Piers Morgan vs. CONTROL

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

“Despite the gun debate being settled since 1791, the distortion about guns has reached an all‑time high in the media,” Glenn told listeners this morning.

CONTROL was released in bookstores nationwide today with the goal of setting the record straight on the Second Amendment and exposing the truth truth about guns. If you’re sick of watching Piers Morgan make the most ridiculous arguments against guns, while referring to them with made-up progressive terms like “military-style assault rifle,” this book is going to be your new best friend.

Piers Morgan loves touting f̶a̶c̶t̶s̶ myths like this on his CNN broadcast:

“You [the United States] have by far the worst rate of gun murder and gun crime of any of the civilized countries of this world.”

“This is a really interesting one because here’s what he says:  You have by far the worst rate of gun murder and gun crime of any civilized country in the world,” Glenn noted after hearing the clip.

He went on to debunk Piers claim by saying, “First of all, that’s not accurate.  Second let’s be clear, you know, lots of nations, including civilized ones, lots of nations including the civilized nations suffer from higher overall murder and gun murder rates than America.  In fact, in 2011 the U.S. murder rate was 4.7 per 100,000 people, and the gun murder rate was 3.2.  Much of Eastern Europe, much of Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Africa, all but one South American nation and all of Central America and Mexico suffer from a much higher murder rate than we do.”

Glenn went on to note that the “award” for the most gun violence goes to Honduras with 68.43 homicides by firearms per 100,000 people. A remarkably high number once you learn that there are only 6.2 firearms per 100 people in Honduras.

…okay, but America is WAY more wealthy than Honduras. So what Piers must have meant was that the United States has the most gun violence of the wealthy civilized countries, right?

“Staggeringly completely false,” Glenn said. “And you can find out why on Page 16 of the new book that is out now, CONTROL:  Exposing the Truth about Guns.”

Remember the favored motto of the Democratic Socialists: Facts do not matter, only the myths and lies they want to convince the masses for the achieving of their agenda.

LOL. You really are a one trick pony. What you have against that tiny group is beyond rational understanding. They are a small non-profit with no power at all. But you keep whining about them. It keeps you busy.

Why does Piers Morgan even try to sound smart? I hate to tell him it is a lost cause as soon as he opens his mouth.

I’m sorry (actually, no I’m not), what D_mn fool cares what PPiers Morgan says anyway. He’s just another one of the Lying, pardon me, Liberal Media!

If beck is allowed to pontificate, by conjecturing that HIS SOURCES tell him that there is a whole lot more to the Boston massacre story than others would like to believe, well Morgan likewise gets a pass to spout what he believes.

piers morgan is used to being controlled…after all he is a British SUBJECT…whereas WE are CITIZENS…the Brits are used to being ruled.

That’s some fairly dated thinking you’ve got going on there, Ginge…

The gun murder rate is a cherry picked statistic. Even still, we’re worse off than most comparable countries. (If you want to compare the US to Bolivia and Honduras, you have a pretty sad opinion of the US.)
And the better stat is gun death rates, because that includes accidents and suicides, and in that, we rule. 10.2.

    • Mike Nelson

There are no comparable countries that are more relevant than Australia, and your side doesn’t want to look at the situation there as if it is a precursor to implementation of the same policies here.

More important, inclusion of suicide stats in gun death rates, as if suicide is really a criminal act, is a measure of your sociopathic narcissism.  How dare you deny a person the right to choose to die, while you simultaneously trumpet your loud support for Obamacare and the death panels it brings!  If you support drug use and personal choice, then why not life and death?  And if you support death, why not support the fastest, least painful method?

How can you not see that this is you, *choosing* to meddle in the personal business and lives of others, using their personal business and tragedies to make your political points?  I believe the operative word here is “hubris”.

You may be a progressive, and even a collectivist, but there can be no doubt that a suicide is an intensely personal situation, and the act in no way involves the collective you advocate, save for the loss of a work unit.  If preservation of the work unit is really all you care about in your citation of the gun death rate, then you have made the best case I have ever seen against your own position being in the best interest of the 99%.

If you weren’t a “useful idiot” (per Lenin), and actually formed your own views, you’d see the vacillation of your positions is reflective of the Progressive movement at large, and illustrates the policy of groupthink; this is the opposite of critical thinking, which by its nature encourages problem solving, independence, and active success in tasks, relationships, and life at large.

WHY do you support gun control measures?
WHY do you include suicides with gun death rates?
WHY do you sanction the measure of determining for someone via medical board whether they can receive life-prolonging treatment – but not also condone suicide?
WHY do you support murder in the form of both death panels and abortion, but fail to support someone protecting their own life?

Until you can examine these issues and understand that they are bigger than you are able to solve – which leads to the realization that they are too big for the gov’t to solve – you are young and stupid, and unworthy of the respect you so crave from the people here, whose positions you claim to so detest.

You can generally place liberals into 2 categories.  (1) is mentally weak and insecure (2) Evil control freaks fearful of paying the price of their own stupidity.  There are variations but it holds true as a norm.

Very good! I love it! Mind if I quote you?

      • landofaahs

No I don’t. Most of my quotes come from an anonymous and local professor named Enil Selnad. He like me cares not who gets the credit.

          Thank you.

Vobis sunt arcata. In English instead of Latin; You’re welcome.

How do you figure meantally weak?  And control freaks how?

      • landofaahs

Mentally weak because they eat the liberal line and keep voting for the people who keep them on welfare and food stamps, never knowing what their true potential could be if given the chance to be forced by circumstance to improve their own lives.
Control freaks? You can’t be serious. Every law, rule and regulation is control on behavior and yet you libs can’t get enough of it. Gun control? Control of local schools which the feds have no damn business in? You are an idiot if you don’t think liberals love passing new regulations and laws. They all mean control. How do you make it in life? Welfare? Or are you a paid political Hack?

        • Sargonarhes

It is funny that you mention it that way. A while ago I realized liberals are always telling conservatives that you can’t legislate morality. Yet what are they doing? Make laws that force you to behave in a way that they think is moral.

So what they really mean is conservatives can’t legislate morality, only they can legislate their vision of it.

From what dictionery do you get your definition of “liberals”?    Limbaugh/Dole, second or first edition?    Try Webster’s.

      • landofaahs

LOL. From the same dictionary Bill Clinton got his definition of the word “IS”.
You liberals always accuse people of the very things you yourselves are guilty of. What hypocrites. I’d be a shamed to let anyone know I was a liberal or democrat.
By the way, where did Obama get his definition of 2nd amendments supporters as bitter clingers? UR idiot.
