UPDATED: Priest issues strong invocation against socialism

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

This morning on radio Glenn played audio of a Catholic priest issuing an incredible statement against socialism. While Fr. Andrew gave a traditional prayer to open his remarks at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention, he quickly changed his message to one with much more political and social undertones.

“This is an issue between democracy and socialism. Now when we talk about socialism that sounds politically incorrect but as a Catholic I earned a free pass to talk about socialism because others who had stood with us have died died at the hands of the socialists for the past two centuries.”

“And we know a little something about religious persecution and I’d like to share a few reflection. The first is whenever we have a religious liberties stopped it is a hallmark of socialism and will not be compatible with Christianity for two reason. Personal choice, and private property. Personal choice has to do with the personal conscious because you’re responsible and accountable for all the things that God has given to us. That allows us to private property so we can than generous and return it to Lord and savior. Government, socialists, socialists want to take that responsibility away from us.”

“That goes against our religion. We see — we believe conscience and private property are not human ideas. They come from God. Not from humans.”

“Socialists do not accept biblical truth. They do not understand natural law. You see we believe these are from our creator endowing with the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sounds familiar? It should because they are framed in our constitution. Therefore we know that socialism will never be compatible with our democracy the way we have it. As we face this third century of this threat I as a Catholic invite everyone of conscious to join us in this fight to join in fight against our religious liberty.”

You can catch all the remarks in the full video below:

The segment starts around the 2 minute mark.

Glenn urged listeners to pass this along to their priests and ministers. He also said this kind of courage would be on display at Indivisible in Dallas, TX on Friday July 27th (you can get your tickets to that event HERE.)

Where did this priest come from? I wish he would have been around when I was going to church as a child! He’s wonderful! I love this man!

Agree with the fundamentals!  Life! Liberty! and the Pursuit of Happiness does not guarantee happiness.  All three ideals are under a full assault in America today.  Be strong, be faithful and have faith, we must repel the threat and take back the ground we have surrender thus far.

I agree with the Cathloic Priest….and I pray that ALL Pastor’s, Christians, all brother’s and sister’s in Christ will FINALLY  take a stand now….before it’s too late….and ALL AMERICAN’S WHO LOVE AMERICA AND FREEDOM…..  Stand together, stand up, stand strong… and Pray and keep God leading America….the way our founding father’s did… FREEDOM….FOREVER IN AMERICA…..

Today the choice is very simple: freedom or eternal serfdom, a Republic restored or the collapse into the nightmare of dictatorial communism. Choose today America.

    • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (cat folk gallery)

A church, like anywhere else IS the place to talk about these issues of Socialism; the priests need to call the warning to their congregations, and to the world at large, as the socialist gathering of Obama and the progressives control just about everythng else in the world.

We are in the end game, the final 2 minute warning has blown, and now the time is for us to press forward and grab the victory with due force and hold on tight; hold on with faith and keep pushing until all is done.

Only if we choose to give up and do nothing will the nation be finished; and if we choose to let freedom die, the tyranny to come is what those who do nothing have chosen to make reality.

For me and my house we serve the Lord and freedom; I will never willingly bow down to any man.

Exactly snowleopard! My welcome mat at my front door has that same “me and my house…” quote on it from the book of Joshua. Also, that’s why I just ordered the t-shirt “I Will Not Comply” from Glenn!!!

I wish Glenn had plus sized women’s shirts…with I will not comply…that shirt reminds me of the communist slogans that were around when I was a kid…just stating the opposit…I would love to have one my size with a jeweled neck…I don’t want to cut the shirt…neck is too close for me…but message is wonderful…God Bless our beloved America … all her warts are a million times better than the alternative…socialism &/or communisum…
          listen to the word…

Well said! Any more progressive equates to socialism, and they my friend, are a threat to our freedoms.

        • http://twitter.com/paoligarcy Paolina Garcia

Aren’t we a bit in denial here? The North is overwhelmingly losing their faith in God and increasing their faith in government, while we in the South are doing the opposite. We are no longer compatible, and BOTH the right and the left are MISERABLE with the situation in DC.

We can either hold onto some blind patriotism that will lead us to civil war and trying to force our ideologies on each other…. OR we can declare independence and form separate nations.

Let California, New York, and Illinois have their atheist socialist utopia, and let us in Texas and the South be free to form a christian, capitalist nation.

Anything else is OPPRESSION. Even if we have a miracle and take back the government, we’d have to FORCE the Yankees against their choice to be capitalist. They simply will kick and scream the entire way and undermine us.

And as long as we have a Supreme Court which rules that pornography and decadence is “free speech” (the founders wrote obscenity laws BANNING just such things), then we have no hope of taking back our culture. Over half of the men in church are addicted to pornography, and when men are compromised spiritually they won’t take a stand!

Free speech was only meant as “free political speech”, not the right to insult people in public or flood our televisions with pornography. It was the right to dissent with government, not the right to reject morality.

I agree, I will not change.  I am American and a Catholic.  I do not condone all that is going on.  I say, let the libs take the debt too.  They think they know how to solve everything.  Only God can solve everything, and it won’t be in this world.

          • http://twitter.com/paoligarcy Paolina Garcia

But that doesn’t mean we should throw up our hands and do nothing.

We can DO SOMETHING now: declare independence peacefully! We can negotiate with the liberals to let them have their own atheist socialist utopia and we’ll form a christian, capitalist nation.

It’s a win-win. And if we both dissolve the federal government and form new ones, that means the $15 trillion debt DISAPPEARS (under international law if we both do not claim to be a successor state). So it’s a $15 trillion bonus for doing something we’re already bound to do anyways.

          • Anonymous

Declare independence peacefully from what? Negotiate for what reason? The only thing to do is vote those who don’t support the Bill of Rights and U.S. Constitution out of office. Or impeach them for malfeasance.

sunshineIQ: You’re forgetting you share the Congress with California, New York, and Illinois.

Even if we do get some “miracle” conservative government, we won’t be able to get rid of the tax code and reverse all the regulations most likely.

And even if we do, it’s just a 4 or 8 years of Romney until the demographics shift so much that even Texas becomes a democrat state.

In a decade, it’s very possible for even Texas to become a democrat state. Think about that. Unless we are able to pass our own immigration laws, Texas and Arizona WILL become democrat states in a decade.

The ONLY way to stop that is to declare independence. The Supreme Court already ruled Arizona can’t defend itself from the Mexican invasion (some hispanics don’t like socialist illegals believe it or not because we waited in line to live in a CAPITALIST country).

          • ru4freedom

Be sure to remember that God expects us to use our God given brains, so I imagine He does leave things to freedom of choice, and we are all to held accountable. Giving in or up, is not an option! I don’t care what your religious affilation is. Every Church is run by “man”, being charitable is not the same as enabling weakness and the lack of self sufficiency. Many have erred in that regard. Others use that as a way of controlling others and when they have to be told what to think, then everything goes to He ck.

          • http://twitter.com/paoligarcy Paolina Garcia

You never heard of generation Y or Z, have you?

Of course I have. The silent majority is in the South and Midwest. But the Yankees and Californians do not want the same policies as we do. We’re either bound to be oppressed by them or else force them into a political system they don’t want.

If you look at the elections of the past 40 years, the South and New England have almost always voted the opposite ways. We’re just taking turns oppressing each other.

I live in the Boston area and I am with a strong Bible Believing Church. Interestingly enough much of North American evangelical Christianity started in the Boston area and spread to other parts of the country. Churches in the area played an important role in the Abolitionist Movement before the civil war. Think Jonathan Edwards, D.L. Moody, George Whitfield. Now the opposite is true my area has to have a new Great Awakening.

By 2040, the white race will be a minority and minorities today who vote 90+% liberal/democrat will be the majority.  Second grade common sense tells you what that means for our children…and our country

I disagree with the notion that California is only full of socialists and atheists. There are many good, anti-progressive people who live there yet are silenced by the overall socialist culture and politics. Having secession would condemn those people to a state of harder taxation and regulation. Let us reform, rather than recede from the problem.

          • http://www.facebook.com/bea.biederman Bea Biederman

Some thoughts are off the wall.  But CA is a good example of what happens when the government is run by socialistic liberal ideals. It’s going down even with the good anti progressives. CA will probably have to reach desperation to round up the conservative troops.  Those who are silenced can make an effort to become more courageous and more proactive, by wisely vocalizing truths– sharing in small groups despite the opposition– especially in church groups.

This is what I’ve been waiting to hear since 2003 when the “socialist” took the Episcopal church away from my family. You see what they just did 2 weeks ago. The Christain side did NOT stand up and say not in my house.

        • http://www.facebook.com/mary.t.delbuono Mary Theresa Del Buono

We Catholics are having a problem too…some in our parishes do not believe we should speak out against socialist ideas…our church is having a problem with people disrupting mass/homilies…it makes me want to cry…why can’t they see what is happening???  may Jesus, Mary, and Joseph help us…we need Jesus more than ever…and our Mother Mary to help us too…and St. Joseph the guardian of the family…we are His family…our nation needs prayers…and all our churches are being slammed by progressive …aka politically correct…separation from church trash…I say do not trash our Consitiution…trash the hate for good folks who want to work and love our nation…wish I  could go to Restoring Love…
so sorry I got so long again…but my heart pains me…

          • Anonymous

May God bless you.  I cannot imagine the heartbreak of having your church services disrupted!  And the news agencies have not said one thing about it!

          • http://www.facebook.com/bea.biederman Bea Biederman

If your Pastor does not get that disruption under control, go up the chain and report it to the Bishop. No one is to disrupt the Mass in any way.  They are to be ‘dismissed.’  That is what the Ushers and Parish Council are there for.  Where are the “men” who are suppose to be helping and defending your Pastor??? Call your local Knights of Columbus Chapter and tell them of this urgency.  That’s what their duty is! They still stand for chivalry and protection.  YOU are the key.  YOU have to make the calls and do the work it takes to get the right people to straighten this out.  It’s good to pray, but there’s a difference between whining and taking action for your church.  WE are going to need a strong backbone as time goes on– especially if that HHS Mandate causes unrest!!! Mary– Passivity won’t cut it.  Take action!

          Dear TurnTable 1964,
Being a Christian means to me that I will always stand up for Jesus.  I know that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, knows what President Obama is trying to do.  With all of the money going anywhere and everywhere in the world except US, that is what OBAMA is trying to do.  He is trying to make our people enemies of one another.  He is trying to make us forget about Jesus and he is making a mockery of Religion and every person who does good work, he is going after.  I am not speaking of the richest people, because they are immune from the horrible burdens that he is trying to put upon this nation.  Making people look for second and third jobs just to have a little food on the table or gas in the car…making the mother have to go out of her home to try and help her husband to make a few dollars to help pay for a second car (and then there is the gasoline that she is using to go from the job to the babysitter, to the store to buy a few groceries to tide the family over until payday and then it starts all over again!  Life is becoming a tangled mess.  No wonder there are so many suicides and murders going on in this country.  We need a person like Gingrich to get into the Presidential or at least the vice presidential position to steer the Senate in the Right Direction.

I agree and disagree with this, I agree that anywhere  (across the fence, in a bar or across pew) is a place to discuss politics, thats is our right and should alway be exercised.  The more people that talk about it and get involved whatever there political affiliations the better this country will be, open dialogue is key.

Here is where I disagree.  I really don’t like it when any religion especially preachers/preists/vicars/rabbis/shamen/Imam or yogis (i know I forgot some) gets involved or preaches about anything political. why? its not just because i’m not very religious.  I have no problem with people worthshipping whom or whatever god they choose.  Its America, it our right.  I do find though, not all the time, but a lot of the time hypocrisy in scripture in regards to these matter, and that bothers me.

Religion differs so widely on many topics and because there is no one American religion I don’t think it should be called on in determining our countries politics.  Now I’m not nieve enough to think that peoples personal religious beliefs guide them in their choices, whether they’re a fireman a nurse, a nurse, a banker, or a politician of course it happens.

Separation of church and state is an important fact of our American story that should be held and fought for.  You don’t want either the soil the other.

I’ve taken criticism from a number of folks on this site for openly disagreeing with things that Mr Beck posts.  However,  I truly believe in the America of freedom, in all aspects of our lives.  I do strongly believe that we as Americans and as humans have a responsibility to our fellow humans, and whether that is through Government, Charity, private endeavors or all three, its important that we protect the people that help build this country and the people that will be our future.

My concern is that through all of this hostile political discourse which comes from all side that we have forgotten whats important and that is that we need fix what is broken, fix what made it break in the first place and heal those that are hurting right now.

This politicians all talk the talk very few walk the walk and even fewer walk in the shoes of your average hard working American who is struggling keep a roof over his families head and food on the table.

        • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (cat folk gallery)

You make a excellent argument here in your post; in my case, as a chaplain in my own right, I will agree that the seperation of church and state, the right to worhship with any group you chose (or to not engage in religion if you wish) is an emphatic freedom we enjoy.

It does need to be maintained.

Here in the case of encroaching socialism, like with any form of ongoing corruption, the leaders of their flocks should first NOT impose their own political views on their congregations. Nor should they tell them who to vote for or not vote for, that has to be the choice of the individual.

Giving warning of the corruption encroaching on the land, presented from the pulpit or however their faith dictates it be delivered, in accord with their beliefs, is not wrong, and I should have made clear (my fault) the church should be used to warn of such encroachment in the terms of ethical, moral and spiritual matters.

One place where I have to make a stand on though, is in the case of where the government leaders are actively targeting one particular faith or denomination, in this case Catholisism (mind you I am not catholic), if all of us who are members of a faith do not stand togeather to oppose the governments will imposed on one religion, then all others are left open to the non-mercy of the government.

This has to be done to preserve the freedom of practice of religion as the individual sees fit; for if the government can execute its will upon one person, one faith, one congregation that has not broken any laws that are prosecuted in the courts and guilt established thus, all people are endangered.

Consider this, if a person who choses not to worship or follow any faith, as they are allowed to do under the Constitutional guarantees; and the Federal govt, or even a state government, suddenly mandates that all people have to belong ‘to this church/faith/etc’ this then becomes as much a threat to the liberties and rights of the individual as to those who do practice religion.

I have no problems with people who love the nation and want to have her restored; to end the devastation of the Constitution and end the madness growing.

I may not always agree with someones beliefs or ideals, yet so long as they are polite, I can respect their views.

For it is in the meeting on the field of ideas and ideals that out of many views, we in the nation can become stronger and greater than ever before. For freedom guaranteed for one, must be guaranteed in equality for all, and the current administration is actively making that more and more difficult.

Again thank you for the post.

        • Anonymous

There is no such thing as “separation of church and state”! The constitution just says that the government shall not establish a religion. I wish every citizen understood this, but the masses have been brainwashed to believe that separation of church and state is a fact, when it is a lie.

    • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (cat folk gallery)

The media is supposedly the watchdog of the nation; calling the warning loud and clear of the dangers to come that threaten the liberties of the Republic as a whole.

       – “The Press” Institutions of American Democracy.

The pulpit and word of mouth are the only things we have left to get the warning out to others while we still can; even the media has betrayed us in their support for the takeover of Obama and the communists.

Those who wrote the above just a handcount of years back never figured they would be betrayed by their own; and how heavily the press who willingly follow Obama will pay the price when we free the nation, and demand they pay.

I would say that EVERYPLACE is acceptable to speak about ANYTHING, as guaranteed by NATURE’S GOD and ensured in the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

Once we get started on this assinine notion that only certain places are certified for certain speech, we might as well hand everything over to Big Brother Obama and friends.

      God Bless the Republic!

In the Catholic Church, the sanctuary is reserved for the Mass and sacred rituals.  The pulpit is reserved for the Readings, the Gospel, and the Homily unless there is special permission from the Archdiocese or USCCB for anything else (currently there is approval to speak of the HHS Law and Religious Freedom issues).  The Catholic Church follows the rubrics. (General Instruction of the Roman Missal > GIRM)  Our sanctuary is considered sacred space with a specific purpose.  Occasionally the church can be used for instruction or talks apart from the Mass; and sometimes the Blessed Sacrament (Christ) is removed from the Tabernacle (His housing) for this purpose.  (We believe in the TRUE PRESENCE of Christ in the ‘consecrated host’ > that disc of unleavened bread; we do not believe it is a symbol.)

Christians brought reading and writing to America, so by obama’s logic, we owe everything to the Christians.  It gets down to obama and his ilk wanting to replace God(Father Son and Holy Spirit) with govt.  Of course  he views himself an Emporer as evidenced by his Greek stunt and issuing executive orders(edicts), and thereby places himself as a little god.
Emporer worship in the temple is the obamanation that causes desolation.

Every person in America has the right to his or her opinion.
This “man” is giving his individual take on society.
This does not mean he speaks for the entire church.
    On the contrary.
The Catholic Church supports Social Justice and Equality.
These are two philosophies that glenn beck despises because he doesn’t care about people in need.
This is also why he chooses to leave out the opinions of thousands of other church leaders and only quotes this one man.
Simple, one sided, and ignorant propaganda.

Socialism destroys people in need. Capitalism succors people in need. Your ideology produces human misery and suffering, mine eliminates it. You are the one who doesn’t care about people. I am the one filled with compassion because I am a capitalist. You gauge your success by the number of people who get help. I gauge success by the number of people who no longer need help. Mine is the superior moral system.

Fr. Andrew speaks nothing new.  People who do speak for the the Catholic Church and with utmost authority have already spoken against socialism (or whatever form it may take or be called) for more than 160 years:

Pius IX: “You are aware indeed, that the goal of this most iniquitous plot is to drive people to overthrow the entire order of human affairs and to draw them over to the wicked theories of this Socialism and Communism, by confusing them with perverted teachings.”

December 8, 1949 Encyclical Nostis et Nobiscum, December 8, 1849

St. Pius X: “But stranger still, alarming and saddening at the same time, are the
audacity and frivolity of men who call themselves Catholics and dream of re-shaping society under such conditions, and of establishing on earth, over and beyond the pale of the Catholic Church, ‘the reign of love and justice’ … What are they going to produce? … A mere verbal and chimerical construction in which we shall see, glowing in a jumble, and in seductive confusion, the words Liberty, Justice, Fraternity, Love, Equality, and human exultation, all resting upon an ill-understood human dignity. It will be a tumultuous agitation, sterile for the end proposed, but which will benefit the less Utopian exploiters of the people. Yes, we can truly say that the Sillon, its eyes fixed on a chimera, brings Socialism in its train.”

August 15, 1910 Apostolic Letter Notre Charge Apostolique [“Our Apostolic Mandate”] to the French Bishops, August 15, 1910, condemning the French socialistic movement Le Sillon

Pius XI: “We make this pronouncement: Whether considered as a doctrine, or an
historical fact, or a movement, Socialism, if it remains truly Socialism, even after it has yielded to truth and justice on the points which we have mentioned, cannot be reconciled with the teachings of the Catholic Church because its concept of society itself is utterly foreign to Christian truth.”

      May 15, 1931: Encyclical Quadragesimo Anno, May 15, 1931, n. 117

and more from the same Encyclical:

“[Socialism] is based nevertheless on a theory of human society peculiar to itself and irreconcilable with true Christianity. Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms; no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist.”

      n. 120

I fear that the American people do not appreciate the severity of the ACA mandates denying our religious rights. If these mandates stand then there is no freedom that will stand. We must fight as though the entire Constitution is in peril.

Considering the Vatican’s Jesuit promulgation of socialism, this guy is on dangerous ground in his church. Catholicism has NEVER defended religious liberty in any way, shape, or form.

When Michelle Obama said that there is no better place than church to discuss social issues, she meant a church such as one with a Reverend Wright at the pulpit, a socialist and hater of America and it’s Democratic Principles.  This Catholic Priest was talking to us all but, he was calling out the Obama’s of the world who are attempting to take down the church and let their socialistic world take charge and thus diminishing us all to puppets.

Come on, Governor Romney!  Stand up for your religion with fervor as this good man is doing for his!  Stand up for ALL religions. Stand against Communism, Governor Romney. Yes, it’s about the economy. But so much more is at stake. Our whole Constitutional Republic, our values, our Christian Faiths, our children, are ALL at stake. FOR ONCE, STAND UP AND FIGHT, Governor Romney!  We will back you. If you need examples, this good man is a fine one. Open your mouth and speak with force, Governor Romney, lest you be taken as milk toast and a progressive, just as John McCain was milk toast and a progressive. We are looking for a leader, Governor Romney. Here is a fine example as to what you SHOULD be saying, loudly and clearly. Listen to this good man. This is no ordinary election. These are extraodinary times and call for strength and strong vocal leadership. Say the words, Governor Romney, that everyone who loves this country and this Constitution is waiting for you to say. Invoke The Covenant, Governor Romney, and ask that Divine Protection, once again, be granted to this nation. Sing that song loud and clear, Governor Romney. “Oh, beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain….. SING IT OUT, Governor Romney, LOUD AND CLEAR! LET ALL HEAR THE LOVE OF COUNTRY THAT IS IN YOUR HEART. WE WILL SING WITH YOU.  For purple mountain’s majesty, Above the fruited plain. AMERICA, AMERICA, GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE. AND CROWN THY GOOD WITH BROTHERHOOD. FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA.

We will stand with you, Governor Romney. We will sing with you. We will praise God with you. But you must stand and be heard. We are waiting…….

This was great – I have passed it along to others also. I agree with you regarding Barack Obama’s re-election and that the information is out there for any to see. But, I have found that so many people REFUSE to see. My husband and I are amazed by how ignorant some people choose to be! I don’t believe the current administration is incompetent – I believe they are evil and they know EXACTLY what they are doing. I also believe there is like a spiritual blindness or dullness that affects some people. It’s only God and his word that breaks that darkness and allows people to see. I believe people need to be ready to pitch in and help with the healing and rebuilding of this nation if hopefully Romney is elected. I have to give you credit, Glenn for your courage and insightfullness on these things. Unfortunately, I think this administration will do anything to get re-elected and finish their horrific agenda. Between now and November it’s going to get ugly. I pray all the time for this country and the people – I think it may get much darker before there is dawn. But I know one thing – God looks out for his people.

Well, you have to define what it is you consider socialism to be, because that can mean thousands of different things, and to not mistake what we have in America with taxation and regulations and social programs as socialism, things every country in the world has in order to operation.  Many of our social programs are as a direct byproduct of living with capitalism, because businesses fail, are consolidated, sold out, shipped overseas, jobs cut, leaving people out in the cold with nowhere to go but the social programs we set up to handle those down times.  Our capitalist system decimated pensions, so responsible people got shafted and can’t afford to be old without the social programs that we all paid for responsibly with our taxes for that every event.  Our capitalist system keeps wages  very low for many, minimum wages with no no healthcare at current costs of living are not sustainable, so rather than let people starve in the streets we “religiously” tithe our money to care for the poor, which is what Jesus commanded, and in fact instructed his apostles to sell all their goods and private property to distribute according to need, something we don’t really do here, we do ask for a tithe in the form of a tax though as compassionate Christians/Jews/Buddhists/Atheists, etc.  Communism and facism (under Hitler who hid behind Christianity for a time but persecuted Jews, Catholics, other Christian noncomformists but were not liberal democrats believing in equal rights for all of faith, color, gender, mental capacity, orientation), etc.  Spare me the socialist baloney, we don’t have that here and we are not at risk of it here, whether we could use the brand that Jesus asked for or not…its a scare tactic by the corporation to ensure their continue wealth at the expense of the common worker and the poor who are at the mercy of market forces of capitalism..you can’t have your cake and eat it to, or can you with more equitable pay, cost of living, healthcare that is not profit driven and therefore more affordable…..

    • Anonymous

People on this site understand the truth & know the facts of the past history.  You have twisted the actual facts to fit the left agenda, basically you have listened to every left talking point and espoused it into your post.  Socialism is taking from private individuals and giving it to the collective.  Taking from those who have earned through hard work, even if it was inherited it was from an individuals hard work, and giving to those who do nothing. Charity has always been available in every community and freely given to those in need during a crisis. I give my time in service at a soup kitchen.  How about you?  Pensions were decimated when the housing bubble collapsed, the bubble created by demonRat politicians in the late 90’s, by screwing with the mandatory requirements for obtaining a mortgage.  Bush 43 was stopped by demonRats from correcting the requirements in ’05 & ’06. Thank Clinton when you whine about outsourcing and shipping jobs overseas.  Minimum wages are only to be stepping stones to careers.  Starting blocks for teens and young adults to learn work ethics and the meaning of a dollar.
I don’t have time to waste pointing out your numerous flaws on Religion.  You have twisted the word of God/Jesus belying your lack of bible study.  The church asks for what you can give.  10% is suggested.  The demonRats want more – 39+/-% FICA, 30 – 40% dividends, SS, Medicare, 50 – 55% inheritance, healthcare.  Then we get into the business taxes: payroll, unemployment, healthcare, etc….  These are just a few of the taxes the demonRats get now and they want MORE!  You buy a home or a car – you never own it cause if you don’t pay your property taxes they can take it from you.
P.s. You mean like Obama pretending to be a “Christian” while working to demolish those of faith – except Islamist?

Thank you Fr. for being a courageous shepherd.  I work to expose the agenda of the Girl Scouts who are a liberal, progressive, feminist girls club.  This group promotes Planned Parenthood and the sexualization of our kids.  He who owns the youth…owns the country and that is their plan.  Through an agreement with Janet Napolitino and the CEO of GS all of the girls are mbrs. of the Youth Corp.  Be afraid be very afraid. Please connet to sites that will give you fact.  http://www.100questionsforthegirlscouts.org   http://www.speaknowgirlscouts.com  http://www.honestgirlscouts.com  http://www.girlscoutswhynot.com.  A group of families have come together through the plan of God and we are grateful to The Blaze for helping us expose the agenda of the Girl Scouts.  As a parent we are the vicars of our families.  Every GS is registered and sells cookies which means each and every GS is a partner with PP.  Parents need to take this resposibily seriously.  NO CATHOLIC girl can be in GS.  They are not in keeping with our Catholic faith nor in fact any moral based thinking.  I pray that this message goes far and wide.  Trust me the media other that The Blaze is not interested as you would know.  FB Make the Girl Scouts Clean Again and Honest Girl Scouts.com is also helpful.  In fact I help monitor the one site started by C-FAM editor Austin Ruse.  When you see the PORN that is in the girls program books and the fact that they send girls to Media Matters for their facts you will know I speak truth.  Please pray for courage and let your pastors know and your ministers.  Planned Parenthood does not need GS money…they want our GIRLS.  More sex…more babies..more abortions.  They have a agenda make no mistake.  Within their program Journey founded by a cult guru the indoctrintion of our children starts in kindergarten rather innocently and moves to leading girls to the occult and so much more.  I am a 68 yr. old Lifetime Mbr. and I have my Gold Award (First Class) I also have my Marian Award and the St.L. Arch. awarded me the St. Elizabeth Anne Seton and the St. Ann Award.  I worked for the Catholic Committee for almost 30 yrs.  This is truly an alert.  The troop your child is in is probably clean but the $$$ you are giving them for mbrship goes to filth.  You must pray and be a role model.  Not easy…Just necessary.   God Bless

I applaud his words, and yet this is nothing new. Since the advent of the demonic socialist system, the Church has taught that socialism was evil and contrary to the Gospel. The writings of John Paul II were filled with it. Still, as a Catholic, I had to smile, and smile big, to hear this priest saying out loud the words of John Paul II. May there be a thousand more behind him, ready to take up this fight in this same manner.

For these who may not comprehend, the word “lord” in the Hebrew tongue of Aramaic means “law, power, or authority”. The freedom of serving the lord is restrained only by the established law, the current which is dictated by “the rite to make a profit” i.e. capitalism, may not be christian.  I don’t remember Jesus saying “put money first and compete to survive”.  The first two commandments of a merchant corporation however are exactly that.  Perhaps we should unify as a body of people “Jesus”, having accepted Jesus in heart, and maturing to walk as he, and establish a kingdom hanging all the laws on “put the lord (law) first, and love your neighbor/ brother as yourself”.  Just maybe, we might be better off for it and the children may have a future other than paying trillions of dollars of debt (note soon to be called by the rider on the white merchant horse being faithful to man’s law and true, because numbers don’t lie), the children had nothing to do with creating.  Perhaps that is what happens when unreborn men and women whom have cremated care, are elected to run a resurrected Roman empire and sell out the people because they want to be their brothers’ keeper, but they have a weakness for the gold and can’t help but sell the law to the corporations via lobbyists walking right past the nation’s military into congress to take part in the debauchery.

  • Anonymous

However, using the law to justify killing is not christian.  That is why the levitical order was closed down before Rome invaded their lands, and the “dark ages” were only a repeat of people exercising the same feigned righteous stance-“kill ’em, they’re not perfect”.  Disarming them from being able or “Abel” to destroy our lives might be christian.  Perhaps we need to learn how to slay/disarm Abel? “Some are born eunuchs and some are made eunuchs”. Maybe Cain slaying Abel, or rendering impotent, was a good thing and the Lord avenging anyone slaying Cain would make sense.  It may just be metaphorical explanation of reality, instead of crazy physical supernaturally powerful literal stories. I mean, what church baptizes in literal fire, as Jesus said he came to do?

Glenn. Ever since the HHS Law, & the FORTNIGHT for Freedom Masses which were daily Masses until the 4th of July, priests across the USA were given permission to speak from the pulpit about the encroachment of the government on the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church has a great number of dynamic priests who have the gift of belting the message out to the Laity at he Parish level. Catholic Conferences and Religious Congresses are loaded with them. At my own church, they hit it out of the park to get the message to Catholics who were/are asleep about the impact of HHS.  The problem is going to be with those who are lukewarm, which it appears the Prez is counting on to implement Secularism/Marxism. The LA Times on July 4th had a brazen full page ad saying, It’s time to leave the Catholic Church… This put a fire under our priest who presented a 1/2 hr homily PLUS an effective reading of the homily of Bishop Caput!!! Unheard of in our church. What I notice however, is that the HHS message is only emphasized when the USCCB sends out a message to the Diocese across the US.  But at our church, there is a prayer we say daily from the USCCB specifically addressing Religious Freedom and our leadership and inalienable rights. August is approaching. I’m still not clear about what is going to happen, but I read that there may be a way to delay the Mandate for a year.  By then, Romney will be in. Or if not, history shows that unrest will ensue when our church is persecuted in this manner.

  • Mark Cline

I want to point out an issue that I don’t hear anyone speaking about: the black vote.  I perfectly understand why in 2008 the black vote was overwhelmingly for a black man. About 96%.  If I were black I would probably have voted that way too.  But now that we know what Obama is all about, it doesn’t seem as though the black vote is going to change.  Black unemployment is nearly double that of the general population, and yet it doesn’t seem to matter to them.  What’s going on?  Is this proof that they’re almost all racists?  Or are they almost all stupid?  Or is it that most of them are feeding at the government trough?  Maybe all three reasons come into play.  I don’t know, but it should be discussed, regardless of whether or not it is PC to do so.  Obama could get re-elected partially because non-black Americans don’t want to offend black Americans.  I’m not saying we should start using the N word.  But we need to start discussing this.  Much more of the black popululation than 4 or 5 percent needs to start acting more like Americans and less like black Americans.  In 2008 we elected a black man into the office of president.  That proved we weren’t racists.  And I didn’t come up with this next statement, but someone recently added that now we need to elect someone else to prove we aren’t stupid.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bea.biederman Bea Biederman

Mark, I empathize with you, however; the video was about socialism– not the black vote, racism, PC or the N word…

Eve desired to be like “gods” and ate of the tree and brought death and suffering.  Eve thought she know better.  Eve is neither the source nor arbiter of Truth.  It is no small wonder that a world filled with thousands (or millions) of wanna-be gods is in such dire condition.

    Wow,  very brave priest.

We, as true, God-fearing, Americans, are now fighting WWIII.   In God We Trust!

Lets roll these clowns out.   Afterall, we have support for the ne’er do-wells; its called charity.

Work ethic means everything in capitalism.   Those that do more, comparatively, than non-believers, deserve more.

Why are we allowing this to happen?

The goal of the Democratic Socialists of America has never been deeply hidden. Prior to the cleanup of its website in 1999, the DSA included a song list featuring “The Internationale,” the worldwide anthem of communism and socialism. Another song on the site was “Red Revolution” sung to the tune of “Red Robin.” The lyrics went: “When the Red Revolution brings its solution along, along, there’ll be no more lootin’ when we start shootin’ that Wall Street throng. …” Another song removed after WorldNetDaily’s expose was “Are You Sleeping, Bourgeoisie?” The lyrics went: “Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie. And when the revolution comes, We’ll kill you all with knives and guns, Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie.”
In the last three years, the Progressive Caucus has been careful to moderate its image for mainstream consumption.

Do not equate socialism with atheism, I strongly suggest to those people to acquaint themselves with Ayn Rand; Laissez Faire Capitalism.

The Church is hamstrung  by 501c status  and fear of losing tax-exemptions by trying to sway an election.  It is crucial that the laity do this – that is, campaign against the socialistic incumbent – but we cannot even use our parish bulletins or other resources unless we are clever and then the message gets watered down. Because of this, Brad Pitt’s mother (she said that no Christian should vote for Obama) has more power than all the Bishops. Unless we can speak openly to all parishioners, the whole issue is going to come across as optional which will possibly leave us with maybe 10% of Catholics getting involved.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer–incarnate.  Pray GOD we listen and at best possible participate so as not to repeat history, but learn from it.

We are blessed to have Father Andrew as pastor of our Church. He continues to be outspoken in fighting for our religious freedom, and his parishioners support him. We all need to be bold and fight like him.

I agree with the reaction of Jesus to the suggestion of Judas when Judas suggested confiscating private property and selling it to ive the money to the poor. The scripture also reveals the underlying motive begind the suggestion.  Keep in min that this happened 2,000 years ago, so socialism is not a recent invention andKarl Marx is not the true author of this philosophy.. Read the Gospel of John 12: 1-8  This incident is mentioned in various forms in all four gospels.

This is the only time in our history that Christian groups (churchs and members) have been killed and the United States has not publicly condemned that nations that have failed to ATTEMPT to protect them as in recent Egypt and Nigeria.  Communist countries (USSR, China, etc.) did this routinely as national policy and the USA always spoke up in protest. When national governments looked the other way – we SPOKE up.
Only now it is shameful our State Dept and President ignore it.

Vicky, You should find out where this precious priest is.  You know I live in Alabama now and I used to live in CA.  In fact there are several priests with whom I have come into contact with both in CA and AL who are as wonderful as this Holy Priest is!
