Ted Cruz: I don’t trust Republicans

Get Glenn Live! On TheBlaze TV

Ted Cruz has been declared enemy #1 by the left. Cruz recently had some harsh words for the establishment GOP, namely he said he doesn’t trust Republicans. That’s quite a statement for a sitting politician to make and shows Cruz is not afraid.

Cruz said:

The senior senator from Arizona urged this body to trust the Republicans. Let me be clear: I don’t trust the Republicans, and I don’t trust the Democrats, and I think a whole lot of Americans likewise don’t trust the Republicans and the Democrats because it is leadership in both parties that has gotten us in this mess.

You know, my wife and I have two little girls at home. They’re 5 and 2. When Caroline was born, our national debt was $10 trillion. Today it’s nearly $17 trillion. In her short five years of life, the national debt has grown by over 60%. Madam president, what we are doing to our kids and grandkids I think is immoral. Now, I commend the Democrats in this body for their candor. The Democrats and President Obama have been very explicit it is their intention to raise the debt ceiling and to do so with no conditions whatsoever, just to keep borrowing and borrowing and borrowing money without any structural reforms to fix the problems. That is an intellectually consistent position, I think it is a dangerous position but it is at least candid and that’s the reason why every day for 60 days the Democrats have opposed taking the debt ceiling off the table in this discussion. But unfortunately one of the reasons we got into this mess is because a lot of Republicans were complicit in this spending spree and that’s why so many Americans are disgusted with both sides of this house.

“Wow, is that great stuff,” Pat said, “And true, every word of it.  And who else will stand up and say that, and who else will stand up and take on their own party leadership is this who else will do an ‘in your face’ to John McCain?  They all cower in fear of him for whatever reason.  But Cruz stands up and puts him in his place:  ‘You told us to trust Republicans?  Well, I don’t. That’s fantastic.”

    really Ted?

where was your outrage when Rick Perry wasted millions of dollars while he and his wife rented a 10 thousand a month mansion in Texas, threw themselves lavished parties, all while Texas was facing a 11 billion dollar shortfall?

where was the Texas tea party outrage?

    where was yours?

spare us your fake outrage next time.  you’re just like the tea party and it’s members.

    you’re a hypocrite and a liar.

Really is that the best you can do. he said “But unfortunately one of the reasons we got into this mess is because a lot of Republicans were complicit in this spending spree and that’s why so many Americans are disgusted with both sides of this house.” But that is ok ignore facts like a good little Obama worshiper.

RICK PERRY, is obligated to host people from all over the united states.  business etc did you expect to do in a moble home? be serious.

    • greywolfrs

Seems like you speak from experience. You call his outrage fake, as Obamao has spent more than any other president.

Both sides have been taken over by progressives and there
    for they can’t be trusted.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rigoberto.serrano.39 Pachy Serrano

    C’mon Mr. Fisher:
U can’t win it all. Mr. Robinson has a point. Republicans can’t talk about the dept, because they were the ones who created the mess in the first place. How? By going into two wars on a credit card, medicare part-D on credit card, tax cuts for the wealthy for more than 10 years, and the list goes on and on. At least the Dems balanced the budget at one point and it was the last time we have had a balance budget, so I am like you but upside down, I DON’T TRUST CONSERVATIVES !! They always screwed things up because their priorities are not with the majority of Americans

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1366182093 Pope Tillie

have you-all been in a cave. wake up, democrats are slow learners but if you read  other than the bumper stickers you will learn a few things.

and finishing your sentence…”the priorities of Republicans are with the corporations.

Corporations that are destorying the planet we need for life.

      Glenn Beck is corporate shill.

      • greywolfrs

Hey, vicki tiffany the idiot chimes in. Yeah, those evil corporations who give people jobs, 401Ks and medical/dental benefits, they are SO evil. You are a dunce.

the dems balanced the budget? I think you better do a little more research before you make a fool out of yourself again. Have you heard of the contract with america? Your hero the rapist was dragged kicking and screaming  to comply with it!

    • http://www.facebook.com/john.jarrett.984 John Jarrett

The democrats didn’t balance the budget, if you remember the republicans controlled both congress and the senate. Clinton was forced into balancing the budget! Please don’t try and re write history.

This senate hasn’t passed a budget in how long?

    • greywolfrs

Hey stupid, it was the Conservatives in Congress who had a “projected” balanced budget. You complain about wars on a credit card, yet Obamao did not pull out of either war when he took office and, in fact, has us in MORE wars on a credit card. You complain about Medicare part D and Obamao put Obamaocare in on a credit card. Obamo has extended those SAME tax cuts, yet you are still complaining about Republicans. Sounds like yo are a complete hypocrite that doesn’t have the first clue about which you speak.

Go Ted…I don’t trust McCain or any of the establishment Republicans…they may as well be Democrats or Liberals or Leftists.  Keep up the fight.  You are abreath of fresh air in a stinky town.

    • Anonymous

They are, they are sure not Republicans anymore.  They need to retire and play some golf or swim or something.

      • jen

They have and are still hard-core republicans.  McCain and other estab folks like romney (the love of conservatives) and bush have always been the same and did the same – all with the approval of conservatives every step of the way.  You have no right to say they are not republicans anymore – infact they own the party.  You dont’ own it – you are a willing slave to it.

I voted for Mr. Cruz based on what he campaigned for: smaller, stricter, conservative, constitutional government.  I joined the Tea Party in 2010 and soon after other like groups that support my beliefs.  It seems the RhINOs are willing to sell their soul just “to get along”.  Well, for me, that isn’t good enough.  I will vote for him, again when the time comes.  The moderate RhINOs will become extinct and the Tea Party will become the standard.

    • Anonymous

Agreed, I voted for him as well!!!  I am really concerned about Marco Rubio seems like he is turning as well.  What’s up with that?

      • Anonymous

He is trying really, really hard to get his immigration bill passed. He has decided to play with the big boys and they are really using or manuevering him for their benefit. So the true Rubio is coming out.

      • Anonymous

Marco Rubio has joined the Democrats and the establishment Republicans.  He makes me sick.

        • jen

rubio has always been with dems/repubs – it is nothing recent but occurrred decades ago.

it should make you sick that you voted and supported for him as your own, and there will be another fraudster around the corner that conservatives will attach to again and again w/out fail.

          • Anonymous

I didn’t vote for him!  You know what assuming means, right?

    • jen

they haven’t sold their soul.  they are the same now as they were in the bush admin.  it is that conservatives will lie on behalf of repub estab, especially when they are in office.  they don’t go to get along, they make sure conservatives like you go along with them.

no chance for tea party – you have al ot of infiltrator scum like beck and rubio.

  • http://www.absoluteintensity.com dennis reilly

McCain, Boehner, Reid, Pelosi and the rest should slink away and pay back every American for years of deceit and greed at the expense of this country.

  • Anonymous

Obviously, the Republicans are the party who rely on the truth and use Good Ol’-Fashion  Commonsense, a necessary commodity absent among the goofy liberal liars.

    • greywolfrs

Well, I can point out plenty of lies from Republicans, Democraps do not have a monopoly in that area.

      • Anonymous

No doubt, my argument is – at least the Republicans could balance a budget. Liberalism, has allowed Democratic policy to run-a-muck. Today, you’re nobody, unless you are either an illegal alien, a transvestite, a global warmest etc. Whatever happened to God – Country – Family – they may as well be relics of the past.

        • greywolfrs

Not as long as there are people who still believe in those things…

          • Anonymous

I fear (and no thanks to the liberal educational system) that those who still believe “in those things” are greatly outnumbered by those who live from month to month on the growing dependance of government funding – otherwise known as handouts.

Love Ted Cruz!!Stand by him 1000%

  • Anonymous

Closet lefty republicans (McCain, graham, etc) are much more of a problem than the lefty democrats. The dems consistently do exactly what we expect them to do. Rino’s talk like conservatives but act like big government, big spending, big taxing libs.  It’s gotten so bad, that I say we need a “2nd party” (not a 3rd) because the establishment republicans act so much like their “esteemed colleagues” in the democratic party it has truly become a “1 party” political structure in D.C.  Mr. Cruz should be pushing for that.  Trying to rid corrupt D.C. of corrupt “establicans” is a fools errand and waste of time.

  • Anonymous

    Go Cruz!

  • Sapere Vedere

Since CPAC, Ted and Ben Carson have met on three separate occasions; one of which was also attended by a small group.  They sat behind a one-way mirror while the group discussed the issues in the country.  Ben & Ted hit it off at CPAC which was one of the first times they have had to every truly spend any time together talking.  I would not be surprised if Ted runs for President in 2016 and Dr.Ben Carson is his running-mate.  I would also look at them possibly not running on behalf of the Republican party but actually on a third party ticket.  Watch for this because of the 90 minutes the focus group spent being asked questions, many were centered around the idea of a “new party” or “names for a political party.”  Note:  It would not be called the “Independent” party as Ross Perot was a part of but rather something entirely new.  I’ll keep everyone posted as I get more information.

  • Anonymous

America has one party despite being led by republicans or democrats. That’s exactly why neither has been able to fix what the other left behind. Instead, the problems multiply by the incompetent successors.

Cruz is from Texas need I say more.  With the exception I am also, born and raised Texan.  Gosh,  we are such a great state.  I bet ya’ll wished you lived here – come on down.  Go Ted Cruz, I am behind you all the way and let’s not forget Gowdy either!!!

  • Jeff Noncent

it’s about time that someone stand for what is right I wish there are man and women that have guts like Ted Cruz did in the government

  • Anonymous

The Republican party has been fragmented for a long time.  But don’t kid yourself, unifying your position far right will get you worse results than you have.  The far right has great conviction and enthusiasm, but the majority of the country doesn’t feel the same way as reflected by the representatives we’ve voted in.

  • GNH

I pray to God often that Senator Ted Cruz maintains his true Statesman qualities. It is a shame that all of our political leaders are not as sensitive to what it means to be a true Statesman.

    Keep them jumping, Ted!

  • CharlyO

John McCain is the perfect reason why we need a third party. He is a burr under the Republican saddle along with at least 50 % of the rest of that dishonest group. We need to find a way to make our government work without creating such a bunch of useless self important people. Is there no integrity? You can’t vote Democrat anymore because they apparently love killing babies but do not want to punish those who kill babies and they support immigration reform only because all they care about is votes. What a disgrace we have become.

  • Anonymous

Only time will tell if Sen. Cruz ‘walks the talk’ through his votes, or catches the same disease that afflicts most of his counterparts.  If he begins to justify questionable positions that the American people can smell a mile away, then we know the worm has bored in.

  • Julie Asberry

If you want to be nice, then that is true. I do believe that Obama is desparate in getting the budget back to the norm. I think he hates any one that thinks conservatively, and to me it is immature. I just don’t get it. Why don’t the republicans talk more about a balance and compromising instead of trying so hard to argue with a losing battle. I am so darned frustrated about ou future and or kids and grand kids as well. Man! What in the heck is his problem? It is making me sad , but mad in a good way. I hope to our God that Republicans can be in charge of our beautiful country again. I am scared and don’t appreciate it Obama! Love you Ted Cruise. Julie from Grants Pass, Oregon. By the way We matter too, here in Oregon!
