I was going to an appt. downtown in Portland (why WHY do I live here??) yesterday and saw 2 twenty-somethings with longish hair that were obviously homeless, holding a sign that said “Obama promised Change. I lost my job and apartment. Please Help.” Something’s coming; I dno’t know what, but it can’t be good.

I am trying to find a forum where I can make my stand.  My heart is not full of hate.  I do not hate anybody or anything for we are ALL God’s creations.  As a warrior for God and as a person that is a patriot that loves this great country, I am going to begin my fight against ALL of the entitlements that are absolutely killing and destroying certain societies, and bringing our Country’s economic status to her knees.  Glen, (just a short story), and one I will use in me battle against the undeserved entitlements.  I, as a cop see person(s) obviously dealing drugs on a street corner.  I approach this group and I begin to lawfully pat-down all of the person(s) in the drug selling group.  They all run.  Thanks to setting up a tight perimeter in the area, all were apprehended.  Only, after we ran through back yards, having to dodge the pit bulls in some of the backyards, over and through bushes, and over fences.  After finally catching them, we then have to fight them in order to successfully place the cuffs on them.  All of this in between being cursed at and (of course) the repeated accusations of being racists because they was black.  While searching them, we find drugs (packaged to sale), guns, tasers, knives, brass knuckles, and drug paraphernalia.  While at the jail, and as I process all of them, I must ask the question – Do you work – and – where do you work.  100% …..  I say again for possible – 100% of all detainees report that they do not have a job because they ALL are receiving (SSI) disability checks (entitlements).  After describing (above) their abilities to run, jump, and fight, I can say without any reservations at all – that – these men are not disabled (AT ALL).  But, yet, they are selling drugs, and are able to run, jump, and fight.  I have kept meticulous records and a diary for the 18 years I was a Police Officer.  I have made over 150 arrest similar to the arrests described above.  Our of those 150 arrest, 100% ….. I say again …. 100% (ALL) reported that they was receiving disability entitlements.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.  I have hung up my badge because I am joining in the fights to put American back on track.  God bless you Glen, and God bless your family.  God bless this great nation – the United States of America.

this piece is actually really cool especially if evaluated from an arty history perspective. This really shows not just the way we tend to idolize Obama, but politicians in general and hold them up almost as magical messiahs who can fix everything and are in control of everything.
It would be really cool if that was the artist’s intent, and even if it was to make a Jesusish reference in a way as if to say Obama is going to save us, from a historical perspective it can still be analyzed to show our tendency to idolize and worship politicians, especially ones running for president.

I’ve seen a lot of tributes to Obama that truly disgust me, but this takes the cake. This makes me sick to my stomach. Unfortunately, “The One Who is The One” also sees himself as our Savior. I am becoming more afraid every day. I am 53 years old and I remember when America was truly a wonderful place to live. I miss my Country. God bless her. God please help us.

Correct.  One is protected by the First Amendment, as bad of a piece of art as it may be, the other is a violation of the separation between church and state.  However, that same “Jesus in a Manger” scene could be fine if it was displayed alongside of other religious symbols.  

Consider that such art is not foolish; it’s part of a dangerous political-religious cult which has a common theme in early Christian social turmoil, the Spanish Inquisition and the ignorance / violence of witch doctor and shaman beliefs. Those “give me money, give me drugs, give me my share” people who support Obama are true believers who will lash out, possibly violently, at anyone or any group the “denies” their Savior Obama and his righteous cause. Consider also that any cuts in Federal spending will prod these “believers” into violence against those that they perceive to be the enemies of their cause by being economically successful.  Illogical, inane and ignorant, Yes indeed, but very dangerous. 

Other artists should do a similar depiction of Presidents’ Carter, Bush and Clinton. Perhaps the true silliness of this type of mania will bleed through our consiciousness.

My education was in Conceptual Fine Art and here is how we would break down the visual image.
First what are the denotations in the image.(that would be the bare bone basics). 
A) a man of color, wearing a suit and tie, a curtain, the united states president seal and the light blue background behind the seal.Now the connotations: His head is hanging down to the side(like Jesus), a crown of thorns is on his head,(like Jesus). He appears younger with blacker and slightly thicker hair(Jesus was 33 when he was crucified on the cross.) His arms are in the position of those that would be nailed to a cross.(like Jesus) The presidential seal can connote as a halo. The light blue connotes bright light. The Red tie and the red lining of his jacket connotes blood.I am not making this stuff up or am I just seeing this image through my subjectivity. Art school teaches formulas of creating images to manipulate or further ones agenda. I have been there and have done it myself. I know, and it is taught blatantly to discredit traditional morals.

There is no law concerning his video that the Obama “regime” could possibly arrest him by, never mind convict him of violating. The regime did not arrest him, nor did the regime send him to prison. All the regime did was take advantage of the fact that he was under arrest by local authorities for violation of his probation, and use it (or the media used it) for publicity in a lame attempt to make the public think that they were doing something about it, when in fact they did not and could not.

He experienced the second death on the cross. On the cross it was ALL finished. Jesus said so – with thousands of witnesses. There was no need to descend into some “hell” to accomplish anything else. If you want to say that he experienced hell, which is the second death, while he was on the cross, the I can agree that he was in “hell”. And by the way, Jesus did love his enemies. The ones that crucified him. The ones that delivered him to be crucified. (That would be the nation of Israel). And where did I say that God was kind to sin???? Talk about distortion! Well, like I said in my post, I respect the First Amendment. Why am I being an “un American Fascist” by exercising my right to free speech? You say what you want, I say what I want. You think what you think, and I think what I think.

On your screen name alone, I assumed you wouldn’t make fun of or belittle the President. But, in my opinion, I don’t think you should try calling me out when you yourself are guilty of making fun of someone else on this very comment thread. Do your comments “Mitt Robme” and “Glenda,” referring to Romney and Glenn respectively, ring any bells? [For reference see Ruthie Langston Terry and Anne Summerfield Newman's comments, and Repugnatcant's replies to said comments]. 
And besides, I didn’t try and make fun of or belittle the President. I didn’t try to make fun of him by using his name like you did with Romney and Glenn, nor did I try to insult him. If anything, my comments weren’t even directed toward him. 

Finally, when I was referring to left, I was intending for the readers of my comment to understand that I was referring to the reactions. It seemed hypocritical to me that people would cry foul over nativity scenes and references to God (and more recently, Glenn putting Obama in a jar of liquid), but turn a blind eye to a painting that appeared to have a religious element and to compare/elevate Obama to a Christ-like level. This is my opinion, no need to attack me on it.

I can tell you as an artist with conservative views that I don’t believe conservative artists are afforded the same treatment as artists with liberal/progressive viewpoints.  I cannot prove this – and my art is not political in nature – but our very liberal media here seems to choose promoting anything and anybody who holds liberal views over those who don’t.  Hence their choice to ignore me and other conservative artists for media coverage.  No matter – I continue to produce and sell my work with or without their assistance!

Another poster that I am apparently NOT allowed to respond to, posted that we should love and forgive Obama like anyone else.  He/She fumed when he was accused of distorting the Bible.  However, indeed we MUST make exceptions.  There are lists of people that we cannot pray for and that would go without saying.  “There is a sin that leads to death… I do not as that you pray for (this)…”, people: Satan, the dead, the Beast, False Prophet and the anti-Christ.  If God wanted us to think that everyone is saved or might be (see 1 John and from Revelation 21+) then why would He have given us those passages, said the way was broad and MANY there be that follow it, Hebrews 6 and various passages (such as 2 John and 3 John which instruct us to treat PRETEND Christians like Obama in a distinctly UN loving manner)?  The Bible is not a smorgasbord.  AS A RULE one must love ones PERSONAL enemies but there are those who SHOULD be tossed out of windows and eaten by dogs.

Christians are NOT non-violent pacifists.  Christ was very specific about who we should love and forgive (usually other Christians) with LIMITED forgiveness for non-Christians, usually to give temporary assistance, laced with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The ALWAYS forgiving for ALL transgressions was STRICTLY limited to Christians (the 70×7 rule was clearly listed as for BROTHERS (spiritual relatives of Jesus)..  ChRIST NEVER (read my lips) prescribes unlimited forgiveness for God-haters (otherwise no one would go to Hell.  Think about it, PLEASE.).
