Joe, you are dead wrong.  Obama has raised taxes on everyone, but under the radar.  The business tax rate in the US is the highest in the world.  Obamacare imposed a tax on all medical devices manufactured and sold in the US.  This has cost business millions of dollars in a marketplace where margins are small and R&D is expensive.

And through regulation, Obama has caused every American to pay more for food, clothing and transportation.

Until you have been a small business owner, 24/7 you don’t know how hard and stressful it is.  I couldn’t afford health insurance as much as I would have liked to.  I was up over $500,000 and this seems like a BIG amount, but I can tell you I made about $30,000 net a year.  EXPENSES and taxes did their job.  Want to try it????  Be my guest and then let’s hear what you think.

I have, and it is tough work.  I now consult to them.  The biggest issue I see with most of them is that while they have an entrepreneur spirit, they struggle with their financials and understanding them.  And in a lot of cases, they have a poor accountant or tax attorney, which may be the real reason this guy is shutting his shop, but I cannot say.

I have family and friends struggling to keep their business afloat due to government regulation and taxation, they were doing good until this administration screwed them. My step-mother owns a huge farm that employs quite a few people who’d beg to differ with your opinion. She has gone from just over $1,000,000 in personal assets to barely making ends meet, as she gets taxed and regulated heavily at both ends, she let’s less-fortunate people live in the various houses around the farm with the only condition being they keep an eye on things for her and pay their electric bills. She has had to invest most of her wealth into just keeping the once-prosperous farm running, while the IRS desperately tries to find a way to accuse her of wrongdoing. They repeatedly audit her even though they have never found any evidence she did anything wrong. She has to pay lawyers to constantly fight them so she can afford to keep paying her workers. Don’t tell me he’s lying, you don’t have a clue with your head all the way up your a$$!

Conservatives may not agree with things like drugs, prostitution or gay marriage, but if we allow people to be truly free, we can get out of this mess we are in.
The Republicans have failed Conservatives, again. They keep putting up candidates that talk about being Conservative, but never turn out to be Conservative. How many times are we going to allow this happen? I believe it’s time for Conservatives to embrace the Libertarian Party. The Libertarian Party is preaching the same thing I hear Conservatives talking about, small government/big freedom. Republicans are not delivering that, but the Libertarian Party can and will. Republicans have changed into something I do not recognize. The Republican party is no longer my dad’s party. If he were alive today, he would be pissed. Then again, if we had that generation alive today, we would never be in this situation in the first place. It’s time to embrace real freedom and we need to do it by another name. The Libertarian Party offers us this chance. We can expedite the process by doing it this way. Trying to change the Republican Party from within will take too long and I do not believe we have that much time. We have a two-year reprieve; only because the House is still a Republican majority, but that could change in two years. If the House goes back to the Democraps in two years, think of the problems that will cause.
In conclusion, that is why the time is NOW. It’s time to realize that this is the quickest solution.

People’s tax rates are different, and I have never paid any more than 40% in taxes, which is still too high, but still less than half of my income.  But for discussion sake, let’s suppose that I do pay 50% in taxes to the federal government – about 11.5% of that 50% (5.75% of my income) goes to Social Security; about 

4.6% (2.3%) goes to welfare; about 3.5% (1.75%) goes to disability payments and 0.7% (0.35%) goes to unemployment.  Totaled, that’s about 22% of my federal taxes “going to people who don’t work”, which includes senior citizens, not 50%.@Liberate, so are you saying the tyranny and dictatorship of any person serving as president or just Obama?  Where are your facts to support your statement?  Last I checked, we have free speech in this country, which allows me to express my point of view and ask questions.  Tyranny and dictatorships tend to suppress differing points of view.

@Chet McPherson The 11.5% that was SUPPOSED to go to SS has been raided and the structure is unsustainable..something the president won’t address because of his lack of leadership. 4.6% to welfare which now has a definition of WORK that is absurd…another thanks to Obama..so a large portion of that is also being wasted. .7% to unemployment that is so long now because of a crummy Obama economy and the nanny state mentality that is making it run rampant and bankrupting that program also…another failure. @madinillinois:disqus , actually, I do.  I have a Master’s degree in Econ.  First of all, it is the small companies, not the 1% who are the main job providers in the US.  I agree that they employee millions, but these are typically the CEOs of the Fortune 500.  I am one of those making > $250K a year, so I would hardly qualify as a “lazy butt”, but I do appreciate the name calling, as it supports my belief that people on both sides, the left and the right, who immediately resort to name calling and innuendo can’t bring themselves to the point of even having an open dialog on the issues and trying to see where we have things in common, just like the demos and repubs representing us.

@Tower, first, a lame duck sessions occurs when Congress meets after the president’s successor has been elected, but before the successor’s term begins.  Second, I think that you’re referring to when Congress is in recess when the president gets stuff done with out them like appointing judges (recess appointment).  However, there aren’t things “passed” while in recess.  ”Pass” assumes that others voted on it, such as bills. What specifically are you referring to?
