Adam Carolla slams Huffington Post in blistering rant

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

And it’s 100% true.

That’s right, Adam Carolla went off on mainstream media sources like the Huffington Post who have portrayed him as a racist for claiming that the socioeconomic issues plaguing the African American and Latino communities are rooted in the lack of a two-parent household.

In his original comments, Carolla said, “The family is the number one problem in the Black community. […] It’s simple. Fathers, stay at home, raise your family, do your homework with your kids, put an emphasis on education like the Jews, like the Asians, and let’s see what happens to the problem in 20 years.”

Huffington Post described the conversation as “hairy” and used the headline “Adam Carolla To Gavin Newsom: What’s Wrong With Blacks And Latinos?” to make it appear like Carolla was making a racially charged attack on the two groups.

Carolla responded the the article on Friday. He said:

Well, let me now take this moment to talk to all the [ BLEEP ] that are out there trying to stir things up and turn me into a racist. I got news for you. Me saying parents should stick around and raise their children, me saying families and cultures should focus on education is not radical or revolutionary. It’s the [ BLEEP ] truth. Now, you guys all want to line up behind cowards like Gavin Newsom and put your full support behind a guy who’s doing what? For whom? What is he doing? All Gavin Newsom is doing is telling us the system is broken. By the way, you are the system, Gavin Newsom! You and all your [ BLEEP ] people are one big system and it’s broken. It’s like the [ BLEEP ] crew chief saying, “No, no, it’s not the driver. It’s the car. The car’s broken.” Well, you’re the crew chief. Yeah, yeah, the car’s broken. Well, fix the car! It’s not the driver. Okay, it’s not the driver. Then it’s the system. You are the system, Gavin Newsom. Fix the system. But you won’t fix the system because you know what it takes to fix the system, and you’re a [ BLEEP ] coward. And guys like Huffington Post, you guys [ BLEEP ] line up behind these people. And let me tell you something. You guys all have blood on your hands because the problem could be fixed. It’s a problem. And it’s a problem that involves bodies. People die every year. There’s people getting shot. There’s brown people shooting other brown people on the streets of Chicago every [ BLEEP ] day of the week and you guys sit there silently. If it was the Sandy Hook situation or anything else, you’d be all up in arms, but you can’t say a word. So you sit there with your [ BLEEP ] coward hands over your [ BLEEP ] cowardly little soup coolers. And then when somebody has the guts to say something, to speak the truth for [ BLEEP ] one hot second, you jump up his ass and call him a racist. Thus you silent the media, now you perpetuate the problem.

“Absolutely true,” Glenn said. “And I find it refreshing and remarkable.”

He emphasizes the traditional two-parent household; and for this he is declared a racist and bigot. This is Standard Procedures for the Democrats and the left, demonize, marginalize and vilify anyone you can who refuses to sit down and shut up.

He has the right to say and express his own views, and in turn to tell the Huffington Post exactly what he feels about being deemed a racist by the left.

  • http://www.artinphoenix.com/gallery/grimm snowleopard (cat folk gallery)

One thing to understand, as the left grows more desperate, and Obama grows more insane, this kind of demonizing will grow worse and soon turn to physical intimidation and violence.

How do I say anything to top that? It how I feel about the media in general. I wonder what the morons at the huffington post feel about this rant?

    LOL!
He says the mainstream media has been quiet about the killings in Chicago…
CNN, especially Anderson Cooper, have done WEEK LONG specials on the killings in Chicago.
And the Huffington Post has covered it consistently. Here’s just a few examples:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/08/chicago-homicide-rate-alr_n_2433329.html

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-maranto/chicago-violence_b_2638791.html

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/30/chicago-homicides-january_n_2581915.html

Go to Google and put in “Huff Post Chicago murders” and you’ll find about FORTY stories Huff Post has done on the Chicago killings.

ABC, CBS, MSNBC, LA Tines, NY Times…all have covered it extensively. And a quick Google search will show that.

His language could have been cleaner and still made the same point…

“But if we are honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that what too many fathers also are is missing – missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.You and I know how true this is in the African-American community. We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled – doubled – since we were children. We know the statistics – that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and twenty times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home, or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.”

I have no problem with people slamming the Huff Post. It is without a doubt an EXTREMELY biased site. Worse, it is staffed with the most amateur of writers…

What I have a problem with is conservatives claiming they have any idea what the Huff Post covers or don’t cover. Conservatives, by their own admission, don’t hang out on the Huff Post, and rarely read it at all…
so how can you claim to know what it covers?

Oh, language!  You criticize first, and then you say you agree later.  I’m sorry, but you need to get past that, because believe it or not, like it or not, many of us God fearing folks have adopted much worse language than that since 2008…and I do mean regularly.  It’s kinda hard not to when you live in a place where you see the problem and you know the solution, but to suggest it makes you a social pariah.

Adam is a comedian, not a poet or a silver-tongued politician.  When someone has the balls to say what needs to be said (and at great risk to their personal safety, I might add), I don’t criticize their language or their accent, or anything else for that matter.  And guess what…PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO HIM.   He is pissed off and he let loose.  By the way, have you heard the mouths on the folks with whom is debating and/or referring?  This is CLEAN in comparison.I support free speech and I support saying whatever needs to be said, no matter  how it comes out.  Rush has been saying this stuff for years, but THIS guy has comedic clout and no shortage of ‘brown’ friends to attest to his equal opportunity critiquing style.
If it takes a few f-bombs to really grab someone’s attention, then so be it.  I’m glad he was lit up and spelled it out for everyone and God Bless him for his courage in this race-card happy USA we live in, thanks to Barry.

GREAT FIND!!!  Did you happen to check out the date of that speech?  6/2008.

You won’t catch him making that one now!   He used to put the blame squarely on the parents, or lack thereof.  Now, he blames Wall Street and the 1% for all the country’s problems and punishes accordingly (or, gives the appearance of punishing with one fist, and taking their donations with the other).  Fascinating…And they were calling Cheney the most polarizing politician of our time!  HA!

  • Eddie

Calling folks names is just a way to override guilt. Numbers don’t lie..people do…Is it racist that 70% of black kids don’t know who their daddy is ? Is it racist that 70% of all prison inmates are black ? Is it racist that 53% of black males don’t graduate from high school. Why is it always whitey’s fault ? It’s not. At some point people have to take responsibility for their actions. If I get as bad grade in school how is that a black persons fault ? If I rob a bank how is that a black persons fault ? People who can only find excuses are seldom good for anything else !

  • Richard Brophy

That’s all the Huffington Post does, huff and puff out slanderous, misdirecting aspersions at anyone who opposes their agenda. Kudos to Adam Carolla for giving them a piece of his mind! I just wish ANYONE who gets targeted for this PC stuff would do the same! I am harboring deep grudges towards NBC, CNN, ABC, and CBS for failing to be our safeguard. Because they won’t report the truth about the golfer clown in the White House, most of the Americans are oblivious to what’s really going on. Someday, when Obama gets brought to justice for his unconstitutional mandates and actions, the media should be tried next, shut down if necessary for aiding and abetting treason!

  • Loren Wright

Unfortunately “conservatives” are not typically as demonstrative as Corolla, because, after all, they are, “conservative”.  But this works to their disadvantage, because while the progressives are lying about conservatives, scheming against them, and misdirecting the public and defaming anyone who disagrees with them, the conservatives think, “Gee, that’s not true”, but what-ever, I don’t want to be rude to them because being rude is not nice.” Mean while, based on the theory of “truth by repetition”, serious damage is done to the public’s view of conservatives and conservative ideas due to unanswered lies.  Folks, I am afraid that it is time that the conservatives stop being so conservative.  We still must be peaceful, but when we hear a lie we have to call the speaker a liar, plain and simple.  I have heard conservative talk show guests say ” Oh, I don’t want to say the “L” word but his statement was very disingenuous!”  Of course disingenuous is a word politicians use to describe it when someone lies.  Finally Corolla calls a liar a liar. It’s about bloody time! Let’s keep it simple and direct folks.  Time to put on some thinner boxing gloves.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Scott-Todd/1424651317 Scott Todd

It’s not that they’re not reporting the what, but that they’re overlooking the why and what could truly reverse it.  They’re boot-lickers for the very lefties who blame everyone and everything else other than their own policies for the misery they’ve created.  That’s what has Adam Carolla ticked off.

  • Anonymous

I can see why Corolla is so angry. An analogous thing happened to me, way back in 1987. I worked in a SF bay area company (manufacturing) where my desk was in an “open” office, that is, a bunch of desks in a large room…no cubicles, no doors, no separation, somewhat Kafkaesque, actually. I had just read an article in the SF Chronicle about ‘minority’ education, blacks and Hispanics, how poorly they do academically. I made some comments about it to one of my cell (office-) mate friends…I may have even said something about single-parenthood, etc., as I am wont to do. (By the way, my cell mate was white, I am a “person of color” to give you some context.) There was no angry tone, no racial epithets, nothing. Next thing I know, I’m in my boss’s office and he’s interrogating me about the racist things I said. I found out later that our new secretary–half black, half Hispanic–was offended by the mere fact that I was talking about this article! Eventually, I apologized to her for being “insensitive” and it troubled me that I had caused her feelings to be hurt.

Quite frankly, I don’t know why we put up with this kind of behavior anymore. Had I had more “huevos” back then, I might have gone into an f-bomb tirade like Adam did. I’m glad someone is sticking up for free speech and taking on these sanctimonious hypocrites.

The Huffington Post needs to remember that when you are pointing a finger at someone you have four pointing backwards.  Racist?  Get a dictionary, I don’t think the word means what you think it means.  Bad form Huffington Post.

  • Anonymous

Let’s use the standards given us by the Huff Po, shall we? This statement comes from the white side of BHO and is therefore racist, n’est pas? How can you believe a liar, anyway?

Black leaders have made these kinds of statements FOR YEARS. However, most of them have done nothing constructive to do anything about the problems. Even worse, statements like this are made to make white liberals part with their money to pay for ineffective social programs.

  • Danco30

It’s time to join forces.   While the moderates like McCain and Graham split the voting base, the conservatives and libertarians need to put petty differences aside and join forces.  We’ve witnessed the results as the Dems, Progressives, Antisemites and Socialists continue to laugh in our faces.

  • Anonymous

But then Obama backs gay marriage.  There are about 1 million children in this country who do not live with at least one of their parents as a direct result of either mommy or daddy divorcing the other parent to go be gay.  I just read today that there are a record 47.8 million people on food stamps now.  Don’t call daddy to come home and work and help out with the bills, tell him to stay where he is and pay his child support and f-ing like it!  You see Obama is good at pointing out a problem, and then DOING NOTHING TO SOLVE IT!  NOTHING!  A lot like Gavin Newsom.

Anyone else remember what happened to Bill Cosby a few years back?  He made a couple of speeches to African-American audiences, telling the parents to take responsibility for their kids, to get educations, to get off the drugs, to stop running around starting babies.  He was utterly excoriated.

  • Draxx

I agree with you on Freedom of Speech!  My point was more like Bill Cosby can make you laugh and keep it clean as opposed to Eddie Murphy (who can still make you laugh but every third word was the F-Bomb)…

Our problem is we have small men in this country. A man ducks out on his responsibilities…he leaves a woman and children to fend for themselves…
Well, our government is not going to stand by and let women and children starve, so the government steps in and tries to help out.

If we truly want smaller government, then we need bigger men. But you’re right—no one has the guts to stand up and say that.
The right would rather take shots at the single mother and the” welfare state”…and the left would rather take shots at the “system” or “racism”, etc…
But no one has the guts to stand up and say the truth–which is the American man is failing and has been for a long time.

So you’re saying the statements aren’t enough. Agreed. So what are your suggestions then to REALLY fix the problem?

I know what you mean. I’m to the left of Che Guevera but I’m on right wing sites everyday…and watch Fox News like crazy.
Lots of lefties do. That’s why when Rush Limbaugh calls a woman a “sl-t”, we’re on it within 24 hours. And half the clips shown on Colbert or Jon Stewerts show come from Fox News.

The right loves to claim that we on the left want to silence right wing media. The truth is we’ll never try and do so. It’s not enough for us to say the right is crazy or bigoted—we need the right to prove it. So rather than hand the right a muzzle, we’ll hand them a megaphone and ask them to say it again… LOUDER.

Strange, very strange.  Someone please explain to me how a group of people can vote for the very person that wishes to exterminate them.  The history of democrats/liberals/progressives is well written (by the liberals themselves). They seek openly to rid the USA of all blacks.  They feel the same about Latinos.  Just because BHO is black does not mean he loves blacks.  Quite the opposite.  He is a communist first and nothing comes in second.   Give the low IQ voters a check and they will fill the buses up to vote and on the way home abort themselves out of the history books.  Read Margaret Sanger.  Look at the writings of the current Dept of Education chief that BHO appointed.  A check in exchange for your extermination.  Works well.  Thjey have destroyed the black race in America and are working on the latinos in overdrive.  Check, spread legs, flush twice.  Fini!!

  • Steve Lopez

    Racism has
been an open wound in America for decades!
Our history on racism is a poor one.
Now with the first Black President it has become a “club” in the hands
of those that know its power.   Liberals
use it indiscriminately as a means to “neutralize” their opponents…as a means
to “slow down” anyone that thinks differently than they do.  To accuse someone of being a racist is the
new cry of “rape” or molestation.  The
person being accused has to stop and expend energy and time and emotional
currency in order to deflect the “stink” of the mud slung on them.

    They do not
need to have any proof of racism…just as long as they can spin whatever was
said or done.  All they need is the
smallest of inference.  The tiniest of
innuendo.  The “grayest” of coloring for
    them to cry “RACIST”!

    This
administration…the Democrats…have used this tactic to divide America and split
us “right down the middle”!  Good…well
meaning Americans have been given torches and have been asked to carry them
high (as a symbol of Unity and Illumination) only to find that in reality they
have become part of a mob heading towards the village to “clean out” those
    Racists!

    Folks…many
of you have been fooled!  Many of you
have been “sweet talked” into carrying a torch.
Stop and take a good hard look at the “side” you’ve taken.  Is it the “American Side”?

Snow, have you ever noticed that every time the conservatives, or even neutral/midline folk say anything against the radical left,< they bunch-up and bawl RACIIIIST  like a newly-neutered calf?  Its all part of the plan.  Because it follows the SAME system every time, I am firmly convinced that Libs/Lefties/Commies were told by a central figure how to act- how to respond to anything they do not like, and that is to:
First: toss some snyde personal insults and attacks at whomever they are 'taking on', and be vulgar enough that decent folk will merely leave the scene, preferring to not even be near the leftie, et al.
Second:  Whatever you do, do NOT engage in a respectful debate, because, honestly, the Conservatives are right, but their being right will NOT change to country to reflect the values of the Nation that originally threw the leftie out. Remind them they are trying to recreate their old country in America.  Make it feel more like home.
Third: attack their values, because Conservatives hold them dear, and if the Lib stirs  up enough fecal matter, the stink alone might drive some correct folk off.  This ultimately lowers the level of the playing field, and

So how do we make families stay together? How do we keep fathers from walking out on their families?

  • Anonymous

The solution was there from the beginning.  The beginning of time first off, but the beginning of the country to be more contemporary to our civil discourse here.  Barack Obama said a very nice thing that you had pasted up there.  The words therein had an eloquent thread to them.  But to credit those words to Barack Obama and his uberwise mind is to break one of Obama’s basic tenets which is, “You didn’t build that.” That’s a spin on something truly righteous like salvation for instance.  If you built a bridge, or a company, or built anything, you owe your virtue to the government that gave you the right to be an entrepreneur, an Obama thought.  There’s this other guy, God, who said, if you breathe, feel pain or pleasure, or however you act, I give you life and I give you love, and I even give you the choice of whether or not you want to believe in me.  Obama thinks he’s God and he thinks he’s our father.  Obama is okay with the dissolution of pride in our hard work and the family unit. God shames us for it.  They disagree on that one.  Whose your god?

He is passionate because he’s SICK OF IT! We’re all sick of hearing the race card when we disagree with a Liberal nutjob. Dr. Carson hit it on the head when he said that political correctness is killing us. Any black conservative will agree that the majority of the problem stems from a one-parent family where the father has no interraction whatsoever – he’s just a sperm donor and not even paying child support – the ‘system’ or ‘nanny state’ is doing that! Basically, as taxpayers, we are footing the bill! There was a time, in the not-too-distant past, when a black family would die of shame to have a child out of wedlock – not today, it’s the new norm! It makes a huge difference in a child’s life, black or white, if there is no father present or one even interested and in this day and age where contraception can be obtained at clinics, usually free, there is NO EXCUSE!

I am not sure Adam is correct here. I am not saying that Newsom is correct either. Consider this: Adam’s basic point is that the politicians are the ones to inform the African American community (or whatever community) that raising kids and parental involvement is the way to go. I agree that would help, at least today when overt racism has been significantly reduced. Why can’t others bear this message? If all it takes is information (“oh, by the way, if you stayed home with your kids, in 20 years all these problems would fixed”) then that information could come from whatever source.

I am raising the point that maybe it is not a lack of information that is the problem. Yes, the politicians should provide the correct information. Are the Republican politicians doing that? Information can come from a number of sources. Maybe the problem is not a lack of information.
