or Cuba?  Because that’s what we’ll have.

The “buy-in” was not the error of Christ’s Chruch but the people entrusted to administer that Church. I look with dismay upon the introduction of “social justice”. Words can be deceiving and this is how the “freedom” and “choice” of Abortion was embraced by many people.

The Popes have spoken strongly against socialism:

“We make this pronouncement: Whether considered as a doctrine, or an historical fact, or a movement, Socialism, if it remains truly Socialism, even after it has yielded to truth and justice on the points which we have mentioned, cannot be reconciled with the teachings of the Catholic Church because its concept of society itself is utterly foreign to Christian truth.”

American Catholics helped put Obama in office. The bishops were complicit in supporting the pasaage of “Obamacare.” Most Catholic bishops in the United States are ultra-left progressives. You reap what you sow. It’s a bit late to become indignant. Where were you clowns when Obama, the most pro-abortion Senator, was running for office in 2008?

  • Anonymous

I like how you lump all of the Bishops together. That’s very left of you.

Let me ask you a question, if all of the Bishops are such left wing progressives, why is the Pro-Life march made up mostly of Catholics?

No Church has done more for the unborn than the Catholic Church.

Many here did not vote this clown in.    I did my due diligence prior to voting.   The first time I heard him speak in 2004, he was impressive.  It didn’t take me long to find out all about him though and it was before Glenn Sean or Rush confirmed my findings.   Not many did since he had quite a large percentage of the vote.

1st, to address Poalina Garcia who commented that she cannot support Catholics.  I’m sorry she has so much hatred in her heart.  One must read & know history to understand it.  I am assuming her “brand of faith,” which she mentioned,  was the early faith of Central America.  Thank God Christianity replaced the Aztec faith, or their rulers might still be sacrificing people to the gods.  Or perhaps her faith is one that teaches hatred of the church founded by Jesus Christ to promote its own “brand” of Christianity.  I continue to pray for people with such hatred in their hearts.
2nd, the Catholic faith has promoted natural law and examination of conscience from its beginning. 3rd,  Although, congregations numbers have dwindled in the past, Catholicism is seeing many people returning to the faith, and new converts joining the church.  The chuch has been in existence for 2000+ years, and it will continue to be around until Jesus returns.

But this has nothing to do with  the forementioned points.  It has to do with Christian’s and citizens of this country standing together to uphold the Constitution and our first amendment rights which has been challenged more in the last three years than ever before.  Freedom is handed to us, we need to fight for it and protect it if we intend to keep it.

As a Catholic I am very proud of my spiritual leaders;  We all need to stand up for our moral convictions. I hope that all Christians will unite and stand for morality! It is quite clear that the Obama Administration is paving the way for “bigger and better distruction”.  By dictating that the Catholic ( Christian) Medical Community do what is impossible for us to comply the administration will eliminate morality from our healthcare facilities.  First comes abortion and then euthanasia.  Now there are reports by government bioethisists that justify the killing of humans if it determines that the person does not have the right to live.  Obamacare= increased healthcare costs= drain on resources. All of this research is nothing more than an excuse to validate killing of the unborn and the chronically ill and elderly.  I will fight to the end!!!  God be with us,  We trust in YOU!

You’re painting with a pretty broad brush, J Mason.  I have Catholic friends who do vote

Democrat (even our pastor!) the one who claim to be pro-choice.  Those who voted in

B.O. should really have known better after learning about how he acted in his decisions

while a state senator in Illinois.  If they didn’t dig into his past, shame on them.  Many of

them vote political ideology and figure those things like pro-choice won’t rule the deci-

sions of those for whom they voted.  A dangerous game to play.

Honey, with the passing of Roe vs Wade, the US did enter into the culture of death.

Of course, if B.O. gets reelected (groan) and gets his way with what bills he wants to

pass, we will be deeper in.  The man wants to handle the expense of his healthcare

plan on the backs of the elderly and those deemed ”defective” in some manner or other.

Sad, to contemplate, John, but that looks like that’s how things will unfold.

The way I see it, ”MAC”, while in the seminary, a number of young men are indoctrinat-

socialistic ideas.  So, when something comes out from the gov’t which offers health care

for ALL (especially for the poor and those who have been refused coverage), of course

they will jump at the idea of its being a good thing.   Unfortunately, they may have turn-

ed a blind eye to the character and/or the policies of the one in office.  To the detriment

This is much ado about nothing and just plain silly. When I went to Catholic Schools back in the 1960′s there was always a half dozen kids that came from families of more than five. Now in those same schools you would be lucky to find a student that comes from a family of four. Times have changed and Catholics just use birth control and I hope the Church has figured that out and now onto to another issue to chastise the faithful about.

The teachings of all christian denominations comprise the FAITH of their respective religion.  Just because people of a particular faith violate the teaching of their chosen FAITH, doesn’t make it right.  Putting your faith into practice is difficult.  But who ever claimed life is easy.
This is not about the use of contraception, it’s about the government forcing religious organizations that serve people of all faiths to provide services against its teachings.
Did you know most early hospitals and schools were church based?  Where would this country be now if those faiths didn’t serve people of all faiths?

“…violently suppressed my brand of Christian faith from the getgo and launched 12 crusades, some against muslims, but MOST were against other european christians or pagans.”

What brand of Christianity would that be? What historical records are you basing your comments on?  Do you know during which centuries the crusades took place?  Do you know during which century the first Protestant religion began?

Someone below asked if you are a Gnostic.  I’m curious to know as well because the crusades were in fact against the Muslims and took place hundreds of years prior to the Protestant Reformation. The crusades were a fight to regain the holy land, they were not an oppression of other Christian religions.  There were in fact oppressive acts committed by Catholic GOVERNMENTS, such as the Spanish Inquisition for which the Church is often blamed.

AND, all of this is completely ridiculous since Glenn is asking ALL of us to unite in a fight to protect a God-given right and a freedom that is supposed to be protected by our United States Constituion.  If you would enforce your personal hatred toward the Catholic Church, you are just as bad as someone who would force you to do something against your “brand” of Christianity.  You can’t see the forest for the trees, Paolina.  When we all get caught up in resentment and hatred (over something that may or may not have happened hundreds of years ago) we lose sight of the real issues.  It is of the utmost importance that we all stand strong on the fight to protect religious freedom in OUR country, because, as someone else has commented here, if you let them infringe on the Catholics, YOU WILL BE NEXT.

Paolina said, “And to be clear, I’m AGAINST abortion.” And you said, “You seem to be fine with the senseless murder of innocent unborns.” So how did you come to this conclusion, DesertDog2?

I just think it’s HILARIOUS that in this country where one amendment gives us freedom of religion and freedom of speech, the speech that goes against the government is fine, and the speech that goes against other religions is okay, but I’ll be damned to hell if I ever speak out against Catholics. Well, Catholics deserve to be thrown under the bus.

I’m not sure if you’re Catholic DesertDog2, but to anyone that is Catholic questions Paolina’s Christianity, let me give you a little history lesson that might sting quite a lot.

    Dear Catholics,
What exactly is Christian about the indulgences that Priests offered in the 15th century so that “evil sinners” (women, witches, non-Catholics) could pay money to erase their guilt? Especially when the money taken in from these “noble causes” were only used to see who could build the biggest church.
Also, what is Christian about a man who preaches the word of God sexually abusing young boys? First of all, the Bible forbids homosexuality, and second of all, it forbids fornication.

If you’re a Catholic, you don’t have ANY right to question another Christian. You’re the first ones who were questioned, hence the reason for the protestant reformation. (By the way, I learned about the protestant reformation and the Catholic indulgences of the 15th century in my 10th grade world history class which was taught in a non-religious-specific public school.)

But are we going to fall for this?

Hey, don’t get so over agitated, this is about Judeo-Christian values and not about Catholic doctrines.

You think, your religious group were persecuted???

I, as a Jew,  have quite a reason to be upset about past-Catholic-crimes, yet, I support this cause, because as I said, this is about Judeo-Christian values (maybe in this case it’s more about Christian values) and not about Catholic doctrines.

…while you are looking the “hand of the magician”, at the background Obama tries to replace these values with Muslim values.

And by the way, the Catholic Church did repent for those crimes.

Or you believe that “once a devil, is always a devil”? Quite a fancy religion you must have; any Christian can repent and be forgiven but not Catholics?

O.k. I got it, they must be the “wrong kind of Christians”…

while you’re either a Seventh Day Adventist or Jehova Witnesses. Right?

It’s funny, how you Christians were, or in some cases are, killing each other since 2000 years, over the fact how your god, Jesus, should be worshiped   :)

Catholic hopitals hire non-Catholics. I work in a Catholic hospital, as a nurse, and am NOT Catholic. If the Sisters of St. Francis only hired catholic nurses, they coukl not adequately staff their facility, and as you know, the U.S. has cyclical nursing shortages as it is. Religion is very rarely discussed at my workplace, and that is as it should be. Chaplains visit the patients, and will counsel staff when asked to do so, but otherwise, your opinion is your own. No one is forced to follow catholic restrictions, until it comes time to buy your health insurance plan. In effect, we subsidize the single mothers who work in my unit (three of the female nurse-aides have 4 babies each, and YES, each have 4 baby-daddies).  Two male workers are also baby-daddies, but the good-old-taxpayer paid the Medicaid bill for them. The catholic church may have a rule somewhere about not fornicating, but somehow, we in the health insurance pool have to cover the maternity costs for this non-Christian behavior, and again as tax-payers.
By having birth-control and abortion in health insurance plans, nobody is forced to use it, just as nobody is going to force the Muslim employees to eat pork. The real question is: DO YOU WANT A THEOCRACY? because if you do, watch out. By keeping govt secular, it protects the interest of religion, by not corrupting it with politics. By protecting the freedon of choice, individual rights are protected. Hypothetical question for all to consider: Imagine a huge influx of Muslim immigrants over the next 30 years. Imagine each Muslim immigrant is of the die-hard violent brand of Islamic fanaticism, not interested in blending in to American culture, but in changing it to meet their religious demands. Imagine each of  these fanatical Islamists have at least 14 children each, and successfully convert many to their rabid brand of violent Islam, at first through persausion, & as their numbers grow to near-majority of any community, through intimidation and violence, American ethnic cleansing, so to speak. Now, you Christioans have helped out the new invasion by ESTABLISHING A PRECEDENT FOR THEOCRACY. You Christians may be a majority now, but it may not always be so. If you trample the rights of non-Catholics to limit the size of their families, you in effect are making sure your children will have more non-Catholics as their peers, how do you like that? Catholics can still refuse all forms of artifical birth control/abortion as they like, nobody will be forced to use it. Health insurance plans for Catholic hospitals will finally join the 21st century. It’s about time.

Good for them we are also bring a fight, Or little Internet letter…
President Obama / The White House

     Dear President Obama,

A long time ago you emailed me that you was trying to build
a Health Care Bill…I was surprised to see this email, I waited around 8
months to pass, after I deleted the email before I made it known…..you see I
did not want your personal email address, and I truly hoped it was you, and I
was glade to see you write a little better then I.

But I watched you on TV and you stated that the unborn child
is not protected by Constitutional Law…at that time it was not made known to
me of a hidden issue within the Health Care Bill, because I all ways ducked the
    Abortion issue.

I have a need to know Sir, if the unborn child is not
protected by Constitutional Law, then why have you not Amended Laws therein, as
a Man of faith In God, in respect for a child….?

You see Christians Bible Thump, and in a way failed to share
what God  does when a Conception of Life is completed, that God sends a
Sparrow, with the Soul and blessing for that child….do you sir, understand
that, God blesses that child a soul before the baby is born.

Now buried deep in this Health Care Tax Bill, is funding for
Abortion, both Democrats And Republicans knew of this and still I could not
    figure it out…..

Then this Full Term Abortion – came into my view, a truth…

    U.S. House
Votes to Hold Hearings on Trafficking of Baby Bodies and Organs:

On Tuesday, November 12, 1999, the U.S. House passed HR 350
on a voice vote. The resolution, offered by Representatives Tom Tancredo
(R-CO), Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Joe Pitts, expresses a sense of the House of
Representatives with respect to private companies involved in the trafficking
of baby body parts for profit. It directs the Congress to exercise oversight
responsibilities and conduct hearings and take appropriate steps if necessary, concerning
private companies that are involved in the trafficking of baby body parts for
    profit…..

With American Tax Dollars, you all built a kind of factory

    organs….

I want you to know I saw the video, not the one on the
internet, the one Officials tried to destroy. the one where the child started
crying and the mother freaked out and said no, and the baby was killed any
    way….

You know there was a man who once allowed ones self image to
curse them-self I remember it was the King Of Egypt, by there own hand…

so a little prayer of mine, is for God to allow the American
People to see all who are involved and I pray that all will be arrested and go
    to prison….All…

You see sir. Mr. President, we are not to impressed with
Romney, but just for me and my opinion, it was you, it was the Democrats the
Republicans, the Tea Party, it was all the blogs and News Stories..on and on
that gave life to the Tea Party Independent Forum.

Romney will have his chance, you had yours Sir, and well,
     blew it..

So Mr. Obama, some may think you do not see or know of what
I do, I can share this, of why this Government does see my writings…

     Its because I posted the…

International Boycott Of The Arabic Drug Empire

at the White House Web Site…and I smiled when you all deleted
    it…

I posted the Tea Party Independent Forum…

You do understand sir,  its because I know how to win,
and its time that pass of which we burn, it is the time its self that has for
    us,  the win….

Thank you for creating us, because it was the binders of the Lack
of in-site of who we are, that freed us…

This photo, to some its just a dead baby, a Full Term
Abortion, I could show you more, but I bet $5.00 that this was not shared in
the Supreme Court, for the ruling of the Health Care Bill.

There come a time in our lives when we see all this blogging
has gone no where, but I do promise all, if you share with me a honest
story…I will do my best to bring it to life.

     Henry Massingale.

They didn’t just have kids because they didn’t use birth-control, the many families that I knew and we talked about it many times, wanted to have those 5 kids or more. If they didn’t want them, they wouldn’t have had the majority of them. Now, most families don’t want that many kids.. for many reasons, the mothers work outside the home much more now, also those new families want all of the latest toys and perks that were not available back then, etc.
