There is no conclusive agreement regarding the ultimate amount the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) will cost the American people, but most estimates have it somewhere in the trillion dollar range. It’s a staggering number, especially when you consider the likelihood prices will skyrocket once the bulk of ObamaCare kicks in later this year and in the years to come.

But there is at least one person who still isn’t fazed by the massive price tag: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

“More money is needed, says Harry Reid. He shares his colleagues’ concerns now that the Affordable Care Act will become a train wreck if it’s not implemented properly,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Oh, gee. So in other words, what you’re saying is it’s going to cost more money than you thought it would.”

According to

Reid warned that people will not be able to choose health insurance plans on government health exchanges if federal authorities lack the resources to set them up and educate the public.

“Max said unless we implement this properly it’s going to be a train wreck, and I agree with him,” Reid said, echoing a warning delivered last month by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.).

“Well, you know what? Max and you should have gotten together and thought about this earlier,” Glenn said. “You should have listened to me on radio or on Fox. You should have listened to Sean [Hannity] or Rush [Limbaugh] or anybody else.”

“We called it a train wreck back then,” Pat said. “We told you.”

TheHill article goes on to say, “Reid warned the federal government is not spending enough money to implement the law because of Republican opposition to ObamaCare.”

Clearly, the ‘blame Republicans’ mantra is not lost on Sen. Reid.

“No, what they are doing now is they’re setting this up and saying, ‘We could have avoided this train wreck but it’s the evil Republicans,’ and the American people will believe it,” Glenn said. “I have truly given up on us really winning our country back. I just do not see a way that you’re going to be able to. I’m sorry.”

“Wow,” Pat responded in obvious surprise.

“I don’t see a way that you’re going to be able to put this thing back together,” Glenn continued. “I think you have to save the remnants. I think there’s a restart coming. And they know this. This is what they’re doing to the entire world. They are resetting the entire system of the world. They are bringing the power down slowly.”

Pat wasn’t quite so pessimistic. Though in light of the recent announcement that Sen. Baucus will not seek reelection in 2014, Pat couldn’t help but wonder if the ObamaCare fiasco played a role.

“I don’t know if it’s going to hell and we can’t save it. I still have a lot of hope that we can but I think this is one of the reasons,” Pat explained. “But to me this is one of the reasons Max Baucus is done. I think Max Baucus has done all the damage he can possibly do, he knows he screwed this thing up, and he’s getting out because he doesn’t want any more to do with it.”

“Oh, that’s good of him,” Glenn said wryly. “I appreciate that.”
