Do we rely on God or government?

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

Do we rely on God or government? That’s the question that Glenn presented to the audience tonight on TheBlaze. On a day when the Democrats were booed by their own delegates for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (after previously stating otherwise) and reinstating a reference to God in their party platform, Glenn asked the audience to look at the options being presented to them and decide: Do we put God first? Or do we put our faith in government?

Considering the rash of resent weather events including wildfires, floods, hurricanes, drought, it seems as if God might be none to happy with what has transpired down here below. To me anyway, that indicates we Americans are not relying on God as much as we might suggest.

If our people cannot find logical solutions that come from above, if we cannot agree on what God is most concerned, then how can we rely on the governments created by men?

  • Warmac9999

Progressives are inherently opposed to anything that competes with the state. It is no surprise that eliminating God is one of their fondest wishes

  • Soulphoenix

It was so hilarious to hear the Democratic leadership claim that leaving all mention of God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel out of their official platform was an “oversight.” Who is dumb enough to believe that? Seriously. I’m still laughing. My side hurts.

America, and more specifically conservative Americans are a link to an uncharted future that frightens those who are not spiritually grounded. The mind of the socialist craves that comfortable cocoon that stifles progress, spiritually and technologically. We have advanced so quickly in such a short time that it‘s understandable we may experience some growing pains. But to what degree will we allow the desires of the ignorant socialist to take hold? Will we fall back a few notches, or will it fully embrace us, decimating the dream our founders struggled to create for America. I don’t want to believe that free market capitalism has failed or that personal responsibility can’t be relearned. I always said the government needs to cut off the unnecessary entitlements. Stop handing out free stuff, which only stifles the incentive of those capable of caring for themselves. But actually we just need to stop taking it, and we need to teach others to do the same. We have to become a proud people again, only taking help as a last resort. I truly hope that we can break free of this government restraint, true freedom is always the more difficult path, but always the most rewarding.

I have a feeling the number relying on God instead of govt. is going to increase in the near future. Just give me Jesus.

silly, lets forget about any science the past 5 centuries have provided, through Alexander Bell, Ben Franklin, Einstein, Isaac Newton, Steve Jobs,
Bill Gates, Einstein has taught us that Gods will is the driving force behind science and technology. Humans desire to figure out deeper meaning of life, by studying the natural world.

I don’t feel as a women my reproductive rights were ever taken away, first off I‘m not drunk or high enough to “accidentally“ get pregnant. As for the less fortunate cases of rape, when has it not been our choice. I’m 35, at least not in my lifetime, no one’s looking to take early term abortion away. That’s more of a state issue anyway. I would be more concerned about my rights in the military than my reproductive rights. Like lowering standards to create inequality, no matter how hard you work you will always be considered sub par. Affirmative action works in the same fashion. I am definitely closer to Ron Paul, I do believe we have to stand on our own merits and get government out of our business and out of the business of other countries. Strengthen our own defense with out trampling are rights. As for government take over of business, Obama will tax them all 100% and loop holes will be used for leverage to force businesses to bend to his will. What a bleak future, I’ll take my chance with Romney for now. Perhaps a more libertarian pres. will be possible in the future. You may say I’m not principled enough to vote third party, but I have senior parents and I can’t see them suffer with Obama care.

Are you saying that you against putting the Allah – the god that over 1 billion people accept out or eliminating this god? Because that is what you essentially saying when you say you do not want ‘god’ eliminated from state affairs.

  • Warmac9999

Socialism cannot stand the competition from a higher power. The state is everything and the people are units of production. When those units are considered valueless, they are aborted or euthanized. Socialism is a soulless ideology.

  • Warmac9999

You have twisted my point which is that socialism cannot stand competition from a higher power. It is a mechanistic ideology and that is why it is often referred to as secular. Socialism is soulless.

Ding dong…. f**K you. God doesn’t have a magic tree of money either. No my friends are hard working and middle class real american tax payers. People that pay taxes in this country, not shelter it in offshore accounts. I know where the money comes from, I know that praying isn’t going to build roads either.

  • Lioness

Thanks for your foul uneducated mouth. There is no point in building roads when Obama realizes his dream of making the US a third world country. Where will you travel to, and with what money? Sure the government should be in charge of defense and infrastructure, but that’s not what they are doing. They are not working for the people anymore, Obama knows how obsessed with money the Reed’s and Pelosi’s are, and he’s using them like the idiots they are to push his agenda. Likewise he’s probably a useful idiot himself. Those who knew of his ideology may have wanted him in power just to push their own global agenda.

This is not what I want for America, paying for foreigners to get fancy educations and taking our jobs, taking away any opportunity to start small business through taxation and regulation, giving major tax breaks to corporations that bend to the green agenda. What exactly is it that you are willing to give up, how much are you willing to spend before it’s too much? China and Japan practically own us right now, so just how much more should we tax the rich? 100% wouldn’t even make a dent in the deficit.

Four more years will allow him more “flexibility” to do what he really desires. Perhaps your just one more useful idiot who needs to experience the pain before you acknowledge it, but I prefer to think ahead. Why would you even want to take the chance and believe that Obama’s not what people say he is, read his book for goodness sakes, he says in his own words that he hates America. Unless of course you hate us too.

  • Anonymous

Uneducated? you were the only throwing the insults. We aren’t paying foreigner to get US education. I work at a University, the foreign student countries are paying for them to get education, while we make education unobtainable and keep our citizens dumb. Big Big Big mistake.

We’re stuck in ideologically rhetoric, instead of investing in our citizens and helping with our skyrocketing costs of education. Education is the key.

  • Lioness

I call my sister ding dong, it’s a silly insult, not foul. We invest in education enough, and yes illegal’s are getting an education on our dime. To compound the problem, government forces lenders to hand out loans to every one, including people who are not qualified to attend college, and definitely not qualified for such a massive loan. Not everyone needs a college education for goodness sakes, but if you follow Obama’s obsession, he’ll have all of Kenya in Harvard. We invest enough already, many universities do not have any specific expectations for enrolment at this point. Just get the loan, get enrolled, and they’ll make sure you take a dozen prerequisites before you drop out. They accept anyone, and make a boat load off of it by jacking up the costs, making it impossible for any one to attend college the old fashioned way (ya know, by working for it). You might be stuck in ideological rhetoric, I’m just stuck in logic. Obtaining a useful education is important, I think we have enough liberal arts majors already.

  • Anonymous

Usefull education what is that? a Teacher, Doctor, Lawyer Accountant? You’re right not everyone needs to go to University but it should be obtainable, I’ve seen far to many bright young kids drop out because they can’t afford the costs. Is any 18 yr old qualified for $100k + loan?

Everyone complains about wasting our taxes, I want a smarter, educated population at all ages, and social economic back grounds, its not about paying for someone else or socialising education, its about investing in people, our people, American People its the one the that we will get a return on.

  • Lioness

Useful educations can be obtained at a trade school. Plumbers, mechanics, electricians, computer techs. Why Lawyer? There are way too many of those already. And why are so many of our doctors foreign born? Teachers are a dime a dozen. And if we had a flat tax CPA’s wouldn’t be much of a commodity either. The jobs I mentioned above are all necessary and very useful. There are many useful jobs that don’t even require educations, cleaning is so important, a lost art if you will, starting a business in this industry is sure to do well. Many companies train people for management within their own ranks. Many grocery store and fast food places do this. Upper management is obtainable if you show imitative (like showing up on time and actually working) sure you may start out minimum wage, but you can move up rather quickly. I’d prefer any one of these options to being loaded up with debt for that oh so useful anthropology degree. How bout creative writing or philosophy? Now that’s useful (sarcasm). Of course there is also police, firefighters, and active military (which can help pay for a future degree). Do you not believe that large loans are not being handed to young people? Oh yes they are, I know this from personal experience, and as for my job, well I see it all the time. I run at least 40 credit records a year, and Sally May comes up quite often. Why are people obsessed with the advanced degree, as though any thing else is beneath them, like life isn‘t worth living if you don‘t have 7+ years in college. But let’s not forget the biggest problem of all, inadequate public schools in low income areas where money is being misused and abused. The saddest part is that black people specifically are being exploited by their own black leaders. Look a the cesspool of Detroit. Unions, Kilpatric and his minions, and they all voted him in again knowing he was a thief. Stealing is OK, but when the current mayor made real cuts everyone went nuts. No one is receiving an adequate education K-12 and most colleges just repeat the same classes that should have been taught in high school. People complain about large class rooms and sub par teachers, but I’ll take a large class with an awesome teacher any day. Get rid of those damn unions, tenure and start with quality teachers for goodness sake.
