Media mocks Wyoming for preparation & ‘Doomsday Bill’

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

You can download and read the bill HERE

Glenn praised the actions of a politician from Wyoming who is bringing something the media has dubbed the ‘Doomsday Bill’ to the table. Glenn is calling this perhaps one of the most responsible pieces of legislation because it calls for Wyoming to prepare for not only catastrophic natural disasters and terrorist attacks – but also in the event of a financial meltdown. Not surprisingly, the media mocked the bill. Get all the information in the clip above from radio

Surprising, actually, that “prepping” has gone so far up the food chain so fast.  Kudos for the sober adults in Wyoming.

It’s a beginning. We all need to consider what basic preparations should be made for the possible collapse of the economy, government or such. Note I do not mean going into a blind panic in preparation – use a realistic approach, as we would do for any expected disaster that may come.

Myself, I am stuck in the city and a small apartment so my options are rather limited; yet I have already been stocking up a 90-day window of food basics and water; plus I would suggest that people scour the stores for extra basic clothing – even two or three extra pairs of pants, shirts, shoes and such can make a difference in the long run.

What started it for me was about five years back (long before I had even heard of Glenn) we had one of three main transformer relays for the city go out; two days w/o power and in the middle of summer for my area of town convinced me to have a reserve built up.

  • landofaahs

I’ve been encouraging similar moves in my state.  Perhaps it will finally catch on.

  • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (cat folk gallery)

I have heard AZ news stations on the radio speak of something similiar here though nothing came of it. I am checking more into it though. Hope it does catch on.

Wait, did Beck just say the Wyoming-government person who proposed the Doomsday Bill is subscribed to GBTV, and Glenn is protecting the logic of the bill, as if Beck had the authority to do so in face of the circumstances… bwahahahahahahahahahaha, it doesn’t get this ridiculous. If you don’t get how idiotic this is then keep paying Beck for your dose of media-born paranoia.

I don’t get how banjo music is mocking. What am I missing? The instrument, when well played, is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.

  • http://www.ssaarabians.homestead.com Victoria Jensen

So now the whole state is classified as Terrorist  because they want to stock up and prepare. That is what they say about families for having more than 7 days of food. I think every State should think to do something to help their own people. And the people should do to help them self in case of God only knows what might happen.

Wait, are you ignoring the wisdom of emergency preparedness in favor of grasping at straw man issues? Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Funny. Despite your comment history I never pegged you for an ostrich liberal.

If we continue to believe that Obama can handle the situation in the Middle-East, we will need a Doomsday preparation. The Washington Times site that is carrying this piece from England will not come up.      Just another government power grab.  If you think that they are looking out for someone other than themselves, you are wrong.  If you want to me taken care of, you MUST DO IT YOURSELF!  Depending on others in a disaster is a recipe for greater disaster.

Power generation to the homeowner is a serious problem. Wind turbine is good and expensive. Solar is good in sunny areas, but not so much after sunset, and expensive. Battery plant is expense. To do a wind/solar/battery deal to keep you going could cost $50K. A basic 3KW wind turbine goes for like $15K (Example: your microwave uses 1.2KW). Solar is good for hot water, but you need to be able to pump water (if you have a well like I do, and that pump is 1.5KW) too, which is why a battery plant is important if there is no wind. Energy is wicked critical for all activities in life, like heat in the winter, and it gets cold in MANY states.

We’ve already established the MSM are idiots. What if NYC loses power? Or access to food for 10+ million in just NYC alone.

  • http://PalinsDirtyLittleSecret.blogspot.com/ ObamaNotPresidentClick4Proof

Democracy is being mocked. We have no president, no democracy, no freedom of press after unelected officials staged a coup and took over the media. The truth is being buried in Psy-ops comments and disinformation. The link in my name exposes what no one can report on, the truth.

It is a positive development, as it may open some eyes, but people should be prepared to take care of themselves and their families. Where does the $$ for such a program come from? From the taxpayers, who are taxed to the limit. More borrowing?  Don’t be lulled into complacency by a gov’t program.

  • Jim Burgess

    Amen to that!

Coincidentally, The Carbon Trap, is the first ecopolitical thriller to have the progressive government selling Alaska to pay for the CO2 trapping program mandated by the UN. The Alaskan government has to make its own contingencies. http://www.rainforestpress.com. The plot continues in book 2, The Carbon Cross, due out in June 2012 includes in it’s plot an Alaskan Contingency Plan. If Obama gets re-elected it likely more states will be looking at independence or contingency of national collapse. The Carbon Trap is available as eBook, Kindle, Nook, etc., and within a week in paperback through Amazon.

I really feel that America is going to be split,, I think that many States are going to drop out of the Union of the United States of America,, Not receiving anything from the Gov. nor asking anything from the Gov. is a good thing. Of course the welfare folks will ether have to ((GET A JOB)) or stay in Gov. friendly dead beat States. The Bible says that those who refuse to work should not eat,, sound harsh ?? Wyoming: No state income tax.
    Wyoming: Has balanced budget amendment.
Wyoming: Runs a surplus every year.
    Wyoming: Right to work state.
Wyoming: One of the lowest unemployment rates. (even the unemployeed could get jobs if they really wanted to, places like Walmart here are extremely understaffed.)
    Wyoming: Population is increasing.

hmmmmmm, seems Wyoming is doing something right, wouldn’t want to copy that.  I’m just glad that I live in Wyoming, give me the cold and wind if it means freedom.

  • Anonymous

I live in Wyoming and we love it here. The Bill Rep. David Miller from Riverton wrote is one of the best bills to come out of this yrs. budget session. The Wyoming people know that if we are not prepared ….game over. It’s always good to be ready for the worst and hope for the best. When you live here you always stay in that mode .. We keep that mode because we are spread out for miles and trips to town are used wisely. We know survival here and it’s tough sometimes.
We don’t have a lot of frills and we like it that way. We pull together if a tragedy strikes and we take care of one another. That’s what it’s all about. We don’t like Government intrusions and we want to be left alone. The mountains are breath taking and we are humbled that we can live in wide spaces with great neighbors I’m very proud of David Millers bill and God Bless him for the courage to bring it forth .The people who are mocking David just don’t get it …and yes we know our representatives on a first name basis even the D.C. officials. That’s rare as well.
We hope this country doesn’t come to any horrible fate . We can put our heads in the sand or be as ready as we can.The media is as worthless as a dry stream.

Yes, that’s also funny. Ha ha. But it’s not wisdom of emergency, but rather the marketing of emergency. You know, to make a buck out of ol’ wise you.

Thank you Wyoming for taking the leadership on this. I have sent an e-mail to each of the North Carolina House Homeland Security Committee members asking them to get moving on this. I spent over 40-years in federal state, and local fire/emergency services and I know we are not ready for this. We also need to look at an EMP.

Hmm, interesting that fiction is matching up with reality.  In the TV shoe “Jericho,” Cheyenne was the provisional capitol of the Allied States of America, the center of the conspiracy to overthrow the old government.  I can hope that another government featured in the show will rise up, the Independent Republic of Texas!

Altho…. Wyoming was the home in the novel “Molon Labe” where the US becomes tyrannical and financially corrupt, and Wyoming stands up to them.  That novel was the basis for the Free State Wyoming project, for like-minded conservative/Libertarian citizens to move there.  http://www.freestatewyoming.org/

    Greetings from the OKCorral:
I have two sisters and a nephew that live in Wyoming.  Cheyenne, Sheridan and Greybull.  In terms of the “mockingbird” that perches in Jackson, that is typical of any state that attracts liberal money to “Sierra Club” geography or as in the case of the great California exodus into western colorado, Delta, Aspen, etc., even Denver. Liberals love to storm the bastions of beauty with their social agenda’s because they believe as the self appointed meek, they get to inherit the best of the earth but on their terms and with their geographical choices.  Wyomings proposal threatens their little ivory towers that they have poached with fat pocketbooks and shakes the foundations of their little fifedoms because they might displease “Big Brother” and loose some of their leverage as the states dominate mouthpeice.  On the other hand, no one wants to live in Nebraska.  We don’t have any Provincetowns Cape Cod or Cool Carmel’s or Hampton’s.  The only culture we have here is buttermilk.  Go for it Wyoming.  Time for someone to stand up for its folks and tell the social degenerates to take their global agenda back to Europe.  The states must protect themselves if Rome is burning.

All States should be prepared, just in case those who initiate martial law tries to take your state. It’s like our Judges that are not ready to protect the Constitution when it pops up in their neighborhood, WE lose.

There’s a bit of irony here, that this is starting in Wyoming.  To those of you who have watched/followed the TV series Jericho, this makes you stop in your tracks.  Was the creator of this program on to something WAY back in 2006?  Just a little food for thought.

It is prudent for everyone to plan for a worst case scenario in everything you do. Most of us don’t take the time to look at all of the aspects (good and bad) of the consequences of our actions. I’m glad to see a government entity actually planning for future “worst case scenarios”.

There is no democracy. Our next election is shaping up to be as big of a sham as the last. Do you know why Sarah Palin’s bus tour was really canceled? Do you know why she stayed 30 miles away from the second debate and chose the death of Steve Jobs to announce that she’s not running? Know what leaked out? Your point is well taken though.  As the co-chair of the 500 member and growing Jackson Hole Tea Party ( larger than the local republican and democrat members put together) we are making it our peronal mission to change our county from blue to red!  It is the only county in all of WY that consistently votes blue in the presidential election!  And we are pushing this legislation in a big way!  How about a joint celebration this 4th of July with the Huntsmans! Or better yet you can come by and say hello at our 4th July event and piss-off all our Jackson Hole liberal friends!

How could anything be wrong with preparing for economic problems?  The cost of gas and diesel alone will raise prices of just about everything.  What’s wrong with eating tomorrow at today’s prices?  Everything is costing more.  I think these spoiled journalists whose parents sent them to college, then got a job in journalism have never really been in the cold, cruel world.  Maybe they should be fired and have to get a real job.  Maybe then they would appreciate preparing for at least inflation if not economic collapse.

My recommentation would be for Wyoming to have every Town,
Village, and City to immediately work on preparedness and get
the citizens of every community involved.  It would certainly be
a wonderful way to bring the community together.
For those of them in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, if they don’t
prepare they would be $%v $ out of luck.  Stupidity doesn’t
deserve any rewards.  However, the majority of good Ameri-
cans would extend a hand if the liberals would work to help.

WHAT is the problem with Wyoming???  Don’t
they know that the government of America will never fall, and Obama does
actually walk on water- when no one is watching? How ignorant can an entire
    state be?

OK, OK!  So, the King is naked as a jaybird. And
out of the 99%, only 1% can see? Unfortunately that is about right. Maybe even less
than 1% can see the truth about this government and the Marxist that are destroying it. I just hope that Wyoming can stand against the tidal wave that
Obama has planned for you. You might consider seceding and becoming part of
Canada or a sister state of Russia. Almost anything would be better than BHO’s
plan for America. Sit tall in the saddle Men. Keep your powder dry.

I agree. Being prepared is wise. Buying to Glenn Beck’s lunatic conspiracy theories and survival tactics is NOT wise. It’s the epitome of being a sucker. What are you prepared for if you go buy guns, gasoline and mountains of food? The end of the world. What are you prepared for if you educate yourself in the traditions of philosophy, science and arts? The continuing of the world. I’m betting for the second one. I do not buy for a second that all will fall just as Beck predicts it. Is America being torn apart by the devils will through all things lefty-progressive-democrat? or is it being naturally transformed to something neither of us by ourselves can predict and control? Are right wingers the chosen American people from God destined to restore the US to an ideologically monolithic theocracy? or are religious conservatives going through the motions of loosing more and more influence and power everyday? Wisdom today, more than ever, is negotiable. Reading the Bible does not give you the power of predicting the future. Yet, is sure makes you think your belief is better than everyone else’s. That surely isn’t wisdom.

I love art science and philosophy myself…it doesnt taste as good as venison though. So I think maybe the ammo and that has to stick around. Mountains of food many people outside cities do anyway its called gardening and canning…gas comes in handy for things like cutting firewood with a chainsaw when you live a fridgid climate and cutting and splittling cords of wood takes time…not to mention hauling it..gas is handy for those trucks..although you are welcome to use your electric saw on some brush to get you through and I would also recommend some great reading ..philosophy you call it..the book or wisdom..Soloman..its in the basic instructions before leaving Earth. Its not reading the bible that predicts the future its understanding the wisdom in it..or at least trying to that provides wisdom..there are more folks out there than you realize..hence the name silent majority.

Seems like the masses have historically ridiculed those who think it prudent to prepare for the worst.  Look at how they deride ‘preppers’, and anyone who has food storage …. reminds me of a story in the Old Testament where the masses ridiculed an old man and his family for building a boat, and stocking it with animals. ……  hmmm   Maybe, paying attention to the masses is counter-productive?

Don’t think everything is grand in Wyoming (saying that so everyone doesn’t move here).  We have coal, gas, and oil-but Obama wants green.  Alaska should introduce a bill to shut down Central Park-it should be a federal preserve for the wildlife.  Ha ha- we have deer, antelope and whatever else go through town-we don’t bother them and they don’t bother us.  The only major problem Wyoming has is the idiots that move here from the cities and think we should turn our state into where they came from!  Oh ya, the sage grouse too-we can get along with them just fine too!  It’s the tree huggers from out of state that are messing with Wyoming-get out and go away!  The melting pot in America-Wyoming (Gillette).  We have people working in the oil fields, methane fields, coal mines, ranchers, farmers, plus all the support people to keep them going-welders, fabricators, parts stores, equipment rentals, etc.  The list goes on and on.  But if you can’t take the cold stay where you are….

Nah, you guys don’t want to move here.  When we say we are going to Walmart the kids get excited and yell, “I’ll pack the cooler!”  From our house that’s a fifty mile one way drive.  If we want McDonald’s that’s 20 miles one way.  Folks here know most of their neighbors’ business and don’t mind sharing the information.  The deer are large and mostly suicidal, the preferred method being death by car.  If you get sick you’d better either live in or near (near being within 200 miles) Cheyenne or Casper.  If you are really sick, you can go to Denver or Billings.
In the summer the cactus are crying “Uncle!’  In the winter the mercury in the thermometer is shivering.   It’s really windy – you know you’re in Wyoming when you step out the door and get a mouthful of Idaho.  In the summer you can’t find a parking place at the grocery store because the visitors with 80 foot motor homes have to park across all the parking spaces.  The mountains are gorgeous but for the most part they have a way of making sure you don’t get arrogant driving up or down them.  Summer in Wyoming means the smell of rain in the sage, wildflowers, pine trees and burning brakes.  The Wyoming state bird is the mosquito.  Here we just call them “teeth with wings”.
Nah, just stay where you are – it’s much safer.  But just in case, we’ll leave the light on for ya.

The media mocks Wyoming but they do not mock the Federal government.  Anyone ever hear of Federal Continuity Directives 1, 2, and 3?  In FCD-2, the states were, in fact, encouraged to develop their own plans.  Everything was supposed to operate on the Incident Command models, with the Feds having greatest say-so.  The way I figure it, if the Federal government thinks it’s important to have a plan, it must also be important for every family to have a plan.

Wyoming is one of the states that has the right idea and I’ll bet you dollars to do-nuts that every state has “some” sort of a plan.  Most, however, are underfunded because they’re stuck with having to pay off their legacy costs from so many decades of public sector union costs.

Chicago’s plan is to not let a crisis go to waste.

Hmmmm, not let a crisis go ro waste, hmmmm, when a crisis happens, after the crisis you should prepare and prep so that if that crisis ever happens again, it isn’t a issue,  hmmmmm, one that we can use for our own purpose, about time to turn the tables on them a little bit.

I WILL be moving to Free State Wyoming. I know that Wyoming has some of the largest Thorium deposits in the US, and what makes more sense than having reliable, affordable energy and using that to sustain a ranch that sources food for lower prices, too? When the world falls around us, Wyoming will be one of the few places left to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

What isn’t wisdom is criticizing things you don’t understand and have no intention of understanding. Emergency preparedness is something people should always be geared up for. Education is always something people should pursue. To denigrate either is ignorant and obtuse.

On top of that, your hypocrisy is staggering. You would maintain that education in philosophy, science, and arts is important and yet you disparage Christianity. Do you advocate atheism as the alternative? What purpose does either philosophy or art serve an atheist?

And making yourself out to be an advocate of science, yet railing irrationally against being materially prepared for emergencies… You’re making yourself out to be an ass.

You suffer from self-imposed blindness. I pity you.

You call people names, you make false accusations, and basically go out of your way to start as many fights as you can on here with anyone who will bite the bait. I don’t think that is wise either. And when the occupiers get their way, and they’ve managed to collapse the economy, and there’s no food at the store for anyone to buy, and no gas for sale anywhere, what will you do? Hopefully some Bible reading, “idiot-Beckhead” will take pity on you and share some food and water with you, while you ponder on the foolishness of not having at least laid up a little for a rainy day. Otherwise you may have to eat your philosophy books.

I live in Laramie. This is a fascist state, where the Governor threatens the University of Wyoming in July 2000 for wanting to do research, “Without (his) proper state authority.” (just like Soviet-occupied Hungary, 1956). In 2006, when I lawfully opposed NRA-greased no-permit concealed gun bill, I was anonymously threatened on the telephone by the deputy director of the state police: http://www.LaserRadio.com/usaatty.pdf   Then, when I brought it to the attention of the Wyo. Wondering if people remember the story of the animal (forgot the animals in the story, but the point of the story is more important) who was preparing for winter by planting seeds…. Then being mocked for harvesting…. While the other animals did not prepare for winter and was being lazy….. The animal that was preparing was storing food from the harvest.. (and was still being mocked) Then winter came….. The one animal that was preparing was ready for winter and had food to live on… The other animals that mocked her were not prepared and were starving..

Moral of the story? BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING!!… Just as Glenn Beck was talking about on his show on fox news… The one animal that was preparing was warning about the coming winter and was mocked as the press is mocking the Wyoming Representative……

    Assassination Micro-Bots
    Mass–Produced at Harvard

Devised by engineers at Harvard, an ingenious method for
rapid fabrication of micro-bots heralds in a brave new day in mass produced
    micro assassins.

In prototypes, 18 layers of carbon fiber, Kapton (a plastic
film), titanium, brass, ceramic, and adhesive sheets have been laminated
together in a complex, laser-cut design. The structure incorporates flexible
    hinges that allow the three-dimensional product—just 2.4 millimeters tall—to
assemble in one movement, like a pop-up book.

The entire product is approximately the size of a U.S. quarter, and dozens of
these microrobots could be fabricated in parallel on a single sheet. _Physorg

Sreetharan, Whitney, and their colleagues in the Harvard
Microrobotics Laboratory at SEAS have been working for years to build
bio-inspired, bee-sized robots that can fly and behave autonomously as a
colony. Appropriate materials, hardware, control systems, and fabrication
techniques did not exist prior to the RoboBees project, so each must be
invented, developed, and integrated by a diverse team of researchers. _Physorg

Thanks to the new mass-production techniques devised by
Harvard engineers, millions of micro-assassin bots can be produced in one
production run. Programming the bot for its specific mission requires only a
few minutes, and can be performed over a wireless network, using appropriate
    security protocols.

Harvard engineers say that they will soon be able to reduce
the size of the killer bots to the point that they are no longer visible via
the naked eye. Of course, invisibility of a sort is already achievable using
other stealth tools recently devised across town at MIT.

MIT and Harvard have reportedly allied themselves in a microbot assassin war
against Yale and Stanford. But before risking it all in total micro-war, the
engineers are rumoured to be testing their killer bots via covert operations in
    Iran and North Korea.

According to one of the lead engineers on the
project, the bots are almost indistinguishable from an insect or arthropod.
Some of the bots have been designed to mimic small minnows and worms.

There is some speculation that the minnow bots and worm bots are meant to work
their way up through the fish food chain until they have taken over the brains
of sharks and barracuda. These borg-controlled fast swimming fish can then be
used to carry high explosives into enemy naval installations, for either
    coordinated or stand-alone attacks.

It is clear that the intrepid engineers of Harvard have taken the concept of
stealth assassins to an entirely new level. It will be interesting to watch and
    see how this concept
    develops.

You assume so many things. You guys so far on a limb believing in one of so many possibilities for the future that is hard not to mock you. I’m sorry. But if you think that if occupiers “got their way” all the way, which is virtually impossible, the economy would collapse, you are making so many assumptions based on so many real variables and thus, so many possible future outcomes that to go ahead and reduce them to the one that makes sense to Beck’s gut is the most easy attitude to make fun of. I’m sorry, it’s just too easy and too much fun. I get called names, people make false accusations at me, and I get picked on as much as I pick people on. So again, sorry, but your comment is just not doing what you thought it would do.

    Hi Dave,

You have a point statically; however, the only way the States can win is with guerrilla warfare. I am afraid the citizens are not coordinated enough to stage an effective defense. When the government does not hesitate to fire, citizens will be overwhelmed immediately. Firing now included guided missiles from miles away, and automatic weapons and overwhelming numbers.
I truly fear for Americans – total panic and chaos is the only description I can see.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-V-Burnette/100000787777430 James V Burnette

When you are called by God to stand up and take an accounting of what is going on in the world, and you know exactly what I’m talking about Glenn, you find yourself feeling responsible for everything and you find yourself feeling “guilty” for being a part of all the problems.  If you take the time to find out the details and history of where we are and why we are in this mess you feel that you are carrying the burden of the world’s problems on your own shoulders.  The frustrating part is you see all these problems and for those of us that have been given the creative talents to visualize solutions to many of these problems we find ourselves even more frusted because we can’t find a way to get those solutions before those that could actually put them into action.  Glenn has found a way and is doing everything he can to get the word out on how to address the issues we face in this country and around the world.  While we should “isolate” ourselves in this country and solve our own problems according to the God’s laws, the laws of Nature and our Constitution we have to realize that we are only 300 million people in a world of 7 billion people.  We must also realize that we cannot be the military power over the rest of the world and we cannot force our way of life and our beliefs on the rest of the world.  We can only be a “beacon” of light in the darkness and our light is there for those that chose to follow.  (If you want to win the world you will not do so by meddling with it.  Those that meddle with it lose it).  A philosophy developed some six thousand years BC.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-V-Burnette/100000787777430 James V Burnette

I wrote an earlier comment about those of us that have the ability to visualize the world’s problems.  Glenn has been calling for us to “prepare” for what is coming.  I to have visions of what may be coming and every time I hear someone talk about the “end of the world” I step back and try to take another camera shot of the visions I have.  One vision keeps coming up every time I question what might cause the next catastrophe and that is the situation in Yellowstone National Park.  Scientist have followed and predicted what might happen if the “huge” vlocanic mass that is under that park ever erupted.  They have studied and tried to determine when these eruptions have occured in the past and here is their best determination.  The major eruptions have occured about every 600 thousand to 650 thousand years.  It has been 640 thousand years sense the last one occured.  I do not blame the people of Wyoming for trying to prepare for the worst.  The problem they face is if this one plows there is almost nothing they can do save their lives and that goes for everyone else on the North American continent.

Every state should follow the proposed bill Wyoming is recommending.   Better to be prepared for worst case scenario than none at all.  It’s like the Gulf states not having a hurricane plan in place to allow for the worst possible case…did we not learn from Louisiana and Hurricane Katrina?

Given what’s happening in Greece and other European countries (running out of money OR no money at all), our country had better learn something from that.  The states need to show the Federal government that we are self-sufficient and don’t need their help.  So, coming up with a contingent plan is an excellent idea!

Maybe the reason for meeting of obama with Prime Minister of Israel Mr. Netanyahu is for March 6 Super Tuesday is so obama the con-artist won’t be caught in one of his lies that he’s all for Israel and got their back which just con-artist BS talk to get Jewish vote!  He plan it so there won’t be a spotlight on him turning his back on a trusted ally of Israel and snubbing Mr. Netanyahu who just want save his citizens from a dire  nuclear threat!!!  Plus it’s of U.S interest too,This nutcase mad dog country of Iran made threats against U.S too to kill the great satan and all infidel’s Catholic,Protestant,Jews!!! Sponor train terrorists around the world and train, give IED to kill our troop .I do not buy the BS of Demo-rats and obama we fighting two wars already Iraq we are down 300 troops gurarding Embasy and in AFG our forces are greatly reduce !  No one wants a another war ,but better than terrorists coming across southern border with a dirty bombs or nuclear bombs to be set off in our cities with no return address, even one bomb could cause total economic collaspe!!!  Second BS argruements that Iran don’t have missile that can reach us! Maybe ICBM in 2 to 4 years and obama cancel our anti-missile defense????? But Iran does have missile that can reach U.S ,Iran establishing a stronger alliance with fruitcake nations of Venezuela & Cuba ,Iran missile station Venezuela can hit the southern third of U.S! Plus we have nuclear tip missiles in Cuba again after JFK said to Russia you remove them or we go pull them out by hand and Iran missile in Cuba can any spot in mainland U.S or off disguise ship off our coast !!!!! (Maybe a just one EMP bomb) ???Let face the facts Iran,Russia got this weak knee President obama  completely buffalo or he in cohoots with them to bring the western free world down ?????? Remember his campaige statement  he would side with the Muslim world over the Western free World !!!!!!

The U.S should of defang Iran nuclear threat a couple years ago ,when had air bases in Iraq and AFG on both side of Iran plus aircraft carriers in nearby seas!!! Maybe the best way for Israel Prime Minister to get word out to U.S citizens of the dire threat on Iran having nuclear weapons to the U.S ,Israel and the world !! Is for Mr. Netanyahu do a pre-emptive news blitz before obama ambush meeting with a Jewish group on March 5 with his phoney talk , and  not cover the snubbing of Israel and prime minister on March 6  Super Tuesday! Is to have interviews with the three leading Republican candidates Mitt,Newt,Rick on true picture of terrorists and Muslim quest for world control, and how they support Israel, work with Israel ,and state their view point and policy in the Middle East!! Interview to be shown on Foxnews and GB-TV on March 4, so obama have some tough questions when he meets the Jewish group and won’t get away with his BS talks!! Then follow up after obama speak to Jewish group Mr. Netanyahu speak to the Jewish group!  After Mr. Netanyahu meeting March 6 with our  so call back stabbing  President to a trusted ally ,Mr. Netanyahu hit the air ways GB-TV ,Foxnews ,Talk Radio

All you online thumpers can go find something else to thump yourselves about.
Wyoming, a state where 45% of the kids in poverty have no parent with a full-time, year-round job, with the largest disparity between male and female wages, where elitism and corporate fascism is entrenched in city, county and state, where my father’s foundation gives more to Laramie, seven of nine years, than 30,000 others give the local United Way. I don’t know anybody who’s ever moved away from Wyoming and really missed it.

  • Anonymous

You don’t even know what was in the House bill or anything about “Wyoming.”

  • Anonymous

Great. I’ll bet you visit your grandchildren in another state because your kids can’t find a good job here (or they’re mechanics and have “settled” for dirt streets

  • Anonymous

The idiotic House bill has failed and has been withdrawn. It’s not even going to the Senate.
Morons playing games in Cheyenne, instead of funding the University “that doesn’t teach Wyoming values.” fascist playpen state, where most of the cattle are now raised on millionaire “hobby ranches”, where the Governor destroyed $80,000 worth of corn, on his ranch near Hawk Springs…so the kernels would attract geese (illegally) so he and his rich, corporate, fascist buddies could hunt geese with a baited field. Wyoming, where in Lincoln county, a man was recently convicted of animal cruelty (4 counts) because he had 98 starving horses, three dead.
THOSE are the “Wyoming values” the cheering section and Beck think they love?
To hell with you! I remember a Wyoming where there was a DUTY TO HELP provision in the good Samaritan law and people WERE convicted of manslaughter for not helping strangers!

I am a proud Wyominite and can’t wait for the Fed Gov to fail so Wyoming can put borders up and kick Greenies (Colorado) out (along with California) and sit back and laugh at the rest of the U.S. Wyoming also has:
Coal mines, Oil fields (estimated to be bigger then Iran’s) but harder to dig to due to the large volume of Granite, large population of folks that know and are proficienct with weapons. A bord young age group that knows also how to hack, nothing to do so why not hack the gov. and yes I do know a few…moving on… I hate the fact, not dislike, hate that people are moving to Wyoming, this state is suppose to be peaceful, you can’t even fish without running into another out of state car! ok now I’m just rambling…

Freezing Cold, Isolated, but worst of all, IT SITS ON TOP OF THE LARGEST SUPER VOLCANO THAT IS DUE TO BLOW!

Examples that yes Wyominites are tougher then your average cookie: (feel free to add to list)     Jacklope Jump; A person dives into a tub of freezing cold water during 30 degree winter weather in just their underwear (or shirt too) to raise money for Special Olympics.
Schools DO NOT shut down unless there is 3 foot of snow on ground or better, not exaggerating.
It is not uncommon to see kids goto school with bitter cold mornings/days in shorts, I still see once in a while a few and I still shake my head.
Wyoming’s biggest drug “problem” is NOT Meth (I have never seen/heard of one yet here in Casper or Cheyenne) it is Pot…ohhh scary, hungry peeps..ohhh lol.
Shooting is a class in High School, no joke, I still have my 2nd place metal in state :D.
Can’t think of anymore, but overall Wyoming Peeps are the best I have ever met! Best State EVER!

I doubt it, only a complete idiot would make such assumptions. Oh look, there you are.

Hey, it’s sticky chin. You sound angry, did you not get your daily dose from Obamao’s blue-veined yogurt dispenser?

  • Anonymous

Actually, this does not sound like a bad idea, as the Federal Reserve keeps printing worthless paper.

  • Anonymous

You are a complete moron. That last sentence is beyond dumb. Is there a law there that would convict you of unbelievable stupidity? It appears not, too bad.

  • Anonymous

Stick to the subject, what’s your contingency? There may very well be two factions of armed forces in this country in a kind of civil war maybe 5 to 10 years from now.  Any friendly relations between those of Tea Party values and those of the Occupy Wall Street values (which are as of yet wholly undefined) are ripping at the seams.  I believe such a conflict would displace many Americans in a short amount of time. Having a backup currency would be a very good idea because if Washington DC didn’t represent your land at any certain time then dollar bills are essentially pieces of paper.  The currency COULD BE THE ONLY WAY TO FEED YOUR FAMILY IN TIME OF NEED!
In 2010 Wyoming was 6th in the nation in per capita income. So yes, it’s a bunch of millionaires. But just because there are isolated incidences of animal cruelty, does that represent everybody in the state?  Isn’t there a lot of subsistent agriculture in your home state?  A lot of people depend on their animals for their livelihood and can’t afford to be cruel to them.  Actually that’s true just about everywhere in the world.  Don’t detest your own land and your own state government, especially since they just conveyed how much they care about you by proposing this bill in the first place.

Hey there! jwilco, haven’t seen you around for several months.

Little boy Greywolf calling names again. “The last sentence” was a fact, silly boy. Out on the highway, people would write down license plate numbers of people who didn’t stop. of course, you’re just a fat loser, munching chips and JO online. You can’t imagine US 30 at Medicine Bow in 1958 in a January blizzard. Now why don’t you print out this hand-typed thank you letter from Cheney and wipe yourself with it like a good boy

Thank you Glen,  I agree this was a great bill.  Unfortunately 30 representatives thought otherwise.  The bill failed.

I have a job, I barely get to watch any TV.  I’ve never heard of the military channel. Probably because it doesn’t exist.  Say something intelligent, if in fact you are capable of such a thing.

Shows how ignorant you are, Berty boy! MC is owned by Discovery. I have produced for TDC and Aviation Week.
There, that’s more intelligence than you can handle.
Why don’t you JO with photos of my cars, loser.

And don’t forget that here it’s still okay for a teacher to give a little one a hug if he/she needs or deserves it, and a butt chewing if that’s what the student needs at the moment!  Nobody sues them for being warm, compassionate human beings first and teachers second!

  • Diane Badget

Just for the record, the same roads that led in lead out!  Forgive me, but your post kind of makes it sound like you wouldn’t even be happy living in Utopia.  Is there anything about this wonderful state you DO like?  I’m surrounded here by ranch after ranch of good hard working folks who AREN’T millionaires.  My husband’s family started a ranch where the land was nothing but 1000 acres of sagebrush and cactus, and raised 9 amazing kids on that land, all without the help of a millionaire sponsor in this “fascist playpen state”.  Working around the clock in 40 below temperatures might be someone’s idea of a ‘hobby farm’, but it sure isn’t ours!

i got your life story, wasn’t interested in reading it, but wanted to see what (other) morons were on here, being cheerleaders for dumb ass wyoming. it’s fun to see it just got worse and worse. keep telling them about your acres and whatever else was in your silly rant. ta ta i know, wipe yourself with this hand-typed thank you letter from the biggest betrayer of Wyoming ever:  http://www.LaserRadio.com/vpnote.pdf
maybe you know dick and lynne. say hi

  • Diane Badget

You know, I read through some of your earlier posts as well.  All I can say is that I’d rather speak with people who have something interesting, fun, or intelligent to say. Debate is fun, enlightening and educating.  Rants with no substance are a waste of words.  So this will be my last response of any kind to you.  I’d be wasting my time trying to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.  Again, if this is such a bad place to live, we’ll cordially show you the map so you can find the way out.

  • Diane Badget

Despite the vote, I don’t think the proposal actually failed, Travis.  It got a lot of us thinking and talking more about how to protect ourselves and our families than we may have before and to me that’s some success.  At any rate, hope hasn’t died either.  It’s just that the responsibility for preparedness has just landed right where it always should have remained – in the hands of “we, the people”.  We shouldn’t need any legislation to do what’s right, and what’s right is seeing to it that we can take care of ourselves.  A dependent populous is essential if a government is going to rule the masses, and I just don’t think that’s what America is all about.

That’s so cool! You have the letter from Cheney. Here’s mine to him

Excuse me? 1st our state bird is the meadow lark. The mosquito comment was just stupid. “teeth with wings? I’ve never heard anyone in Wyoming call them that. 2nd. where the hell do you live? 20 miles to get anywhere? We don’t live in the 1800′s.

  • Anonymous

    As if you do.

  • Diane Badget

Gee, I’m sorry you had a little trouble with the concept of “tongue in cheek” with the mosquito remark.  We’ve had a couple of cases of West Nile here and there are a lot of us who do indeed call them ‘teeth with wings’. I do happen to live in Wyoming about 6 miles south of the Montana border and about an hour and half from Yellowstone Park.  1880′s or 2012,the distances are the same, and I DO indeed have to travel 20 miles one way for a McDonalds – into another county, in fact.  Here in the Big Horn Basin things are mighty far and few between, and if you’d care to check further there are only 2 stoplights in our entire county – Big Horn County.
One thing I thought all of us here in Wyoming had was a sense of humor.  Guess I was wrong.

  • Diane Badget

I agree, I wish they would have a little more backbone in the State House as well.  But you know, I haven’t given up hope yet.  See, the one thing I do, and do very well, is keep in contact with the elected officials – local, county, state and federal. I’m sure they get sick of hearing from me, but maybe if we all did more of that instead of venting on other forums they’d get the message.  Kinda hard to hire them to do a job and then not supervise.  They don’t know what we want them to do unless we tell them, often!  I believe so strongly in the “quit complaining and put your money where your mouth is concept” that I ran for and was elected to our town council.  Small potatoes to some I’m sure,  but it’s a start.  And I listen to our people and act accordingly.
