Hollywood star: Where were the Democrats?

John Cusack is well known in Hollywood circles as a flaming progressive. He was up in arms on Twitter yesterday, wondering why only 1 democrat chose to stand up to the oh-so controversial ‘hey the President shouldn’t have the right to kill American citizens on U.S. soil with drone strikes’ stance.

The actor tweeted:

“I don’t think John Cusack and I agree on anything,” Glenn said. “We agree on this.”

“I think they are afraid of the president. I really do. The machine that has been assembled,” he continued.

Glenn said that he would like to have Senator Wyden in Oregon onto the show as he was the only Democrat willing to support the filibuster.

    Where are the Democrats?

Cowering away in a corner or under their beds.

They know the threats of Reid and the clear and present danger of Obama – a pathological narcissist, liar, sociopath and murderer in addition to being a traitor.

The fear they have is not just the threat of them losing office, position and benefits; they fear the very real risk to themselves and their families from Obama, the one who will not hesitate to crush anyone who stands in his way or dares to not tow the party line 100%

It only remains to be seen who Obama will turn on first, the Democrats or the Republicans when he goes for broke and unleashes an orgy of blood.

  • landofaahs

As long as it’s obama killing people, well, that’s…progressive.  Don’t worry, when a Republican gets back into office it will suddenly be draconian and just fresh on the scene violation of the constitution.  You should know why since you are a democrat Cusack.  It’s not like it’s anything new,

If you go to hell and try to be Satan’s best friend, you’re still going to burn.

  • Anonymous

The democrats aren’t like the GOP. When possible, we back our own…we don’t turn on each other in a cannibalistic frenzy.

Because even when our guy is wrong…he’s not as wrong as you.

  • Anonymous

What the hell are you talking about?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8jDkOHp3U&feature=youtu.be Sam Fisher

So you’re saying liberals have no back bone at all? Yup we already knew that.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8jDkOHp3U&feature=youtu.be Sam Fisher

When do they ever make any bit of sense?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8jDkOHp3U&feature=youtu.be Sam Fisher

They are spineless didn’t you notice that before?

  • Anonymous

Must be frustrating for you, then…
to constantly be beaten by a team that has no backbone.

  • Anonymous

    Possibly spineless, yes…

    Then again:
Obama introduces ObamaCare and we see the majority of the nation is against it. Did he back down? No. And now it’s the law of the land.
Gay marriage was shot down by the voters 32 times. THIRTY– TWO TIMES! Did the liberals “get the message” and drop the issue? No. And this last election three states voted to approve it.
The democrats took a “shellacking” in the 2010 midterms. Did they ponder moving to the center, inching to the right? No. They doubled down and won in 2012.

For decades the secular progressives were vastly outnumbered in this country…the “Moral Majority” had us outnumbered ten to one…Despite that, the left has consistently been able to exert a power that far exceeds their numbers and steer this country leftward.

So…spineless? If it makes you feel good to say, then say it. But they’ve had a strong enough back to carry this country to where they wanted to take it.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8jDkOHp3U&feature=youtu.be Sam Fisher

So not doing the will of the American people you know the job he was elected to do is your proof of liberals having a spine? Gee if this was any other job he would have been caned by now.

  • Anonymous

Well, that’s the difference between the right and the left.
Your side is more likely to see the government as the enemy…as a threat to your freedom…And I’m more likely to see the ignorance of the masses as the enemy and the threat to my freedom.  And the government…sometimes it can be my shield, sometimes my sword. Situation dictates.

But even when Bush was president I never saw the government as my enemy. At that point it was just a broken tool that needed replacing. A plow that was too dull to till the field…

@ edtoohey…..You, son, are on drugs. Seek help. While you’re at it…….since you so gleefully clap and pee yourself as your Dimocrats unravel our Constitution, how’s about moving to, say, a true Worker’s Paradise like North Korea? I mean, that’s what you want, clearly. Don’t deny it, you sniveling little slug.

    Cusack… looks like he’s 14; thinks like he’s 14 .

Rats and snakes have no spines……

  • Elizabeth Bracy

I really think this hit the low-info voters and Obama-robots over the head like a 2 by 4. Rand brilliantly chose a non-partisan issue to spotlight the overreach and outright tyranny of this administration. Think about it, if he had chosen voter ID, abortion, immigration, balanced budget, etc it could have been ignored and/or spun by the MSM into more “evil Tea Party antics”. By shoving drones back in Obama’s face, he found common ground for pretty much everybody (I mean, even Van Jones, people!) to agree on. Barry Soetoro, you’ve been put on notice that we the people aren’t taking it anymore.

Remove the FRAUD and obambam wouldn’t be president!!!!!

    Actually they do.
Both those animal species are vertebrates. Now, worms and jellyfish are invertebrates….no spine.

This zoology class brought to you by a democrat, the party of science. :)

  • Anonymous

I wonder what the Democrats would think if republicans decided it was alright to kill people with drones they disagreed with in this country, Obama and his Administration I understand would like to wipe out all opposition

  • Anonymous

Sure, blame it all on fraud.
The fact that democrats won the senate, the popular vote for the House, and gay marriage in three states, pot legalization in two states…
The fact that the GOP nominee for president has won the popular vote only once in the last TWENTY-FOUR years…
The fact that the GOP currently has an approval rating in the dumps…
Don’t believe the reports about the demographics of the country changing. Don’t believe any of the polls that tell you things you don’t want to hear…

Blame it all on fraud. It’s not REAL is it? Surely America hasn’t changed. Surely not. Surely, it’s still the America of the 1950′s that you grew up in…
    Right?

  • sparducks

Wow thanks for the biology lesson. I guess you think there are no scientists in conservative circles. I almost wanna spar with you but I think I find you boring.

  • sparducks

Could you imagine John Ascroft being grilled by Hillary, Tom Daschle, and the like if Bush had tried this crap.

  • Anonymous

Like I said FRAUD!!  When you have more takers than makers the country will fall and we can blame obambam.

  • SargintRock

This is not a right or left issue. It is a right or wrong issue. Nice to se who is glaringly Wrong on this matter!

  • Anonymous

Well, according to one poll, 6 percent of scientists identify themselves as republican, 32 percent as independent, 55 percent as democrat, and the rest gave no political affiliation.

Course you guys typically don’t believe in polls, either….

Now, a story about a virgin giving birth to a man who would later rise from the dead—THERE’S something you can guys can rally around and believe in!
    Hallelujah!!

All those in Washington need to read this.   Rand Paul is standing up for the greater good.  He is standing up for freedom.  Freedom for everyone.  Now I know what the left will do.  They are gonna ask him what his views are on gay marriage.  I would say to that is this.  I believe that marriage is a sacred moment that has been around for centuries and it involves a man and woman.  Having said that as President of the United States I will not impose my views on states rights.  The states should have the right to determine what is law not a President.  And when it comes to taxes I would say a flat tax needs to happen.  What states do is up to them!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OHOK3XPCXDN4MUHALYYD76BHHE Harry

I wish that were true. I live in CA, where we clearly voted NO on prop 8, to redefine marriage from between a man and a woman. The damn progressives then proceeded to take it to court to make a federal case of it, literally! Stole the right of the vote of the people in this state! It still lights my fuse when I think about it! The black community here did NOT want Prop 8, so I say that these progressives who did this are RACIST!

  • landofaahs

Yes..They would be called Nazi’s by the left. But when the left does it, it’s because….they care and it’s for your own good you sheep.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8jDkOHp3U&feature=youtu.be Sam Fisher

I see government as the enemy when they take freedom from the people. You know like disarm us every time some nut shoots up a place instead of looking into mental health you liberals blame guns and not the failure of a mental health system that we have. Your liberals take freedom from us even the freedom for us to eat whatever the hell we want. Like Michel Bloomberg for one and others. See people like you choose to ignore when the Constitution is burning for the sake of having a happy party. It reminds me of Nazi Germany. Their where Pastors that didn’t like Hitler but thought as you do our leader looks reasonable let’s just give him what he wants. He may be willing to take the Arian paragraph away if we ask him nicely in a meeting. Look what happen to them liberal. Six million people died because of your way of thinking. When are you going to do something when they start rounding up people who disagree with him or when they start rounding up some of your own people with the back bone to stand up against injustice when they had a chance? Your party is nothing but a bunch of moral cowards.

  • sparducks

    Amen to that.

  • William Stone

    ed,
I think you have it wrong. It is not that those on the right see the government as the enemy, it is that the government that was created to unite the states for the protection of this country has changed into something that attempts to manipulate and control every aspect of our lives. The power that was once left up to the states and local people to decide what was best for their needs has now been stolen by the Federal level and used as tools of control. Sadly this has been carried out by both sides and needs to stop now.

Your approach is evidence of the greater problem in this country. You state “I’m more likely to see the ignorance of the masses as the enemy” and then go on to state that the “Government….can be my shield, sometimes my sword”. There is never, ever a time on a personal level (vs global)when the government should be used as any ones sword and for that matter I question the need for it as a shield in personal (vs business/national) life. When the use of government changes from a central body that oversees community/country functions into something that is used to further an agenda it has become broke and needs to corrected/fixed immediately before the anomaly becomes acceptable. What we are dealing with today is a result of a broken government allowing to operate status quo and never be corrected and now it has become an accepted anomaly.

While you claim it was a broken tool, I feel from your writings that your desire is not to restore it to the original intent but rather to a personal/corporate agenda. That is where you and those who think like you and the the libertarian/tea party right differ and what is the biggest cause of impasse between the two.

  • William Stone

    ed,
The problem is not that the polls are not believed it is that the results and the use are questioned. There is a huge difference between asking the following questions.

With what political party are you registered?

Are your values liberal or conservative or other and would you vote that way?

then there is the ever tricky question like

Would you vote for candidate x again?

My point is that polls and there results can be skewed by the question and the use of the results. At best polls are only a tool to gauge current trends and should never be used as a basis of absolute fact or the cause for changing policy.

  • Anonymous

The policies in question were all approved by Congress during the Bush Administration, you know that don’t you? Didn’t really hear much from this crowd back then, when Bush was murdering hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and holding US citizens without trial, and now all of a sudden, it’s all a big issue with you hypocrites. Where were you when little kids were getting murdered by Beck’s hero Bush? Beck cheered the Patriot Act, and attacked the Democrats every chance he could, and his yapping little leash dog Pat Gray was on Houston radio screaming that Dr. Paul was “crazy”.  Now all of a sudden, everything changes, well, because his Internet media and his radio program’s ratings are all going down the toilet as he stabs the Republican Party in the Beck, I mean back. You people are the most confused people on the planet right now.

No, they pretty much don’t give a shit, just more weird hysteria from Kookland.

  • Anonymous

No, they asked the government to stop you fascists from denying the same rights you have to a group of people you don’t like because you’ve got some problem with where they stick their sex organs. They only thing they “stole” is the right to pursuit of happiness, a right you fucking Sex Nazis and religious kooks think you can take away from people in the voting booth. Well, you can’t you fucking fascist, any more than you can vote away any other right a person has.  There is nothing in the US Constitution, not one word, that says anything about some “sacred marriage”. Before the law, marriage is nothing more than a contract between two adults to form a family. And we are ALL EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW. Thank God we have courts to stop you goose stepping shit bags.

How’d that disbelief in polls work out for you in the last election?

  • Anonymous

How about you go fuck yourself?

#1.)  The policies approved by the Bush Administration were reserved and restricted to enemy combatants involved in combat operations overseas.  The whole point of Pauls 13 hour tyrade was the fact that the Obama Administration had “removed all geographical restrictions” and pointedly and repeatedly refused to rule out the possibility of  using drone strikes to assasinate American Citizens on American soil, without a trial, without judicial review, without legal representation, without even a charge.  Nothing like this was ever even contemplated under G. Bush.

#2.)  Re:  “Holding US Citizens without trial.”  Really?  Exactly who?  Be specific now….

#3.)  Nobody from the conservative movement was cheering the Patriot Act.  Only estalishment Republicans and the tyrannical liberal left…

It is indeed a sad statement that only one Democrat had the courage to stand against this. This is not John Kennedys party anymore.

My my, you are an excitable boy.  Perhaps you should take the ‘blue pill’. I do believe no one has a ‘right’ to marry.  As you said, it is not in the “fucking” Constitution.  If we did have a right to marry, then perhaps you could marry that cute little mare you have been longingly looking at.

  • Anonymous

Guess you speak from experience on that one, huh??

  • landofaahs

There is a difference when we are talking about the overseas battle field and citizens here at home.  Also, who did we declare war on? Was it muslim extremists?  If so, then only muslims should be droned.  Until war is declared on a group, they should not be targeted by a little dick tater obama who would take out HIS personal enemies.

  • landofaahs

Hey fool.  You say people are “born that way”.  I never saw a person born with their sex organ placed up their you know what.  So if people hate certain groups, then by your standard, they can just say “I was born that way to hate you people”.

“Your party is nothing but a bunch of moral cowards.”

Then all you have to do is give us something to be scared of.
That’s how you beat cowards, isn’t it? You stand them down. You challenge them.

    So…show us your muscles, studpuppy.

Yeah, apparently, the GOP buys into that way of thinking.

Uhm, I hate to break this fact to you, but Bush did NOT murder little kids.  ISLAMIC TERRORISTS did.  And holding US citizens without trial?  Really?  Really?  Really?  From what I saw, the Bush administration was holding KNOWN ISLAMIC TERRORISTS, not US citizens.  Try again, cretin.

  • Anonymous

LOL  Who are you calling a fascist, you fascist cretin you.  Look up the word hypocrisy.  Your post here fits the definition perfectly.  We are denying NO rights whatsoever to a group of people.  You do know what CIVIL UNIONS are, don’t you?  NOT ONE SINGLE RIGHT WAS DENIED TO HOMOSEXUALS BY CONSERVATIVES, NOT ONE.  Documented fact there, cretin, so live with it.

Now, take you fascist ideas back to where they belong, the garbage.

Hate to break it to you, but the idiot Democrats have an approval rating in the dumps too, lol.  If not for fraud on Obama’s part, there was documented fraud in Ohio and Florida after all, Republicans would have won the last election.

The first mistake the celebrities made was to think Obama was a sweet, fun liberal who cared about the earth and people. Hitler had many people fooled by his speeches (even America) to give everyone a home, car, plenty of money, and world peace. Behind the scenes, he and his men conducted “sterilizing, cleansing, and aborting the undesirable (in his eyes). If you know your history then you know the rest. But more important was the fact that no one was allowed to talk against him or do anything to right his wrongs or they would be tortured and killed (imagine if he had drones). This is just my opinion but I feel there are liberals, democrats, republicans, judges,as well as the media, threatened or bribed (as they were when voting on the obama-doesn’t-care package).                                                                                               Stand with Israel. They will get there land back and become the greatest Super Power in the world. Read: PSALM 83, the missing prophecy revealed.
