“Welcome to Chick-fil-A day on the Glenn Beck Program. It’s a new sponsor thing that we’re trying out today,” Glenn joked.
Earlier in the program, Glenn brought out the new “prize head” – a severed mannequin head filled with slips of paper that had the names of all the different companies that could end up winning a free sponsorship of the show. Oddly enough, none of the other slips of paper had anything other than Chick-Fil-A on there.
And while Glenn claimed that this free sponsorship would be a huge money maker for “Glenn Beck Industries”, he couldn’t quite explain how it worked:
GLENN: It’s a very complex system.
PAT: I don’t think you would understand it, Stu.
STU: I’ve been in radio for, what, 15 years now.
PAT: You’re not a businessman.
STU: I’m not?
In a completely unrelated story, today is Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day! The restaurant has come under scrutiny recently over the owners’ support for traditional marriage, and today many are coming out to Chick-Fil-A to show their support. Glenn, however, claimed that the sponsorship of Chick-Fil-A today was totally unrelated (editor’s note: I doubt that).
“We’re not in the business of getting into anything controversial on this program. This is just a free sponsorship day. The program, brought to you by Chick-Fil-A.”
Throughout the program, Glenn came up with several new Chick-Fil-A slogans:
Have you driven a chicken lately? Chick-fil-A.
Chick-fil-A, we make dead things yummy.
Chick-fil-A, we bring good things to life, Chick-fil-A.
