While it is apparent – and disappointing - that most Americans are lost, what is important to remember is that we as conservatives who understand and appreciate our Constitution and traditional American values are not lost.  We must continue to do what we have always done – turn to one another to hold strong, keep faith and continue working to build a better country.  All is not lost, only the road has gotten a little steeper and we’ll have to push a little harder to get up it.  And if any of us struggle, we’ll reach out to lend a hand.  God Bless Glenn and everyone who worked so hard and continue to work hard to improve our great nation.  We have nothing to be ashamed of.

Is it true that a nation get’s the government it deserves? America doesn’t deserve this. On TV and radio Obama has just been declared the winner. Romney didn’t lose; America did. The world did. Everybody did. The world needs a strong, moral America. Instead, the electoral college system defied the will of the people and and delivered the country to its enemies. Like all tyrants, Obama did not keep secret his real agenda. He whispered it to Putin’s man when he didn’t know his microphone was live. America blew it. Let’s hope the country can survive the next four years and not repeat the same mistake in 2016. Perhaps this is what the Mayans foretold in their calendar.

We have been set up bad, and the fact Obama has no intention of keeping the Bush tax cuts, or of doing anything about the sequestration is clear and manifest. He will do his best to crush the Republic until nothing is left save ashes.

We have missed the last turn, and plunged back into the nightmare of nightmares now w/o any restraint on earth to stop a completely insane President who has nothing left to lose.

Well the voting system in place is and never has been a proper way of voting. If a State is already considered a certain party for every election just because it goes through as the majority it’s not a fair system. Just take California for example automatically 55 electoral votes. I live in California and I’m a Republican voter so every election I vote it will never count. The Republican candidate will never benefit from my vote.So it would make no difference if I voted or not, election voting should be on the total amount of votes. Not this Electoral garbage!

You may be right. Our nation when preserved may be comprised of only a remnant. We can hold to our founding principles.

I’m surprised at myself. At first I was praying for Romney’s victory, now I’m praying for the misfortune of others. I hoped that the Obama voters would be the first to loose their jobs, I hoped that they would loose their homes, government benefits. But most importantly, I hope that they would see the consequences of their actions. They deserve every moment of suffering they receive. I am literally praying for another recession, or better yet, a depression. Sometimes you need to tear it all down and rebuild. Half of the voters know what to expect and will prepare. May God help us.

I am afraid we will all learn to live with it. We have hard times ahead.

The goal is going to be to find the sweet spot, where you can get away with the least amount of work and get the most from others from the government.  The “rich” as was first discussed, started at over a million, is now around 200,000, and will be the meat of the middle class.  That is where it will end up.  As the number drops, those in the target area will realize there is no purpose to achieve more and will drop lower and lower, revenues will follow, and sooner or later the golden goose will be dead.  It is the socialist way.  It is what the masses have chosen.

 i think the best solution that sill gives tiny states importance would be for electoral college not to be winner take all but to be divided proportionally based on what % of votes a candidate gets in each state.  So a republican could get 15-20 california college votes and dems could get some from texas democrats.

My daughter spent 45 minutes crying because she is worried about what is going to happen now.  My heart is breaking because my children are facing a future that is so uncertain and dark and because we have let our founding fathers and God down. My daughter fell asleep crying because we have been asleep for far too long and they have been working the entire time. It’s our turn now to work twice as hard and three times as fast than they did!

Thank you for your comforting words!  I told my daughter that we will go to church, pray and draw strength through God.  I shared with her that my life has not been easy but that I am the person I am today ONLY through the Grace and Love of God!  I explained to her that now is when she has to learn to become stronger and rely on God especially when things look as dark as they do right now!  I will not give up so easily and I will not stop believing in the goodness and Grace this country was founded on!

The problem is nullification ended with the Civil War.  I would agree with you that it’s totally Constitutional, and we should follow the Constitution, but we don’t and haven’t for a long time.  When the GOP doesn’t stand strong for even simple things, like declaration of war, you really think there is a snowball’s chance of states nullifying federal law?  Get real.  TX legislature was talking about shutting down the TSA at TX airports.  Feds threatened to ground air traffic and TX immediately caved in. 

 First Texas didn’t immediately cave in. They just modified the law to avoid the confrontation. Texas is a VERY pro-National Security state so that is not the type of issue they’d go to war over.

But if WHEN, not if, Texas tries to nullify ObamaCare, if the Feds try a similar bullying tactic, Texas WILL NOT back down

And Texas has nuclear weapons, so really there is no point in claiming the feds can do anything to stop secession. Similar to when Ukraine seceded from the USSR, they had nukes so it couldn’t be stopped.

Folks, we MUST look at this, as hard as it may be right now, as losing a battle, but we can still win the war.  I have seen many friends and relatives that have for years been  rigid liberals/democrats turn 180 deegrees in this election and vote for Romney because the facts don’t lie.  I have a couple of relatives that  are in southern California that I would NEVER have thought would be anything other than liberal/progressive turn completely over to Romney and conservative principles after the last 4 years of Obama.  NEVER thought I would see that.  I have twin 21-month old boys and I am very concerned for their future.  I will stay hard to the facts, REAL history, and raise them to appreciate the founding principles of this great nation.  We must take the high road and maintain/spread the true hope that our founding fathers established so eloquently.

It’s more likely a TINY state would secede first, like Wyoming, Alaska, Utah, or Idaho.

Then the momentum from that would cause Texas and a dozen other states to go, especially since it would mean two less GOP senators if a GOP state leaves, and would cause a chain reaction. Plus when we have to modify the flag and take down a star each time a state leaves it makes patriotism go down the drain.

Unfortunately, the Federal Government bribes the tiny GOP states like Alaska and Wyoming with billions of federal dollars being spent there to make sure they stick around. So maybe Texas would go first in that it’s harder to bribe Texas.

But Texas has natural resources abound, and would get a HUGE economic boost from secession (it would no longer have federal regulations and debt holding it down). I suspect that once the Federal Government starts bailing out California and New Jersey, that Texans will start considering leaving.

I have this scene in my head and I would like to share it here with you here, because you understand. It goes like this:
The crowd cheers and people start running toward him. He is smiling as he stands in front of a large paper banner with the word “FORWARD” appears. People charge towards him and he steps aside. They run though the banner and falls into a pit filled with paper money, birth control pills, Obama Water, and most exciting, Obama Phones. The people are gleeful, ecstatic and start to chant. They jump with excitement, but the ground covered with money seems kind of squishy. Obama stands at the edge of the cliff; his countenance shines so bright, but he appears to be getting smaller, as the walls get taller and taller. People notice that everything has been provided for them… they wander over to see an vast storage container marked “food”, but notice tiny arms and legs crushed under the door and look away. Another container marked clothes is opened to reveal blue shirts and pants, all nicely packaged in plastic, with the word, “Forward” emblazoned on the shirt pocket. People turn to stare at each other. A woman falls to her knees and cries out, “Oh God” and someone pushes her and says, “Stop it. We have everything we need.” ”Look at the phones we got!” But they don’t work very well in this pit. Obama has walked away smiling and is heard to say, “Easy”. People start moving- foward, walking toward- well they can’t see anything. It’s too vast, a sea of people- moving foward. They look up and see ghostly visages standing there, as they move. Wearing colonial garb, they fade away. It’s dark, pitch black now, as they move, forward. People discover the flashlight app on their phone and “wow, this is great!” is exclaimed. They turn the Obama Lights on and group appears to shine brightly and they look at each other and smile. The lights starts to dim. But they keep moving- foward, just like Obama said…

This is a good result. America has been failing for many years. Now the forces that have led to its failure have won a clear victory but here is the thing. In Victory they have no idea how to lead. Hollow victories mean nothing. Is America now a doomed nation? I believe that it is. But through that doom something better might arise. Over the next 4 years our economy will not grow, if anything it will stagnate.  Taxes will grow higher across the board, the poor will grow poorer while the middle class slide down the ladder. The Middle East will continue to crumble. In the next few days we will learn that Under Obama’s watch FEMA has failed in a New York and New Jersey. The people who embraced his hollow promises will see the error of their ways when children cant get food!  The reality of what happened in Benghazi will be exposed under the investigations  that Obama could only delay past the elections.  Our health care will fully kick in and it will be a disaster!  Every hollow promise the American people bought into from Obama will crush them slowly but certainly.

General Grant knew that he had to free himself from a defensive mindset (the same mindset of Republicans for too long), that he had to stop defending the North and start attacking the South. Once so freed the South was driven to defeat. Today we have a chance in America’s death throes to rediscover the deeper values of what America once meant and to build anew!

And for the South, they had a political aim for the war.It was their goal to shape political policy across the nation. The lost the war and yet within a few years of that defeat it was Southern Democrats who shaped the whole nation for the next 100 years. The south achieved in defeat what they never could with victory.

Is this a dark day? yes. But we should not lose hope, in fact we must see the rewards this defeat offers to us, the defeated, embrace them and transform them into the weapons we will need to forge a, not a more perfect union, that has long since failed, but a new Union made more perfect from the bones of the old. Right now all patriotic Americans should accept that the American they believe in is dead, that individual liberty has no room in what America has become, that we are to be slaves to the state for a time. But ask any slave from the African slave in America, to oppressed political slave in the former Soviet Union. In the end the forces of oppressions will always fail through  the wight of their own victories. This is sad, tragic but it is also true time and time again.

Being American means nothing today. But being a child of liberty, even a sullied dirty, hungry child still means everything! This I Believe. This is my creed!

The reality is that moral liberals (and I differentiate from simply the political liberal) can never be happy even with victory because their whole moral foundation is based illusions so the only thing can know how to do is to attack. This is why in the end no matter how much they win, they lose.

Lets be clear on this. What did Obama win? A failing economy. High unemployment after 4 years of promises, taxes out of control, an electorate that will demand the handouts that the government cant afford to provide?

Obama won no doubt but such a victory always leads to tragic defeats. In 2008 the people were deluded this time around that delusions will have real consequences and no one to blame but the man they chose to follow. And lets be honest with ourselves. Obama managed a slight victory last night against an opponent that no one in America, including his own party really liked.  That is like winning a popularity contest against a the town idiot.

 In 2008 we only surmised what Obama would be all about. In 2012, we know! He will now literally rule unleashed, unfettered by fear of losing the next election. Is there any good that comes from this? Not for the American people but for America’s allies, the realization is there to put daylight between themselves and an out-of-control U.S. Canada, my country, will establish trade relations in new directions beginning with India. Israel will take the initiative called for in the prophecies of Isaiah and rely solely on itself for defense. Britain will likely leap out of the EU and perhaps there will be a concrete reaction in Europe to Islamic immigration. Unfortunately, the U.S. has taken on a new role in the world: America has become the problem rather than the solution.

Just last night, both candidates urged the American public to join together in our efforts to work with one another in solving our nations many problems.

One of the telling results of last nights election was something that goes against the grain of most traditional thinking Americans, nor does it bring us together as a people, but only further separates us. Will this bring our nation closer together, or will it have the opposite effect?

• Fiscal cliff is coming up in December, so he’ll have to get real moderate, real quick to sport any positive action, and I think that he will, now that reality has set in.

• Excuses are over.  No more Bush to hold accountable moving forward.

• The media will stop being a campaign syndicate and do their job again.

• (one for Glenn)  the world is a whole lot more familiar with Mormons now and generally have a more accepting view of them – even the evangelists!

• Obama will face the “fruits” of his healthcare reform as president of the United States..  He gets to “own” it and answer for its shortcomings.

• The nation will be unable to pin the failings of Obama’s policies on Mitt Romney, or Republican economics.

I pray for the success of this presidency and our great nation, but with Obama reelected, he and his party will no longer have anyone to blame but themselves.

Hello there fellow Americans!   In cast you were not aware, last night over 50 million people decided we are now the USS Titanic (formerly USA).   THere was not one single positive thing the captain had going for him, and THE USA as a country was heading straight for the iceberg. It did NOT take a seasoned seafaring captain to notice or understand the iceberg.   50 million of your fellow countrymen voted to stay the course, let the captain keep going.

Our founding fathers realized that once our people lost that moral code, our nation would eventually collapse. I’m middle class, the one’s that the administration claims to be helping.  Well, my husbands healthcare just went up for next year.  And go figure we had to make our deciion BEFORE the election.  We’re paying twice as much.  If the tax cuts are allowed to expire on Dec. 31st then our family will be hit with at least $2500 more in taxes next year (by the way we make less than $90,000 a year).  Progress energy is asking the utilities commission to increase our rates, gas WILL go up after it’s MAGICALLY gone down the last 3 weeks, my food cost are going up.  I’M THE MIDDLE CLASS and I have no idea how we’re going to make ends meet next year.  Christmas will be minimal this year…and there will be no spending on luxury things like eating out once a week.  The people in the crowd during the POTUS speech last night were cheering for higher taxes, for less freedom, internet sensorship (yes, that’s on the table in 1 week people), 2 week waits to see a doctor.  What a bunch of morons!  Can they really be that naive and gullible?  Scary.

Obama won most of the battle ground states, even ones with mostly white guy majorities.  The election and exit polls reveal that most people think:
1) Economy improved.  It went from loosing a massive amount of jobs when Obama took office to gaining millions. Housing prices and unemployment imrpoving slowly, but in the right direction.
2) People thinks Obama saved millions of jobs with auto industry financing.
3) People don’t want Obamacare repealed.
4) People think congress is unreasonable.

These are statistical facts. Republican attitudes may be popular, but not moderate enough.  Exit polls showed most moderate voters voted for Obama.  Time to comprimise, Congress.

It’s very obvious to me, as a Canadian, that successive generations of idiot Democrat AND Republican politicians, and the American public as a whole, have built a debt hole that is astronomically deep. The reason is that generally, Americans REFUSE TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY BOUGHT. They all bought a military industrial complex courtesy of the FED, that will put them in hock for the rest of eternity. Obama, Romney or an autistic gorilla. Spot the difference if you can. I can’t from north the of the border.

This is good advice. It is exactly what I did for the first 6 months of Obama’s first term. I didn’t watch the inauguration and I refused to watch his speeches; but it became necessary after a while to know what he was doing, and ever since then, I have followed it with religiosity in order to educate myself on what was happening. I’m glad I did although it has sometimes been very painful to watch.
I have already vowed to take all the news channels except FOX off my remote dialers so they will skip right past them. I have forced myself to watch CNN & MSNBC because I felt I needed to know what the opposition was saying and plotting, but now I am so heartbroken – I am surprised at how frightened and unsettled I feel, like all hope has dissipated.

The future of America is young, diverse in all aspects of their lives and take the long view. We have a long road ahead of us to recovery but that has been the case for a while now – noone expected Obama to fix anything in four years. For the Republicans – if you want  to win in 2016 – stop getting involved in American’s family lives (socially), stop pushing war and focus on more on cutting spending. That is how you will win.

I’m glad you think there’s value in my advice, but I think you missed the main point.  That you would tune your television to only stop on FOX News clinches it:  it’s lack of diversity of info sources that makes you angry.  I’m suggesting the opposite:  tune out all news, or FOX News or GBTV specifically if it’s what’s making you angry.  If CNN makes you angry, it’s because your worldview conflicts with CNN.  Perhaps your worldview has narrowed by only getting your information from FOX.

After listening to a spokesperson for the Tea Party blame Romney for not winning, I will not support the Tea Party any more. To condemn a good man just because there is not enough good people in America is an IGNORANT STATEMENT.  It is simple an ignorant statement. Why not blame God for not forcing people to make the right choices, why not blame Jesus Christ for not making people make the wrong choices. Very interesting result.  The vast majority of US ex-pats working here voted for Obama.  I think that’s basically because they understand how the REST OF THE WORLD operates and they have seen it first hand.  And it’s nothing like what your media portray it as.

Forgiven… and thanks for defending me Dawn. I guess you post to these sites more than I do. I am just out of sorts today and came to see what Glenn Beck was saying about it. Your comment about turning the news off is exactly what I was thinking about doing and I was surprised to see someone else considering the same thing.
I rambled off onto something else that has been bothering me that was unrelated with absolutely no thoughts whatsoever about race, when you made such an outlandish accusation. I don’t like for anyone to play that stupid race game, no matter who they are and if you knew how many black Christian brothers and sisters I have (none of whom voted for Obama, BTW) as close friends, you wouldn’t have taken that tack.
As for Chris Matthews – Ironically, watching Hardball is how I came to justify and consolidate my political views back in the 1990s. I have always been Republican but not necessarily Conservative since when I was younger, I had some more liberal social views. I would never have voted Democratic for social issues, but listening to hardball discussions helped me to better understand the two philosophies. I saw that there is a bigger picture at stake and you have to stand for something if not everything. He is entitled to his views and he has the platform for it, but he has gone so nasty and irrational, I find him despicable as a so-called newsman.

Everything will be OK. Really. It’s just politics. What moves this country are the people, not politicians. There are larger, lasting forces, cycles of up and down, of decay and resurrection. The Sun rises, the sky above the cloud is blue, and the world is beautiful, ancient, eternal and good. Unplug, put on a warm coat, go outside and breath in the air. And don’t give in to either hate or fear. Everything will be OK.

This is EXACTLY why he won again. We have raised a generation that knows nothing about responsibility for themselves, accountability for their actions. They feel entitled to all that is owned by others, without the need to earn it, and have learned the blame game very well. NObama has fed that mentality since day one, and they will support him all the way to hell.

I don’t know how I feel today. Frustrated, angry, tremendous fear for my country, all keep jostling for top position. I have to quit ‘feeling’ and start ‘doing,’ but just want to hide away and cry for a while. I know, no time for that, it’s just challenging to get past.

You will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to admit they voted for obama after this next 4 years as unemployment wil rise above 11% and folks will finally get to see what suffering is. The only way to fix this country is for the house of reps to give obama and the democrats everything they want, this way the media and obama have to take responsibility for their policies. If the house doesn’t we’ll just hear that republicans wouldn’t let obama fix it so stop saving people from themselves and let obama tear this country down then folks will finally get it but until everyone feels the pain nothing will change.

I would argue, that we have permitted it – and long before yesterdays election. The ignorance of Darwin has replaced the eternal wisdom found in scripture – at least with our school-children. One thing the election has exposed, was just how vulnerable and susceptible our children are- due to how long this fundamentally wrong knowledge has been passed off as good, and used as reliable teaching. So in that sense, we have been more than willing – even eager to permit it. Yes, God is still available to be sought after on a personal level. I disagree that he hasn’t abandoned us at least on the national level, for we have long abandoned him. BUT…on a personal level, he’s observing what we will do and it is an opportunity for individuals to do good. Don’t count on our people to change for good – if anything – our population will grow even further away from God.

I agree with you! We leave in a country were mediocrity replaces excellence! Look at the last republicans in power… George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Ashcroft, Condolezza etc. All thugs!!!

Well, Chris Matthew has been a newsman in the past working for newspapers, but let’s face it, his current job is different.  He, like Hannity, Beck, etc, is a talk show host for a partisan network.  But he and Bill O’Reilly actually have some qualifications the others don’t, including college degrees and experience/training in hard news.  They’re still partisans in their current jobs.

I think you’re missing my point MHJ, which is that people should take a break from distorted information sources that are doing nothing but stoking their fear and anger.  It’s like that negative person in your life that does nothing but cause you pain and suffering — out with the negativity and you’ll be in a better position to solve problems.  People also may realize that negativity was the main problem they had to begin with.

I make a challenge:  unplug from talk radio, Fox and GB etc for 30 days, and you will being to feel a lot less angry at life and your fellow Americans.  You can always tune back in after a break — these guys aren’t going anywhere, and neither is the Republic which is built to last.

1.  How has the economy improved? last months job losses were 330,000 which will be revised upwards as it always has. Please list some of the millions of jobs gained? 

2.  The auto industry (GM) went bankrupt.  The union jobs were saved but GM has failed to pay back all the government funds they were given in the bailout.  Ford took no money and they are doing gangbusters.  Obama had nothing to do with their recovery.

3.  A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds, too, that voters remain closely divided in their opinions of the law. (Obama care) Forty-five percent (45%) of Likely U.S. Voters have at least a somewhat favorable opinion, while 48% view it unfavorably. This includes 17% with a Very Favorable view of the law and 35% with a Very Unfavorable one.  

People are finding out “What’s in it” and they don’t like it.

4.  Congress can get things moving if Harry Reid (the Mormon) would stop blocking bills passed in the House of Representatives.  So far he’s been the party of no!
